I'm a long time fan of the series and I have to say I'm disappointed so far. I've tested ss1 and ss2 and the games has been altered from it's arcade roots in subtle but game breaking ways. The gameplay doesn't flow anymore and instead as you move closer towards the end the AI goes grab happy. The game never played like this in the arcade, move list damage has changed as well for some characters. Special moves lack the same dmg. gonna try the rest and see if they are any good 1&2 are screwed up.
Regardless of what you say, I happen to have the import and it's worth it considering you can have custom character palettes and have a chance to play all the games at once, plus it works on my PS2 HDD, saving me the trouble of setting up any sort of emulator (Kawaks sucks in this regard).
I have it (japanese version) and it's awesome for some mostalgia to play Samurai Shodown 1 and 2 :) (he 3rd one is good but difficult, the 4th one is good but too short and the 5th one is not that good and I think Samurai Shodown 5 Special must be unlocked)
There's only one cheap thing: THE OPTIONS OF SAMURAI SHODOWN 2 MUST BE UNLOCKED! (you have the difficulty setting but you can't move it: it's level 4 even if you don't like it!)
Some of Samurai Shodown 3 settings must be unlocked too! :(
How do you unlock the options for Samurai Shodown 2? I am kind of pissed off that there are no fatalities on this disc! Yet... Samurai Shodown 1 has fatalities? I want to throw this disc out the window considering it was like 5000 yen! Back to MAME until I find out how to unlock the fatalities (if that's possible).
I can change the difficulty just fine on my Wii disc (Samurai Shodown 2). However, it's confusing because you have to use the A and D buttons to switch the difficulty... the control pad / joystick won't work! The whole menu system is totally screwed up on this disc... sometimes the A button is "accept" and sometimes it's "cancel". What a pain in the ass! I wonder if I could play MAME with the Wii Classic Controller... I would never play this silly Anthology disc anymore.
I dunno, I'm not even sure Samurai Shodown V Special is included, it was only my opinion. Sorry. (but I hope it's included, if it is, i'll tell you how to unlock it when I know how)

this looks like a samurai showdown that can be played right from a MAME emulator within hbc and not really worth buying
