I don't want to get into a whole metal classification discussion here (tired of seeing all those stupid arguments) but I'm more into groove/stoner rock with an affinity for traditional and melodic metal. Maiden is far and away my favorite band...but I do love Pantera, Down, Fear Factory, A7X, etc.

Pantera doesn't talk about how a person should commit suicide, but rather to try and survive tumultuous times in ones life. Philip even goes so far as to say in Part I "Try to live through this night...", and in Part II "Don't you try to die, like me." He was speaking in metaphores trying to live through those tough times in a persons life. He died once and I doubt he wants anyone else to endure that.

@mesamarai Eh...those bands don't do a lot for me. I don't want to get into a whole metal classification discussion here (tired of seeing all those stupid arguments) but I'm more into groove/stoner rock with an affinity for traditional and melodic metal. Maiden is far and away my favorite band...but I do love Pantera, Down, Fear Factory, A7X, etc.
I guess that's why the hook and the chorus of this song blow me the fuck away.

@TheItchyFetus Yeah, a new level. lol. Maybe you just don't hear the similarities the way I do. I don't listen to screamo but from what I've heard, and many people agree, that vocal genre sounds similar to parts of this song. Yet this was released years earlier, thus influencing said style.
Doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees, we're all entitled to our own opinion and that is mine.

I like this song for its peaceful message and easy listening. What great ambiance it creates. It's no wonder why some crazy person shot the guitar player. Birds of a feather flock together. Live by the sword..die by the sword. Sorry the guy is dead but then again his music won't be polluting the minds of our children. God has his way of sorting things out.

You are not gods ambassador, so you had better stop acting like a pious, sarcastic fool. The guitar is a form of expression that transcends the spoken word. If you believe in God then you know that it is not how a person plays guitar, but rather it is the quality of their actions that gets them into heaven.

It makes them crazier and then they eventually shoot classmates in schools (Columbine), perform Double Suicides (see the Judas Priest incident), and shoot performers on stage. @dannyd1572 Those people had that type of a personality disorder within them to begin with. Pantera doesn't talk about how a person should commit suicide, but rather to try and survive tumultuous times in ones life. Philip even goes so far as to say in Part I "Try to live through this night...", and in Part II "Don't you try to die, like me." He was speaking in metaphores trying to live through those tough times in a persons life. He died once and I doubt he wants anyone else to endure that.
