  • Here we see clearly McCain's profound lacks of common sense and debating skill. How can people with clear flaws and weaknesses be contenders in a Presidential race?

When will we have the first presidential candidate man (or woman) enough to admit he doesn't believe in magic? When will we have a candidate who doesn't pander to religious zealots, or other socially backward lobbies?

Our current president comes closest to the ideal, yet still tries too hard to appease the dark elements.

  • So McCain wants to have polls in the military which will be used for personal political gains, only as long as they support his own political agenda. If they don't, then go ahead and discard them.

Hmm, I have to wonder how moral would be enhanced knowing that opinions only matter when they support the view of the politician who decided to conduct the poll. As McCain stated at 3:55 "you wouldn't necessarily accept them". That view works for dictators just fine right?

  • I'd have to agree with bigjstokes. Since when did Bush Jr. take a survey if war with Iraq was okay

  • as a subordinate soldier i've never been asked what i feel about a fucking course of action. as a leader of soldiers i've never asked how my soldiers felt about a course of action. they're fucking orders for a reason. the fuck

  • McCain is just showing how old and bigoted he is. It's a shame because McCain often crossed party lines to do the right thing.

  • STOP FILIBUSTERING! OMFG!

  • mccain - you fucking maggot! you have NEVER practiced leadership, never mind 'great leadership'. you are a liar, a bigot, a misogynist and not worth the clothes you wear. you are scum and a pox on our nation.

  • mccain is a senile asshole

  • McCain is a fucking ASSHAT. There are Americans who want to VOLUNTARILY fight and possibly die for this country, and this son of a bitch bastard wants to denigrate them by telling them to take a hike.

  • @drawnhere No soldier volunteers for death, they volunteer to serve. No soldier volunteers to fight, they volunteer to serve. You denigrate every member of our military by trivializing their service as voluntary, and by marginalizing soldiers deaths by calling it voluntary. And you're a hypocrite for saying Senator McCain denigrates our troops. Senator McCain sacrificed six years of his life not when he was captured but when he volunteered to serve - because he knew the risks.

  • @DOHC2L What part of "POSSIBLY" die didn't you understand, you frigging idiot? And apparently you've never heard the phrase "fight for your country."

You'll get no more comments from me, as I don't like trolls. But do feel free to continue spewing foolish nonsense as you jerk off to a photo of McCain.

  • McCain purposely showed total disrespect for the military. I thought McCain was a vet? Sure in hell doesn't act like one!

  • @chris2four7 He did not show any disrespect for the military. You seem to forget he is a senator and a raking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee... That committee isn't just for show it serves a purpose and the senators on the committee have the right to question our military leaders because who else will? The president? It's called checks and balances, you seem to not understand that concept because you act as if McCain has no authority and clearly he does have that authority.

  • The military has never taken McCain's position -- IT'S TOTAL BS!

  • How about we ask them if they want to come home? How about we ask them whether they should serve three or more consecutive tours? How about we ask them if they should get adequate psychological care when they get home? How about asking them whether Mike Pence gets to go over and say that Baghdad is like a walk in an Indiana market? What about asking them whether governemtn contractors should get overpaid for doing the same things they do?

  • Ok, McCain... if soliciting views from your "subordinates" (probably what he calls his wife and daughter) is so important to leadership, then why don't you go and ask everyone in your state for their opinions on every little thing before you even fly into DC...? Okay gramps? We'll get you a nice clip board and some orthopedic shoes and you'll just love it. We'll even give you a shiney umpire whistle... How's that?

  • @informatist "why don't you go and ask everyone in your state for their opinions"

There's something which does exactly that - an election. Senator McCain won reelection last month by a landslide.

It's horrible how in everything you said you utterly failed at making the one point you tried arguing. Listen to me, when you indulge in insults it undermines your reasoning. I speak from first-hand experience... I used to be like you until I let go of the rage.

Let it go and it will let go of you.

  • @DOHC2L - Ok, I'll bite... Listen, I am not full of rage or any other big problems... I just find John McCain to be a very dishonest and manipulative Senator. I realize that he won re-election (and you think that means that everyone in his State is against repealing DADT) but I think people voted for him because they dont really look at all the facts when they vote. For instance, do they really know that he voted against a bill that would allow female soldiers to prosecute their rapists?

  • They did the fricken interviews the way MCCAIN asked them to 10 months ago... Is he really that senile that he doesn't even remember that this was all his idea...?

Why do people even bother with him? Why don't they just change the time of the Armed Services Committee meeting and "forget" to tell him about it? I'm sure he wouldn't even notice if you got Meghan to take him to Sea World or something...

