  • Please someone tell me the length and width of the fabric needed to tie a Gele. Great video on tieing it :)

  • @thinkerbelle02 EXCUSE ME PLEASE, GELE DOES NOT MEAN THE MATERIAL BUT HEAD GEAR. AND CAN BE MADE FROM ANY KIND OF MATERIAL (NEVER PAPER). U CAN TIE "GELE" WITH ASO-OKE, KENTE MATERIAL, LINEN, JACCKARD, ANKARA OR LACE MATERIALS. THEREFORE, GELE IN YORUBALAND MEANS HEADGEAR OR HEADTIE AND IT'S NOT MADE OF A PARTICULAR MATERIAL ONLY.

  • @ABUKKYLICIOUS, I never said that Gele meant the material. I specifically said that I'm teaching them how to tie a head-tie, also known as gele.

I'm Yourba, so I'm not just talking out of my behind.

  • For a young girl her tying is........ FANTASTIC!!!

  • THANKS.

  • wht kind of paper is this

and where do i get some

what kind of art cloth is this

  • @antrionettiee, I don't mean paper as in paper you write on. But that's what my parents, aunts, uncles, and everyone I know calls the material that is not aso-oke or ankara or any of that.

  • Excellent! Thank you!

  • paper? just feeling like paper,my company handle this business. Actually it's fabric, polyester with metallic yarn maybe gold maybe silver

  • we call it paper. It's not like it's the paper you write with.

  • @Lonniewang, I know it's not real paper. I guess I should have tried clarifying--but that's just the word we use to describe that kind of gele material.

  • Why would you say that a gele is made out of PAPER???? There is NO gele in the world that is made from paper.

  • Your gele looks beautiful and pretty simple to tie. This head wrap would be perfect to go with costumes for a play I'm directing soon. I noticed you mention that they can be made from paper! If so, what kind? If you use fabric, what kind of fabric and what do you use for starch? Thanks.

  • Im GOING TO YOUR WEDDING

  • OMG! Thanks so much!
