  • How I long for those wonderful days when guys could play the guitar- Ritchie Blackmore = one of the best.

Thanks Ritchie for all the great riffs.

    私も、ベストメンバーだと思います。

4 years before michael jackoff done it . I will smash anyone who even attempts to argue . • これぞベストメンバーだと思う

  • Great upload, can't add anything positive to everything thats been said, but as a young British headbanger in the early 80's they didn't come much better than rainbow. Thank you

  • Ritchie Blackmore - the best guitar player ever. Five years ago he inspired me into playing the guitar. I owe all my skill to him.

  • graham Bonzilla

  • The raptor's voice...GRAHAM BONNET!!!

  • DIO,BONNET,TURNER.GREAT FRIENDS,GREAT SINGERS.WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE HAD ALL 3.GREAT POST

  • with all due respect, Ronnie laughs

  • @cincyrocked

    No he doesn't.

Ronnie was good friends with Graham. He liked his voice, even gave Graham suggestions on what to do in Rainbow after he was gone.

  • klassik....rainbow!!!!

  • My fingers are 30 cm long (From the Thumb to the Pinkie)

  • @edgarrg94

    So what? So's my dick.

  • @willnotallow Great! that's awesome, do you like deep purple?

  • @willnotallow he said CM, not MM

  • Richie blackmore el mejor guitarrista del mundo, creador , innovador, de notas musicales, bravísimo all night long, tambien escucho blackmore night, thomas Lizarraga

  • wheres mathew and bungle?

  • OMG, I saw them live in 1980 in Brighton. Fainted, and had to be carried out. Oh well, great song, though.

  • To me, this is the best Rainbow's song. But this particular performance was kind of sloppy, i think. Graham was great but sounded very tired for some reason. And The Godfather had not the best night at all. Especially the intro- very sickish of him. Look at my nick - I admire the guy, but when he's bad he's bad :) The only guy who rocked there was Roger :) But hey, who gives a shit about some play. This is All Night Long, people!!! :)))

  • bonnet's look was so cool... between these hairy bears...

  • I gotta ask, why does a vocalist in a rock band have to look a certain way? Why can't he have a sleazy lounge singer look? Its his voice that counts...

  • @SvenTviking I agree! I saw this lineup in 1979. At first is was weird when he came out. But once he started singing WOW!

  • @SvenTviking and his voice is a shit

  • @emiblindside Who? Graham Bonnet? I think perchance thou talk from thine anus.

  • The only people close to Graham Bonnet are Tom Jones or Tony Christie. You can imagine Bonnet singing "avenues and alleyways". Or Tom Jones singing "all night long" very macho voices.

  • Wonder why Bonnet never grew his hair. He was obviously into rock and roll with that dynamite voice; he made his mark on the hard rock world as Blackmore's bitch, then - what? Was he just making time while looking for that perfect accountant's job?

  • Bonnet had a great voice. His image was bizarre... he looked like he just walked out of a disco, or some sleazy cocktail lounge. His look never fit the voice. I think he's a good singer - I saw with Alcatrazz - twice, with Yngwie on guitar - and it was kick ass.

  • @jkaravis Saw them to.

  • BRILLIANT TUNE! THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!

  • @DonMario1992 You smoked waaaay too many doobies.

    Ha ha!

  • Graham sounds like God!

  • 2:31,his expression always cracks me up "I guess you know what you want to see"

  • ...me gusta el metal ingles la banda, siempre desde chavito no he parado de escuchar a este grupo!!!

  • Bonnet's voice sounds like a match that you scratch... then... boooooooom

    100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 stars...

  • The best EVER line up of Rainbow. Shame it lasted so short...

  • isnt this the show that ritchie decided to get rid of graham ?

  • Graham Left!!! He wasn't sacked at all! He left durring the next album sessions

  • no he was left because of the drunken perfomance

  • Graham Bonnet? Graham Bowie!!

  • Oh Zippy on drums!

  • @willnotallow you do mean the greatest rock drummer of all time?

  • Richie is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • 'Bring the mushy peas on'.... Pissed my self!!!!