  • @informatist Do you really think it's okay to limit the time Senators have to only 5 minutes? That is completely unreasonable, it's the Senate Armed Services Committee... Limiting their time to 5 minutes per senator is a shameful tactic that was used to limit the debate because it's don't ask don't tell and the democrat leader of the committee did it for partisan reasons. It's one thing to disagree with his politics, but you joked about subverting his authority as a senator - that's sedition.

  • McCain is such a little baby. "I don't WANT to eat my broccoli". "Can I have more TIME to eat my broccoli". "Nobody asked ME if I wanted broccoli". "Nobody asked SALLY if she wanted broccoli either". "You're a poopy-head for making me eat BROCCOLI". "Broccolibroccolibroccoli ewww".

  • McCain talks about leadership in the military. With all due respect, McCain was a Navy Pilot. That's it. And on the other hand Admiral Mike Mullen commanded 3 Naval fleets, 1 Battle Group, 1 Cruiser-Destroyer Group, and 1 NATO Striking Fleet Atlantic, and many more military duties & experiences that definitely qualify him with exceptional leadership. McCain should'nt talk at all about leadership. McCain didn't do a background check and obviously has disrespected Admiral Mike Mullen. Shame on hm

  • @jusitke07

He was also Chief of Naval Operations (helping pad the resume) but yes, total agreement. McCain has done the service a great disrespect.

    MM2 (NUKE/SW) 2002-08

  • @jusitke07 There is no such thing as qualifying for leadership. Leadership is leadership - how can there be a qualification to leadership? Your confusing leadership with command - obviously there are qualifications to command, and experience is an important qualification, but it's an officers leadership that the military pays attention to; The military promotes it's best leaders and the most outstanding are the ones who are given military command. I write with all due respect, you do not.

  • @DOHC2L Wow, a former Captain Navy Pilot, compared to an Admiral who commanded and led battle ships, battle groups, and NATO forces...??...I don't think you know anything about Leadership.

  • @jusitke07 You're 35 years old? You act immature for your age. Your argument is immature. Your insults are immature.

Though you're older than me sir it would be wise for you to follow my example. I won't disrespect you. But FUCKING DAMNIT, no matter what I say you will not listen. I do want to help you, you just haven't understood that. Please don't mistake my motive as anything but a desire to teach you what is true from what is false. Your intelligence is a fraction of what it could be.

  • @DOHC2L said, "FUCKING DAMNIT, no matter what I say you will not listen. I do want to help you, you just haven't understood that..."

Okay...I don't know where exactly did you get the idea that I'm asking for help all of a sudden, but I assure I never asked you for your help in anything. But trust me, from when I read your comments, you definitely lack any military experience. So don't bother to try and explain your ideas, and/or try and shove down one's throat, because it won't work on me.

  • @jusitke07 Your arguments are wrong - and I told you why they were wrong when I criticized you yesterday. I challenge you to read those comments again. I always explain my ideas. You are correct I do lack military service, but I do not lack respect for the military. I would never disrespect anyone like that - how dare you? How dare you call my life into question? How dare you judge me for living the life I have lived? Deny, deny, deny, insult, insult, insult... that's all you've done.

  • @DOHC2L said, " You are correct I do lack military service"

See, I knew it. Therefore I'm really wasting my time on a non-military person who has the audacity to comment about military leadership, when in fact, that very same person has never once served in the military to begin with. From this point on, your comments on military leadership is pretty much null and void, because you haven't served in the military....at all.

  • @jusitke07 No, you didn't know it, you assumed it. Your snap judgment is well rehearsed, not well reasoned. I have never argued with you about leadership, that issue was removed from our argument, that was McCain's debate with the Admiral, remember?

Senator McCain can't talk about leadership. I can't talk about leadership. Only You can talk about leadership..... and the Admiral.

That's real hypocrisy. Sir, stop being a hypocrite. You are fashioning reasons to silence me, it's cowardly.

  • @jusitke07 The profanity slandered me not you. I speak from the heart and sometimes I use profanity ~elegantly~ speaking as it were poetry I use it beautifully.

  • @jusitke07 I really want to be clear on this. It's like swearing after dropping a hammer on your foot - your swearing at yourself, not your foot, not the hammer.

Look I swore ------> "FUCKING DAMNIT, no matter what I" <------ And that's me.

  • McCain needs a good case of colon cancer, the Tony Snow kind.

  • lol Gates' face at 0:16 made me laugh

  • Wow. I was never a McCain fan, but I at least used to feel sorry for him getting tortured in the Vietnam war as a POW. Not any more. Not at all. He is pissing all over the military, showing profound disrespect to the leadership AND the soldiers who have given their honest opinions, and for what? To uphold a law that is incredibly insulting and discriminatory against an entire community of United States citizen. What a waste of a human being!

