  • Didn't know System wrote Les' lyrics? Fuck them in the ass. SOAD is fucking garbage.

  • @jmdpgh81 No one but Claypool is EVER credited for lyrics on ANY Primus album.

  • I always thought this song was about Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.

"she cried in the day, she cried in the night, she cried loudest when someone was near. She cried for him, she cried for herself, the nearer the camera, the bigger the tear"

  • sounds like Polka (Queens of the Stone Age)

  • Actually for everyone here System Of a Down released the album with the song on it in1998 at some point, and Primus released Antipop in 1999...at some point. So if anything Primus stole from them.

But just cause two songs has 1/3 timing doesn't mean it's the same song or even close, so no one ripped off anyone.

  • poor Kurt Cobain... if only he knew...

  • shi-tty

  • MY BIRTHDAY!!!! No, I'm not two.

  • @IpH0n3BIACH I accidentally down voted you. whoops!

  • @blazemonkey I accidentally thought that you are a lying bs'er. Whoops!

  • Supposedly each chooses the path of (thinking anyways) of least pain.

  • Does anybody know if this is about Courtney Love?

  • @Beatnikzombie i felt that too.the lyrics are too similar to the story.buuuuut who knows really.

  • @Beatnikzombie I had that thought myself.

  • @Beatnikzombie Apparently it is,i don't remember where i read it on this mystical thing called the internet, but i've heard its about her

  • @Beatnikzombie it is about courtney love

  • @CapnGokey I kinda thought so.

  • @milquelizard apparently its more then me, i got a few responses and thumbs up so. This song just sounds alot like the song stuck in the sky by soad which kinda bugs me, but woozy is right both les and soad were influenced by eastern european music.

  • Guys I hate to say it, but his a very generic "carnival" chord progression

I can't count the number of songs that this has been used in

No one stole it from anyone

Its just common when bands want to give this effect

  • Some of those songs that use this include the ones mentioned before

for the benefit of mr kite by the beatles

    and entertainment by rise against

Not to mention the probably countless others that are in other songs

  • I love Peephole and Coattails of a Dead Man. They're both good songs, who care's if the riff is repeated! If anything, we should be happy because we get two times the awesome song from two different bands. It's a win-win situation.

  • lol at all these awful comments. mushroomhead is not only a slipknot ripoff, but they're terrible. soad is great, but sorry, les didn't 'steal' anything from them.

  • how about doing a little research before commenting.. mushroomhead was around quite a while before slipknot.

  • @bubmarley mushroomhead were wearing those masks b4 slipknot were even big... mushroomhead masks slipknot wore tape on there faces

  • its the bass player from mushroomhead

    ( pig benis ) jk

  • O.o claypools been doing this long before mushroomhead

  • This song sounds so good with that bari sax :D

  • everything sounds good with a bari!!

  • great song

  • I don't care what anybody says, this is straight-up fucking PIRATE MUSIC!

Tomorrow is talk like a pirate day so don't ARRRRRRRRGUE, douchebags.

  • hell yeah pirate music , this is all i been saying the past week.

  • arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhg

  • is it just me or does it sound suspiciously like system of a down ripped off some of primus's style and riffs?

  • in what ways exactly?

  • just listen to the way serj sings in system i mean, that one song stuck in the sky or what ever sounds like this.

  • shit your right

  • I'm not going near that statement with a twenty foot pole.

  • @LittlePallythatCould what statement

  • You're statement, that would imply Les Claypool, a monolith and legend of modern funk and rock in the 1990s, and influence for half of the nu-metal revolution, stole a three chord guitar beat from Peephole by System of a Down. It's incredibly blasphemous, and insulting to someone who has more talent in his dingleberries than everyone in System of a Down's immediate family combined.

  • @LittlePallythatCould uh reread my comment, I said SOAD took from LES.

    Lmfao.

I would never think les claypool (my idol) stole from system of a down how do you even read that fool.

  • That's why I wasn't going to touch it, because it looks like it could go either way. The statement is broad as hell.

  • This is actually heavily influenced by Tom Waits' style (See Rain Dogs), Tom Waits actually sang on the album version of this song. In turn Tom Waits was influenced by Eastern European folk and three bar blues. System of a down have a heavy Eastern European influence, being of Eastern European descent so that's the connection between this song and Stuck in the Sky.

  • @Woozygulag Tom Waits Also did the voice of Tommy the Cat!! Tom and Ls have a long time friendship!! 2 musical genius's...

  • @WAbrewer426 Interesting dude, I did not know that...

  • @Woozygulag Yeah........it's just a Primus song so fuck off.

  • @redwatchnewzealand

You don't have to read my comments if you don't like them, I was merely trying to explain to sociopathix (top rated comment below mine) why System and Primus have a similar feel to their music. Obviously you've got a lot on your mind and don't need my opinions dominating your life. So why don't you just fuck off, I insist. Just fuck right off and stop bothering people with your witty retorts, go laugh at your dick in the bath or something I don't care dude.

  • @sociopathix look up the song peephole by sod... still... good song by them also and may have been sipired by this great song

  • @sociopathix I'm huge fan of both bands and I'd say their completely different. but who knows, maybe.

  • Comment removed

  • @sociopathix it's just the 3/4 (? whatever it is) timing. if that's what ur talking about.

  • @sociopathix This IS a Primus song. It's on the Brown Album.

  • @Whatdahellisthat its on antipop fyi

  • @21ccfb Touche'! Cerebral flatulence on my part. Thanks!

  • Loved this song when it was Played at the Warfield in San Francisco, my favourite Primus song!

  • I enjoy this, but the sound quality kind badly kabooms my ear drums XD

  • Primus are deagly, fuk yea, fuk yea!

  • nice spot! and not to shabby with the quality.