  • I like how Graham says "I need a girl who can give me head, all night long" instead of sticking to the original lyrics, haha, that's great.

  • Isn't that stage a case for health & safety?

  • If you had a powerful voice like this, what else would you do with it, sing falsetto???

Come on, we can be happy, that this man uses his voice in the best possible kick-ass way:D

  • PQP [ponto]

  • Wow!!

Glover´s backing vocal is just like Glenn Hughes!

    =O

  • Bonnet left during the recording sessions of Difficult To Cure...He wasn't fired. The Performance in Doninghton was great as you can hear!

  • GRAHAM BONNET was fired after this gig due to drunken performance. Man, don´t screw with Ritchie.

  • You're thinking of GB's time with MSG, not Rainbow.

  • DIO IS THE MAN!!!

  • GRAHAM BONNET is the man,and Mr.Blackmore was very long,looking for,his kind of rough,rock'n'roll singer-all others are great,but totally different style.matter of opinion,but prefer him,above all-brilliant!

  • oh my goodness ive got a sore throat just listening to graham bonnet!! his voice! wow! he has some vocal chords!!!

  • Wow! Blackmore - MONSTER!!!

  • everythings better with bonnet-on it

  • blackmore search the best voice around the world for Rainbow... and found a great voice in australia, he found to Graham Bonnet...

  • Can't agree with that, Bonnet has a perfect voice for something like Rainbow.

Very strong but clear and no high pitch like some.

    A class voice!

  • You are right. He doesn`t sing. He just screams!

  • @MrPallonivel and how many of ritchie blackmore's bands have you fronted for?

  • Graham is the man!

  • The sexiest song ever..

  • graham is so cool.doesn fit with the band but he is great!!!

  • he is cool in his own way,in a james dean kind of mould..unique!

  • blackmore is so great on guitar!!!

  • I saw them on this tour, my first concert.

  • wish i was ther withya pump

  • I was at this gig, and you wanted to hear the pigs ear Bonnet made of Stargazer. That aside it was a great era of hard rock/metal. April Wine were great on the day

  • been a Rainbow fan from day 1 and Bonnet was and still is a class singer!

  • is it just me or does the singer look like the guy in the latest batman movies?

  • 4:12 til 4:15 is the way how to dance.

  • exactly lol

  • EI ARNAU K PASAAAA

  • I know the words are "I need a girl who can keep her head" but in this version it sounds like "I need a girl who can give me head"... ;)

  • He does sing 'give me head'

'Your mind is dirty but your hands are clean'

    I love those lyrics

  • Yea on the radio and studio album he sings "keep her head" Also at the beginning, he sings looking up with Your eyes on me. In this verison he sings looking up with Your eyes on my meat. Gotta love it,plus the I dont know about Your brains but You look alright !

  • Is`nt it lazy he`s plaing in the begining?

  • one of many versions yes

  • BEST SINGER HE HAD - DIO!!!!!

  • It would not Id sorry

  • Lmao I remember my dad telling me about the bit at the end where he goes I've had enough lets bring the mushy peas on, since he went and saw them. Id be good if they released the footage on DVD since they filmed it.

  • there was a compilation album released featuring the acts at the monsters of rock show and that is on that.

  • Can anyone tell me were I can get the Monsters of Rock album Castle Donnington...

1980. I was there, what a show!!!! top night

    I will never forget it

  • I have it on cassette

  • try utorrent hope this helps regards Tony

  • Thanks Bigtw

  • I have it,I wasnt there you were,

its yours if you want it,I definetly

have it on vinyl, somewhere in the house.

  • cynsbro Thanks mate

  • didn't Bonnet get fired for being drunk(and shitty) at this gig? He was a terrible replacement for Dio. Joe Lynn Turner was better, but too soft - his voice reminds me of Don Dokken.

  • Absolutely not!!! He was great at this gig!!! And in all other gigs!!! He left after the tour!!! He didn't like the new musical direction...Ritchie offered hin to sing only the song he wanted but he refused...Bonnet was better than Turner and maybe Dio...More powerful with a longest range!!! Check out will you still love me tomorrow from the same gig and shout up!

  • better than Dio?! sorry... NO

  • Both Dio and Bonnet were really great!