  • Damn. What a tool. I so wish someone had brought up integration in the military vs. the "vote" and see what his response would be.

  • Agree with MikeHeath1: Did the soldiers get to "vote" in 1948 if the army should be integrated? No. The civilian leadership decided it was the right thing to do. Obviously, this blltheing old fool cannot recall the right thing to do. Instead he just pretends HE is the important issue here. "Hey, you whipersnapper! You offended Grandpa!!!" : )

  • He complains about having a time limit, and then all he does is run his mouth and run the clock.

  • Does John McCain think President Truman should have asked the white troops whether it was OK to serve with black soldiers? Should President Bush have asked the troops views whether we should invade Iraq in 2003?

John McCain shows absolutely no respect for the Constitution, the military chain of command, and civilian control of the military. He instead repeatedly demonstrates what a sell-out he is to promote his own political ambitions.

  • It's time for McCain to go already!

  • Old man bitching more. First Walnuts complains about having only 5 minutes to speak and then - because his ego & self-importance is so GIGANTIC - he just blathers on and on about something irrelevant to whether or not the policy should be repealed. Warning: Painful to sit through. ; )

  • John McCain is just another way to say FUCKSTICK.

  • John, time to retire to your SEVEN homes and drink your wife's beer.

  • McCain" Get off my lawn, you young wippersnappers! I'm hip to your jive lingo, so I know where it's at. Groovey! Don't talk to me about todays military- I was in the military! A mere half century ago! Damned hippies....

  • @leonardbonerhard Wow, how fucking bigoted can a person be? This is akin to saying, "Blacks are all wild animals that eat nothing but fried chicken and rape women."

    Fuck you too.

  • @leonardbonerhard I guess you are cool with rape if it get's your point across????

  • You can't be a true douche without being a Republicunt.

  • Senator McCain is completely out of touch with today's military. Not to mention that military policy is never set by ask the service members what they want to do. The civilian and military commanders set the mission, and the military accomplishes it. Period. End of story.

  • Asking white troops their views on integrating black troops would have been a fantastic strategy in the late 40s. The man is a bigot who sees his time of glorious gay-bashing is coming to an end, and he's angry. Very angry and thoughtless.

  • what a troll

  • I think McCain is senile.

  • Waiting for the Admiral to say look jackoff just because you got shot down flying your plane and was a pow you don't have any right to question my leadership. Since when does the military have to get permission from its members to do anything?

  • @myriadcorp Your forgetting the 4 other planes he destroyed while he was training. Why do we listen to this guy as some kind of military expert? If he had not been an Admiral's son, he would have been drummed out of the service.

  • @myriadcorp Since when did it become okay to denigrate the service of our soldiers or our veterans? John McCain was brutally tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for six years! You went beyond just mocking his service you mocked his sacrifice - You faulted John McCain for his valor. You ought to be ashamed. If you're an American what is it that motivates you to hate what is so dear to us as Americans?

John McCain has the right to question the admirals leadership because he's a Senator.

  • What is McCain talking about? Does he presume Bush took a survey of his soldiers before invading Iraq??

  • @bigjstokes An incredible naive analogy. There is a stark difference between a soldiers duty to follow his orders and a commanders duty to the morale of the troops under his command. When the soldier fulfills his duty it's called Service. When a commander fulfills his duty it's called Leadership.

See, asking "what is McCain talking about" you made it known you're ignorant on the subject of leadership. But the naive analogy came from your mistrust of republicans and your loyalty to politics.

  • What a dick head

  • Did McCain want them to vote on going to war in Iraq or staying in Afghanistan? It's the military FFS the command never consults the troops on policy. He's such a lying sack of shit.

  • Someone needs to shut this asshole McCain down. I'm tired of him being so damn grumpy and bitchy and everyone just taking it. PWN him already! Bring it

  • We don't NEED a "referendum" on the military to allow openly gay soldiers to serve! If the military doesn't like it, fuck em! They can GO HOME, as lady gaga once said. We don't need douchebag homophobic troops. Save that hsit for the Taliban.

  • You don't have a referendum before you desegregate and allow people to openly serve or be present simply b/c a few don't like it. Did we have a referendum of all white people before we passed the CRA? NO! That would be insane. Did we do a referendum of whites before the bracero program start? NO

Did we do a referendum of all whites when Truman desegregated the military? of course not. No one would even DARE suggest such a thing today.

  • @whoo689 - LOL yes, because Lady Gaga is an important expert on the military to paraphrase, whoo, you're such a moron

  • Firsties! John McCain is so god damn smug. He thinks he has it all figured out when in reality he's an crotchity old man with no clue what 18-25 year old service members are thinking.
