@SeminarioMAE I agree completely. HOWEVER, I do believe female circumcision needs to stop for the same reason foot binding was stopped. It is horribly detrimental to the girls health. Many girls die during the practice because of infection and many more die during childbirth because their birth canal is to narrow. Though I believe to respect and embrace all traditions, when it is EXTREMELY harmful to someone's health, I believe it should be stopped.

Through many 1000s of years, our culture, and other cultures evolve. Our society is far from perfect, but we are still growing in knowledge and finding new ways to improve itself. This is done through science and education. These people would be much happier if they were introduced to new knowledge.

Okay. I think what matters is that the clit (remember it's mostly internal, the glans is only the veritable tip of the iceberg) is the main erogenous zone on a woman, while the foreskin is the main erogenous zone on a man, so removing both can be sexually crippling.

When this is done to females, their ability to have a sexual response is robbed from them. I'm no OBGYN, but the nerves from the clitoris may even effect the G spot response.. which is inside the vagina.. Male circumcision is odd, too.. I also thought it was done to prevent germs from gathering in the foreskin, but I think bathing regularly would prevent that. Still, a man's sexual pleasure isn't affected and they aren't stigmatized for not having it done, except in other cultures maybe.

The foreskin contains 20,000 nerve endings. It's the main erogenous zone of the penis. Circumcision was historically popularized to combat masturbation for this reason (and believe me, it's very successful). Academic studies show the majority of mutilated women can still enjoy sex and achieve orgasm. Getting infections and sometimes dying is a very real risk of circumcision as well.

Many girls die during the practice because of infection and many more die during childbirth because their birth canal is to narrow. When this is done to females, their ability to have a sexual response is robbed from them. I'm no OBGYN, but the nerves from the clitoris may even effect the G spot response.. which is inside the vagina.. Male circumcision is odd, too.. I also thought it was done to prevent germs from gathering in the foreskin, but I think bathing regularly would prevent that. Still, a man's sexual pleasure isn't affected and they aren't stigmatized for not having it done, except in other cultures maybe.

@TiniNormi How so? I've never heard that. I fact, they say circumcision in men makes sex better for them. That may not be true. I've had serious relationships with men that were and were not. Everyone seemed, sounded and reacted just as happy and pleased... It would be sad to think of most men losing something sevual because of removing the foreskin. This cannot be comparable to these women losing every bit of sensation, getting infections and sometimes dying.......

The foreskin contains 20,000 nerve endings. It's the main erogenous zone of the penis. Circumcision was historically popularized to combat masturbation for this reason (and believe me, it's very successful). Academic studies show the majority of mutilated women can still enjoy sex and achieve orgasm. Getting infections and sometimes dying is a very real risk of circumcision as well.

The Aztecs made some amazing things, but they had slaves and made regular human sacrifices. It's good those things aren't around. Eliminating female circumcision won't turn an Afar tribe into a bunch of chavs who eat at McDonalds.

I am against all things religion when it comes kids too small to have a choice in the matter, these things should be decided when the person is old enough to make an educated decision.
