This was an awesome video. I loved it. I'm getting a Nikon D40 in a couple of weeks, but I don't get to start using it until Christmas. I will check to make sure everything is there before then though, lol! I can't wait to get mine, it looks like an amazing SLR camera. Small and easy to use, but takes amazing pictures. That's exactly the kind of camera I need! lol.
There are a ton of words that are pronounced differently than the original. Are you saying people with different accents who speak english don't respect english because they don't pronounce words 'properly'? I don't mean any disrespect, but I think just because we're not pronouncing the word as NEE-kon (since it's a japanese brand), doesn't mean we're disrespecting japanese.
It's a romanization of an existing word. It's not an old English word with a large range of regional variants or a class differentiator. It's a modern way of writing a Japanese word in the Latin alphabet with a simple and precise way to pronounce it. Just because you don't understand the system under which it was transcribed, it doesn't mean there isn't a correct way to pronounce it.
you sound really arrogant like you think you speak every single word perfectly. I bet you have a mini heart attack every time someone pronounced a brand name wrong.
yeah theres a tallent your born with which you develope and enhance or you take a class in photography you cant take good pics unless you have that "eye" :).
are you retarded, if it was meant to be pronounced nick-on, it would be spelled "nickon" not nikon, due to the fact that the k stands alone to pronounce the hard "ck" sound
umm, no they don't, there is not a japanese word for "english"...they say either "eigo" which is referring to the language, or "amereeka jeen" if it's referring to if it came from america
To the person above me, I was totally trying to reply to your comment and I accidently hit spam instead. SORRY!
But I was going to say...yeah...you goy jipped. I payed around $500 for mine. and With that cost that means the spent $100,000 dollars on people who probably can't even take a decent photo. So sad.
I was a part of this project and I always wanted a camera like that and I take it with me whereever I go to get shots along the way. I absolutely love it! I am also very much interested in photography and I will take a class soon! Peace
i have a d40 and it works like a dream. if your a begginer and planning to buy a dlsr buy this one you wont have any regrets its small yet it competes with the big ones

It's pronounced differently in different areas. British - nikon, privacy (not pry-vacy), vit-amin(not vite-amin) It just depends where you live.

I have the D40...im only 14 and i have 2 slrs=D...just a comment...
But if you like photography that much, you dont need a dslr...a film slr would do good.
A good film is Nikon F75, and its very cheap. About 200 with a lens. Get it its amazing!

Yes, we got to keep the cameras. And they're great -- both my wife and I got one!

Lucky...i had to buy one.
But i bet only like 10% of the people got it, dont use it for photography, just for snapshots.
