  • how many have you sold so far/

  • Have you ever tried this with amputees? I'd love to get one but I wonder if it would be an issue with the balance?

  • You have to low seat position about 20 centimeters.

  • but can i text on it?

  • I can see this being huge in large city life..

  • Me recuerda al Segway, uno de los grandes fracasos comerciales de la humanidad, yo creo que este tendra la misma suerte...

Reminds me of the Segway, one of the biggest business failures of humanity, I think this will have the same fate ...

  • Muy bonito pero, mas sano, menos peligroso y ........ porque no una silla de ruedas. No somos lisiados...FUERA SEDENTARISMO!

  • $3500.....6 mile range.......15 mph top speed. Not a sound investment in my books. Love the design though, very catchy

  • what happens if there is a sandtrap?

  • Well, I hate the bike, but all the best to New Zealand, it's an awesome nation.

  • I WHAANT

  • That's a pimp bike.... Would luv to ride that around surfers - sos said

  • umm I didnt see any chubby people riding in the video whats the weight support for this thing

  • I would love to review one. It would most likely get some interesting looks around downtown Phoenix.

  • good idea but what about emergency stops won't the rider just fly off .

  • @blobby1972 i think its anti-skid so the break is prob of a different design which means there won't be no emergency stop if its break-over-time

  • yet another thing designed purely because it was possible, not because it was practical for anything

  • Yes!!!!

  • Awesome..,love to have one. You guys have to look for ways to lower the price. Just dont outsource it to china..,lol

  • propably 4000$ i am thinking

  • would like to see it go over rough road

  • @yomamaizsofatt It is surprisingly good on pot holes etc - search YouTube for "YikeBike testing video"

  • I own a Segway, and read similarly ill informed, snide comments from non-owners. I would love a Yike Bike, especially in NYC where I live. It would work perfectly for running quick tasks and getting to the subway or my destination fast, then taking it with me.

  • How much and when available?

  • why not have the handle bars extruding forward a bit more and more in front of you

holding them the way you would with a shopping cart just lower

personally i would feel much more safe a comfortable with my hands right in front of me

if i were to hit a large bump id go face first with nothing to protect me

  • @TechXMarine thats the patented yike bike face plant brake method!

  • @JulietSierraUK :O ITS REVOLUTIONARY!

  • @TechXMarine Have you used a YikeBike? Or is this just speculatory based on what you've seen on Youtube? I find it incredibly comfortable and safe to use.

  • Hahaha i would buy this but i already have a Hayabusa

  • Pointless. Not interested.

  • whats the background music?

  • whats the name of the background music?? has anyone know?

  • @michelle1920 It's basically the bones of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

  • uncomfortable

  • @daniel00xx .....the universal reaction when you sit on a YikeBike is that it feels remarkably comfortable and natural (the uncomfortable reaction is because it is different) - check out the owners comments on the website

  • @yikebike hows about you let me try one out for a while and I will brag on about how amazing they are :)

  • And where do I take the shopping?

  • @FanCyMonDaY in a small backpack or there is a suitcase/trailer on the way too. Not suitable for towing your boat though.

  • How suitable is this in the real world, with potholes, etc.

  • @JogBird It works well in the real world - I use one pretty much everyday. To see tests in pot holes etc search youtube for "YikeBike testing"

  • Caraca...quero uma bike dessas...acho que terei que esperar muito. =(

  • It's like a big wheel for grown ups.

  • It should be solar powered aswell, just to make it even better and a little bit more affordable, pitch that to the creator

  • Music?

  • I love the music, it just makes me want to buy one so much more

  • um, put pedals on it, take out the electronics and id buy it

  • £2995 is a lot of money, so it's only for the well off. A charge only lasts for half an hour about 6 miles. It does charge quickly though at half an hour. Perhaps cafe's can have charging points.

  • Well good luck gents, its a very nice product. Hope it goes well for you.

  • This is not a bike, but a motor bike! If the people don't make your legs move, the benefit to health is poor!

  • what happens when you hit large bumps?

  • love how fast it carges

  • im from NZ too ive registerd when will you start sending email to us

  • when will you do the test runs i can't find them on your website?

  • wow im going to buy this when i've got enogh money (im 11 years old) lol

  • Meet the future... Any projects for Brazil?

  • I'm really excited about this, but the cost is too steep for me right now... But I do have some questions:

    1) Any news on an economy Yike? (Aluminum or High-Density Plastics instead of Carbon Fiber?)

    2) How many Yikes have been reserved for purchase yet? Or is that confidential information?

    3) Any plans to release a pedal-powered or pedal-assisted Yike in the future?

  • Charge time? Battery life before recharge? Cost of recharge? Overall battery life?Cost of new battery?

  • Charges in 30-40 minutes. Runs for 30 minutes (about 10km). Few cents to recharge. 600+ cycles (hoping for 1000+). Not sure on cost of new battery but should be around 200 Euros

  • So to ride 6000 km currently costs about $450 (battery & charging). $450 is 270 litres of petrol for a scooter that could travel 7020 km (average for 50cc scooter) and be more comfortable, ride faster and in steeper conditions? I reckon you guys should focus on a one person pod car that has absolute bare essentials and weighs extremely light.

  • You can't take a scooter or car on the train with you and you never have to find a park or leave it out side to get stolen. It is designed for small trips that link in with other forms of transport rather than replacing them.

  • It should have a handlebar and backrest that will give you more support while riding.

  • Hey I'm from NZ too! Can I test one for these too? I looks like a lot of fun

  • We will organise some test ride days next year. If you register on the website we will let you know where and when

  • Wonderful project, fellas.

