Thank you Mauro and Kyril for your terrific step by step videos on the modern forehand. I gave up playing tennis 12 years ago, largely through frustration at having an unreliable forehand which was spoiling my enjoyment of the game. I started playing again in April, and my forehand has now become a reliable weapon. I am now hitting further in front of me with the wrist cocked, and everything else has fallen into place. No more running round my forehand !! Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for these! I have never been as solid on the forehand side. I just realized after watching these that I may be trying to hit the ball too late in my stroke.. cant wait to hit today later
This is Xin from Boston, it's 5:30am now. I watched this series for forehand all night long.lol I never thought about any lesson that can make me so excited... I will go to the court today and have a try! I am lucky to watch this! Thank you sooooo much!
@queenofcourt Cool, you might have bought a real future "classic collectible". More videos on all strokes coming out soon, we're "A-class editing" all future videos!!
Amazing series!!. Watched hundreds of pro slow motion videos and tons of trials on court and now after watching this series ...you know I feel like that moment of enlightenment...that moment of bliss where everything is clear and has come together.
@MegaReemas Welcome, glad you're enjoying :) Answer to your squeeze(?) grip question is on Pt.1 at 0:55mins, and direct answer is exactly at 1:55. Without a little squeeze at impact point, unless you hit the ball exactly on the center of racket's sweet spot, your racket head won't be stable during impact. A "light squeeze" helps controlling the racket head, and is also a natural tendency we have. We should learn to "Measure" How Much we squeeze, so we don't feel tense, but smooth!! *Coach Mauro
Thanks Coach Mauro - appreciate the response! I have been watching your Pt. 1 thru 7 all summer long! I have changed my forehand and I now take the ball out in front when in a neutral/closed stance. Its been amazing. I also watched your video on firm wrist / loose arm, but I was wondering about grip tension at contact. I will try it out! Thanks again!!!
* Coach Mauro here... hmmm, some say that the follow through "over the shoulder" is an old thing, a stroke of the past... hmmm, well, today, 2010, Tomas Berdych beat Mr.Federer, to make it to his first ever Wimbledon Semi-Final...and, he's now #13th ATP ranking (soon Top 10), and, he plays a Modern Game, and, he hits his Forehand with This ACCURATE Follow Through, finishing dipping the racket head over the opposite shoulder, inside the invisible backpack. Hope this CLEARS any doubts about it :)
This should be called Next Level Tennis. WOW!! I have not hit a correct forehand ever, wrist pain, etc. I day on the court with the cocked wrist and follow through, no more pain and more control Now just need to work on the rest to have better preparation and timing. I am sold!!!!
@feimiao Welcome! Backhands videos have been filmed, now they are on editing faze, coming out in the near future, you won't regret your patience waiting for them! :)
I think i am doing all the things correctly but i am hitting out a lot more then i used to i try to hit with a lot of top spin and hit as hard as i can with wiper motion,
i can keep it in if i hit it with less power with decent spin but if i use full power it goes out, maybe i am falling back or racket face is opening up
these videos with mauro have been really helpful. I went to tennis lessons and they don't teach me the details in hitting a stroke. they just let me hit how I hit it and it became a habit over time. I can't wait to step on the court once again and try all these new techniques. how about posting another video on serving technique. I always wonder when to put all your strength in serving, is it when the racquet was in the backpack zone or is it before that.
@hansoeij Glad you're getting the help you found. Your serve power question will be answered soon, with more details for you, on our upcoming serve video clips.
