  • Yeah you are right and I stand corrected. Jimmy played on SO RARE, MAMBO EN SAX, SOPHISTICATED SWING and one other that I forget. I had located a biography which listed the stuff he played. I had always thought that one of them was JUNE NIGHT. I did read that Dick Stabile was hand picked by Jimmy himself to finish the album.

  • This was Jimmy playing on the recording. He did this, SO RARE and a few others. Dick Stabile finished the album after Jimmy died.

  • @jfmjr86 Jimmy Dorsey did not live long enough to participate in the recording of either "June Night" or it's stellar flip side, "J.D.'s Boogie Woogie." Cut five days after Jimmy's death, Dick Stablie played sax on those two hits and the Arthur Malvin Singers provided the vocals on "June Night."

  • DICK STABILE on ALTO SAX. Recorded five days after Jimmy Dorsey's death.

  • This is an utterly great piece of music quite like The Clark Sisters and The Sentimentalists with Tommy Dorsey and also Glen Miller doing People Like You and Me