  • Congrats guy's, Hope all your ambitions come true. Alway's remember if you don't reach for the stars then you will never find out how far imagination will take you.

  • This is very cool!

  • wow. cool future bike. what's the top speed?

  • 20 km/h for now. We have had versions go faster but is limited to meet safety regulations

  • Despiste the price, It seems fun, fast but not safe. Also, the back and shoulders might be a little tense after a few rides. But it's amazing how we are living the future we expected somehow.

  • I think it's pretty cool.

  • plaese export to japan.

  • I think so too : )

  • What song is that, that's playin in the background?

  • proud to be an new zealander :)

  • yes please, what's the track playing?

  • start up on russian market

  • Is Yike another word for lazy?

  • so..this bike we can paddle it and also ride it bye the electric motor?

  • that looks dangerous, maybe for sidewalks in the cities might be ok but not only is it slow, it would suk to be in one of these in a rainy day, This is just a toy

  • would you ride a regular bike on a rainy day?

  • dude your going to replace your bike with this thing that cost as much as your car?

  • how do you tune around then with it..??

  • Remember the Disney movie Wall-E? Well, that is probably the most likely depiction of what humans will become. Fat, lazy, & drinking food thru a shake.

  • Humans evolved walking many miles a day, if not we wouldn't have legs. Its in our genetics. This "bike" is for the lazy just like the segway.

  • @jebbo1 Some people suffer from disabilities or ailments that hinder their ability to walk long distances. By your logic, glasses are meant for people who are too lazy to get closer to things to see them. Get your head out of your ass.

  • i came up with a revolution in transportation it was called a regular bike.

  • "pre launch party"? ?? ??? No, this is the launch party.

  • lol they act like this is the wave of the future...How stupid a slow moving electronic bike that is supposed to replace more effcient and safer ways of transportation like a regular bike or even walking for that matter. $5,000? are you kidding me? Dont buy stock in yikebike I see this as a complete failure in 10 years.

  • its probably for rich people, they are probably going to make very few of these, its like that other machine were u stand up and just lean to wichever direction your going to go and you turn, whats it called again...

  • its practicaly just a toy

  • It only has a travel autonomy of 10 km (6 miles) and a top speed of 20 km. If you happen to crash against something you would be expelled forward with nothing to protect you. It is going to be launched at an incredibly expensive price... It will just be a curiousity, an expensive adult toy just like the segway.

  • 5,500.00 WRONG!

with the half i can buy a car with all the safety specifications... this Yike Bike doesnt have the security specification of my childs bike...

  • I want one of these, the price will be around 4600$ (30.000 - 35.000 SEK)

  • D best idea so far, where do i get one i need this bike like i need water!

  • How much is this, I am buying one for sure.

  • 5,500.00 USD...

i wanna see you buying it!

  • Every goofball hipster in Williamsburg, Brooklyn will want one of these. You know, when their vespa scooter is in the shop. Yuck!

  • Cool. But there is no market for this :-(

  • No helmet?

  • Death trap in traffic. Not a good position to ride.... first pothole and you will faceplant.

  • why have bike like pedals ??? why not more like a board so their is more comfort

  • Coolness! If I had one of these I would wear a large trench coat that would partially cover the yike. Then it would look like I was just hovering around quickly!

  • The seat needs to be bigger so it can accommodate the fatties who are too lazy to pedal a real bike.

  • You must show your product to the mayor of Paris (France).

This would be a nice replacement for our current bicycle hire system called Velib.

  • cool. is helmet included and for free when buying this yikebikes? hope its not expensive.....?

  • to me it looks cooler then a segway

  • I'm an industrial design student and I love your work. Sure enough your yikebike looks a little alien but your concept is awesome. What an interesting take on decongesting public roads in an environmentally friendly way. A great amount of research and development has obviously gone into this. Keep up the great work!

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one who actually believes this thing is a good idea, I saw it live today and it works just as well on an unprepared surface.

  • nice concept! how much??

  • For 5 grand you might as well get a freaking segway, jeeez

  • This may not work everywhere, thats fine. There is no silver bullet for the problems we have, the world is too diverse. If this is every efficient and safe and people can use it instead of cars in various parts of the world, then it should be a part of the solution. It looks so light when they pick it up - great invention.

  • oh very good when the party to mexico ^^

  • good concept by it would not work in north america. winter, in the rain, grass, dirt, hill can it go through all that.

  • HOW MUCH !!!!!!!

  • how fast can you stop without your face hitting the pavement first?

  • Can't it go over object and pot holes without throwing the person off?

  • Looks very unstable.

  • This makes people fattier and the more fat people accumulate the more power the bike needs. At the end people have gotten so fat the bike won`t go anywhere and they end up spending lots of money on a thing that eventually kills you.

  • looks good on really flat surface but not sure how it will balance in the real world

  • I saw a street demonstration today, it held up amazingly well.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaand head trama statistics just jumped 25%...

  • so what happen if its running out of juice?? Lugging it around?

  • Looks great, I think it should do well

  • Short wheelbase and high center of gravity.

  • nice little toy, but I wouldn't want to use it in traffic. I'd take the dahon and just pedal it...

  • I like it. The compactness especially and the overall simplicity.

  • Are you saying that a dahon foldable it´s even comparable with this bike? Keep your delusions in fight show please.

  • song??

  • Wooooww amazing

  • really cool

  • i wanna get one, how much?

  • $8000

  • That's one sexy device. What's the range? 1.2kW seems like a pretty strong motor, for such a little device.
