Thank you :) Tamiya as always... used wider rods, and cheap Plexiglas base. No, it's a Tamiya Gearbox, too bad the gear ratio is high (altho I replaced the motors), which makes the bot a slow one :(
it's a good speed, unless your going for something faster? my goals are to build stuff that is fun to watch . and see how they get out of wierd situations .
looks like ur guy is not going to have any trouble getting out of anything :)
Yeah, I do want it faster... but, oh well :) Your K-9 is smarter I bet (and it is fun to watch), it does a lotta scanning, mine has many blind-spots (some covered by the antennae). You asked for an URL, but you already use Tamiya (the rest is just plexiglas) :) I still gets stuck if the obstacle is too low or too high... gotta make the antennae bigger, and maybe add another servo for different angles just like you did. But no, I worked enough on this... next project!
ha i can totally relate to moving on . i got some boards printed to replace for k-9 . and i just lost interest . not that i think it's boring, but i feel i need to build something bigger and smarter with more sensors . so im' in the subconscience planning stage by ignoring robotics right now :)
Haha, you're just like me... I got a system waiting to be mobilized here (the first video with the cat), it has an 18F452 on it now, but it's been there for a year. Yeah, I need to move to something bigger (R2D2?) and smarter, too ;) It's good to move on though... I mean how much more can you add? And I usually end up breaking stuff ;p
r2d2? dude that's the best idea yet . really smart!
i'm thinking of a larger version of k-9 or a bipod . i got this teddy bear i was going to throw a few servos in and an accelerometer to see if i can make it walk .
Well, size-wise anyway, but yeah, I definitely want a dome at the top with a cam in it (plus many sensors and lights) :) A biped would be hard I bet, balancing it and all that stuff, but why not? I also wanna alter toys just like you said... a teddy bear is a good idea :P
great job mate !! mean about the robot and video as well ! the scene with cat ... just amazing !!

that's a great tread platform . do you have an url for it? i really like the new setup . is it powered by servos?

sensors yes!
IR Head detector sensor . you can have him determine where humans are :)

There are pyro sensors for such stuff, but they are a bit expensive :|
