all right just to clear a few things up as i am an orthodox jew. girls have to start fastig at age 12 its boys who must start at 13 but many familites do have a custom for their boy to fast three fasts be fore they turn 13(there are 6 fasts in a year) second generally even old people must fast on yom kippur unless their actually sick or faint. next i think most people already would guess your not allowed to use electronics on yomkippur but being that theyrea reform family they probably dont know
