  • The date on the video is 4 April 2000 - which was a Sunday. Was this a recording of a repeat of a show from 1990?

  • @redpaul101 Date of transfer from tape to tape - notice the "Play", not "Record"

  • @mbroders Aha! Tx :)

  • Elvis tore this cover up..

  • 0:49 Brian Johnson?

  • このセッションは、何なのだ? 30年前なら考えなれないでしょう?ナイルロジャースのギターが何時ものように、異様の乾いている。

  • Yes, what is so funny about peace love and understanding, lets ask the president

  • I really wish someone could post the original of this,Brinsley Schwartz rule!

  • Great hair!!

  • This is my favorite of all the many versions of this tune.

  • Nick wrote this tune and produced the original recording by Elvis Costello. I have been a fan of Nick's for long and to me, this is the best

"LIVE" version of this song I've ever seen performed.Better than the ones with Paul Carrack and John Hiatt together, or the slower cuts with Benmont Tench or Elvis Costello.

In any case this version is fast, and the pianist looks like none other than Paul Carrack himself. Also, Nile's tasty and country-flavored guitar solo fits well.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I remember when you could see all kinds of performances like this on MTV and VH1. What happened?

  • Yeh, that was a long time ago, wasn't it. I haven't watched either channel in years because they took the "music" out, and replaced it with "$hit".

  • Amen! Who watches that $hit anyway? After the 80s were over, I never thought I would miss music videos so much. Or synthesizers and drum machines for that matter. Actually we digress since this song is very pre-MTV.

  • The Holmes Brothers do a pretty good cover of this, and I had never seen Nick Lowe do it before now. I think Nick Lowe wrote this song, if memory serves me correctly.

  • @Teflon65 Nick Lowe wrote it, then Elvis made it mainstream in the U.S.

  • Great hair

  • Nick Lowe and Nile Rodgers....great musicians...thanks for all the great songs!

  • I love Nick Lowe *sigh*
