  • Paul played the solo because he made the solo. Harrison didn't make it.

  • Ok thanks, :)

  • is the taxman chord the same as the7#9 hendrix chord?

  • @bluehazeboy: I think it is, yes.

  • Man, that's great. Thanks for putting the effort into making the vid. I love the little sort of Indian drone in the solo.

  • @kotek1: Glad it was helpful. Enjoy.

  • Great lesson ..

unusual Casino with 1 pickup .. I love it ..

    Regards, modfather1965!!!

  • @VoxMax1200: Hi. Thanks for the support. I'm glad the vid was helpful. Yes--unusual Casino, but she's loved.

  • This is great, man!

  • @spidpower: Glad I could be helpful.

  • And of course with 2-3 guitarists and multi-track recording and track bouncing, there are stacked inversions of chords which enrich the sound even though it is essentially one chord. The Beatles had several guitar influences from 1930s-1960 and George Martin taught them a lot. Whenever I hear pop songs with major chords add6 note it sounds like the Fab Four.

  • The D9 add 9 chord has been called the Purple Haze chord. You should give the name of the chord as well as merely the fingering, so that students can notate the description on sheet music. And as you said, there are several chord motifs which slide up and down the frets, such as the Hendrix motif on Spanish Castle, whcih is similar to the Gadd9 chord but with an open G-string on all of the chords.

  • Thanks man, you have been a great help. :)

  • @MrTomdguitar: Glad to hear it.

  • Thanks a lot for this great lesson. I learned to play the song and the solo in half an hour thanks to you! I had no idea what the solo was before. You explain well and your voice is trustworthy.

  • @SherlockZorglub: Comments like yours make it all worth while... Glad the vid helped out.

  • sweet

  • That open string technique is what the eastern flavor comes from I think.

  • i heard the other day was that george spent hours working on a solo and when it was suggested paul played it, george stormed out and went for a walk. when he got back, Paul had recorded it in one take. they all liked it so much that they took the same exact solo and put it in the end as it fades out!

  • @RascalXmasat: Great story. Thanks for sharing.

  • @RascalXmas Absolutely true account of what the boys did that day.

  • i must say good leason

  • I really like this song and i bought a casino back in february and it's just a great guitar. I can see why the Beatles like this as it's really light

  • You should do some more lessons.their really good.maybe some who or stones lessons.

  • @ryler99: I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the support.