  • Bonnet has a good voice, but a cheesy style. I guess it fit the direction Rainbow went in, but....oi.

  • He left Rainbow after a good year or so. I think you are thinking of his tenure in the Michael Schenker group. He was sacked after the first gig or something like that...

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • so cute though we can hear them that much! Roger and Don on backing vocals!

  • There's only one Ritchie. And he can be everything he wants: Rainbow, Purple or whatever. Just the same magic! Rod,David,Ronnie,Joe or Doogie, though extremely talented, were surely lucky and blessed enough to work with a genius of his kind. Ian Gillan is the only one who could compete/complete in a peer to peer contest. My humble opinion.

  • So right.. you only have to hear a couple of seconds from this clip to know it's RB - his style is strong & unique

  • yyyyyeeeeesssss

  • グラハム最高!後頭部がサンドウィッチマン伊達

  • Never seen this before,me good fan!!!

  • ha ha ha! Better, but not with RAINBOW ;)

  • Ritchie is Ritchie the king of guitar

  • Lords of Hard Rock. Blackmore rules.

  • This song is great and Bonnet is a great singer but DIO is synonymous with Rainbow

  • That's correct!

DIO is synonimous and Bonnet is antonimous :)

Bonnet looks and sounds like 60's rokkannnrrrrollarrrrr

  • Bonnet is synonymous with Rainbow and this song is awesome...

  • Bonnet was AMAZING, both with Rainbow and with Alcatrazz! He is a POWERHOUSE of a vocalist! As was also Joe Lynn Turner. Two of the BEST in the business, then and now.

  • spot on comment. Bonnet was a vocalist who commanded the respect of his peers. And this song is fukin awsome

  • I've ad enough,,lets bring the mushy peas on!!

  • hmm...naughty line compared to the studio version - "I need a girl who can give me head.." instead of "keep her head" tsk!!!

  • I remember when I used to say this rainbow was better than that one etc etc, I remember buying Long live rock and roll when it first came out!! I remember everyone saying that Grahem Bhonnet had killed off rainbow!! I went to the first monsters of rock in 1980, now days I like to watch and listen to all of it!

  • Best rainbow singer ever!!!!

  • WTF are you talking about?

  • he's saying that you sucked at 1979 -1983..! but I think they were best from 1975 - 1981..!!!

  • I remember watching this on Saturday morning TV "Rockworld". My best buddy taped it with a portable cassette recorder in front of the TV. I still listen to that tape. Never thougth I'd get to see the video again. Thanks!

  • Whoops, that's Graham Bonnet, but my comment works for him too!

  • Joe Lyn Turner has a good voice, but he's pure cheese.

  • Remeber watching this on bbctv doing my school homework. Changed my life...amazing. The masters for the whole performance cannot be traced :-(

  • fuck this shit RAINBOW sucked at 1979-1983.... the best years of RAINBOW was 1975-1978(with ronnie james dio)listen to that instead.

  • thats kind of single minded

  • Graham Bonnett love him or hate him. He looks like a Roxy Music reject LOL

  • as hard rock goes for the time full marks.

their is no 1 hits the notes like blacmore.

they all try. never be replaced

  • The video is cut short! There was a wicked blues solo from Blackmore right after that.

Don Airey looks like he's 12!

  • Re: stratmaster- yeh I had it on vinal "Monsters of rock" it also had stargazer on it too

  • Bonnet's voice was not too bad here for a sound system at a huge outdoor venue--very loud.

This was a great line-up. "Down to Earth" was one of the best Rainbow albums.

Some have commented on Bonnet's "look". He was ahead of his time. He'd actually cut his hair before this performance and ticked off Blackmore.

  • i wish this line-up would have stayed together for a lot longer than they did

in the words of Bonnet at this exact same show:

LONG LIVE ROCK 'N' ROLL! LONG LIVE RAINBOW!!

  • Very nice singer! Awesome voice!

  • paul mcartney is the best pop/rock singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • take a listen to to Graham version of "Oh Darling" and you'll change your mind...Paul is a fine singer, but Graham is over the top!

