@jacqsprat44 A file can be compressed to move it around from place to place. If a file is compressed you need to unpack it or uncompress it before using it. You ca download a fre pogram called 7zip to do the job.

Well here is a problem a lot of people have. MY DVD disappeared! I have a laptop from Dell. It just went! I was given a DVD with drives on it but did I say my DVD doesn't work. I canot get on the internet either but downloaded the DVD to a usb using a PC desktop but it says It doesn't have the correct download.

I think you mean the buring program...I hope...Nero connects with dvd shrink so my first choice is nero. There are also other free ones like dvdcopy and so on.

dvd decrypter is what i've been using for years. both work great together. use dvd shrink to copy the dvd to your computer, and then use dvd decrypter to burn to a blank dvd. the only problem with dvd shrink is that it occasionally fails to copy dvd's. This primarily relates to newer dvd's with enhanced protection. However, for the majority of dvd's, dvd shrink is a great program for free

To make a backup copy of a dvd movie you need to shrink it, unless you are using blue ray or dual layer dvds. A movie does not simply fit on a normal dvd disc.

It rips a dvd movie from a disc and shrinks it to fit on a blank dvd disc. The ovies you buy are usually larger in size than the balnk discs that are available to burn on.. However if you have a dual layer burner and blank dual layer discs then you do not need dvd shrink.

dvd shrink don't work on most new movies so I also use DvD Fab and even that one wont do newer movies like "Rambo 4".

if u wanna put it on a dvd and u have a windows AT LEAST xp 2000 or more updated there is a thing called Windows Movie Maker u put the video and tell it to rip the movie to a dvd

Remember to stick to the rules for your country. In my country we can't even make a backup copy of our own movie that we have bought.
