Israel is too schizophrenic to allow Iran any prosperity. Israel could care less about Iran nuke projects, thats just another trick to take out Iran. Dont forget Israel is a thief and wants to control that entire regain before trying to take over the world but I believe the world can now see Israel for what it is and will stop them before long. Cut off all funding to Israel would be a good start.

Wow, what an interesting assessment of the situation. I didn't think things in that area were so good. If he is right Obama has a great opportunity to advance the peace process at little cost and with great glory for himself.

Its there for the taking, Syria & Iran have some of the most educated populations in the region, they are desperate for the middle class prosperity that India & China enjoy.

Iran is a major player they border both Afghanistan & Iraq, have the largest seafront on persian gulf including on the straits of hormuz and the shortest distance for a pipeline to the energy rich caspian region.

Obama could engage Iran and instantly resolve 50% of all his foreign policy issues.

The Iranies are dying to become prosperous and they are disgrunted with their ayatollahs and their nonsense. But, they are fiercely nationalistic and will not tolerate anything from anybody. If the US manages to keep the peace and Obama waves an olive branch at them for a few years the common people will see their fanatic leaders for what they are, fanatic fools, and kick them out. Iran could go Turkey's way given a few years.

The Ayatollahs are like the NeoCons, they get their power from the conservatives and keep it by scaring the population with the fear that foreign powers (US, Israel and Saddam/Iraq are threatening their existence).

Obama's message for Nowruz was the best move ever played by the US, by reaching out directly to the people he cut through the Iranian state media & political filters and offered friendship and mutual understanding - an offer no one can refuse.

Exactly. Now all Obama needs to do is to get mostly out of Iraq and allow Iran to develope the bomb without attacks. If it happens the ayatollahs are finished.

I do not fear an Iran with nuclear weapons. They are traceable and any who uses them is finished. The US and Israel have enough nukes to turn Iran into glass and ashes.

The Iranians are tired of seeing their oil wealth go to waste and their prosperity smothered by the ayatollahs. Iran will be a second Turkey.

The ayatollahs use fearmongering to rally the people but every day that goes by and nothing happens, every time that the government screams that they are threatened and nothing happens, the people loses more faith on them. Soon nobody will listen to them. Soon they will demand prosperity and freedom and refuse to accept the ayatollahs' excuses.

Then Iran will become a power in the region, like it has ALWAYS been and we will have peace with a people who are not out friends but are not foes
