Soothing song. Not too calm, but nice and relaxing. The accompanying piano sounds great, albeit a bit simple. The strings remind me somewhat of Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts at the end.
I really doubt that's what it is. There's no tricky stuff going on there in the first place. It's a really weird sound also. The one at 1:30 sounds more natural.

It's been revealed in a commentary by ZUN that the reason Reimu was acting the way she was is purely due to selfishness. She seriously gets NO donations. Marisa B is apparently the canon ending, so we can skip the Fantastic Racism bit, but Reimu most definitely wanted a bit of that treasure ship.
Turns out there's no treasure. I'd be a PO'd miko, too.
I don't think Reimu is actually racist towards youkai. Reimu took Suika in when she had nowhere to stay. She is good friends with Yukari and Rinnosuke. She also shows other good intents towards certain youkai despite being an exterminator.
Her actions in UFO don't necessary mean she is racist. I think she was just trying to pick an exciting fight. If she hadn't found some way to provoke Byakuren, they would have met, drunk some tea, and leave happily.

That's actually just "fret noises", which happens when you move your fingers along the strings of a guitar while playing.