  • who cares who wrote what lyrics? i love rainbows music, all the different singers made different styles 2 rainbow, the songs are good to lysen to, they are pwoerful, enspiring, so stop saying who is better nd thigns, they are bloody gr8 band, i would choose them over any other!!

  • And let me add, at Donington in 1980 most of the crowd were there for Judas Priest anyway. Rainbow died the minute Dio left/was sacked.

  • I would of stayed for the scorpions and rainbow even if it was bonnet.

  • Graham Bonnet was, is and always will be a wanker. Treated Rainbow as a big joke. Not that it made much difference, Glover wrote the pathetic lyrics and Blackmore had already decided he wanted the band to sound like fuckin Foreigner. If Blackmore hadn't offered Bonnet the Rainbow job he'd probably be stacking shelves in a supermarket right now.

  • you are the wanker with that ridiculous opinion what do you do for a living apart from the above

  • great man, the only I found here with my same opinion about this GB alias barking dog!Blackmore was a fool to play with this little Elvis dressed like a flag who was making his best efforts to shit believing he was singing...who appreciates this nothingness is a pure empty musical head..."Down to earth" is the worst album Ritchie ever made and Bonnet was a big crap on hit...the worst singer

  • Damn talk about a classic..cant get any better than this

  • Rainbow without Dio isn't Rainbow.

  • In my opinion Bonnett sucked as a singer! I'm glad that he left that quick!

  • You suck!!! Bonnet is the best Rock/pop singer ever!

  • "Rock/pop"! Maybe thats the problem! I hate pop.

And if you look at all the lineups and singers Rainbow have had, Bonnett is the worst of them, and he simply couldn't fill out Dio's shoes.

    That's just my opinion :)

  • Absolutely false,...He gave incredible versions of stargazer, Man On the Silver Mountain, Catch The Rainbow (you can find the extended version here), Long Live Rock'n Roll...He can sing whatever he wants...and sing in a lot of styles...I'm a singer since 13 years, I can tell you he's the most incredible one I've ever heard!

  • ehi big idiot liar...13 or 16 years? You don't know even this and you are pretending to discuss about music!! Go listening to Spice Girls, it's more adequate to your intellectual level....

  • hahahah, I started singing at 14 and studying at 17, but that's not important...you can hear me singing in some videos in my profile...of course you will say I'm barking too....hahaha....graham rocks at all

  • you are better than your out of tune pop hero...Mr.Flag Bonnet can't sing. Anyway for barking on this two chords song there's no need to study but to have enough money to buy a good PA system...6:44 Bonnet seems like that italian bifolk singer you surely love ....what's his name? Maybe Al bagno?

  • Fantastic band, such a shame that this was the last gig

they played,as a unit. With Cozy's departure, they lost a real integral part.Graham did the pre-production vocals to Difficult to Cure, but said that the fun within the band had left with Cozy's departure. He quickly followed.Don Airey later stated, that Richie should had acted quicker,to try to keep the band together.Ritchie tried, but it was too late.

  • Bonnett was really good, pity he didn't stick around for a bit longer

  • What a gas- I was at this gig and saw myself in the crowd pan shot - 27 years later eh"

  • im sorry but whenever i search for ritchie blackmore cuz i wanan get interested, i just cant. all i hear are these sloppy open chords. like he hits too many extra strings and it makes him sound sloppy. yngwie made 2 songs that strongly represent this one. On the run again, and touch the sky. its cool riffs but i duno how yngwie worshipped this guy. glad he got out of that phase

  • thats because when you search ritchie blackmore the first videos that come up are his guitar destruction stuff and his bullshitting in the 80s look at my favorited videos in my profile to see some awesome ritchie stuff.

  • Bonnett was kicked out of Rainbow because both Blackmore and Glover pretty much hated his guts.

He later did a Jim Morrison imitation by dropping trou at a concert when he in Alcatraz with Yngie Malstreem

  • Bonnet Was never kicked out!!! He was Bonnet himself that wasn't so happy with the band musical direction and went away!

  • There are different sides to every story.

  • Kiss Ass Video!

  • Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow con Dio es la mejor banda de todos los tiempos
