Money can really buy you the car of tyour dreams, but money can´pt buy skill to drive it!!! It´s better this guy buy a 100CC car with 10HP to start learning!
The idea was to demonstrate the sight and sound of a car that most people would never get the chance to hear running, not to try and impress anybody. just one last thing the Friday night on the second of the two runs at 150mtrs in to it before backing out of the throttle the logger seen 130.2 mph.
If we are invited back next year please come say hello I will take the time to show you around the car .
@jadechrysler88 I didn't realise the last part of my post went missing, I may not have GP experiance (as I assume you don't), but I do have racing experiance... 60 HP corsa's are not my type of thing thanks. :)
I was actually in the demonstration too, in this case supporting the kart club, though I am experianced in single seaters as well as karting... so would appreciate you get rid of the stereo-typical point of view of a teenager please (ref: Corsa).
Just to answer a couple of your points and this will be the last thing I will have to say on the matter I am not used to what I say being called into question I can assure you 94.6 was mph and not kmph But I supose this is quite hard to grasp if you are accustomed to 60bhp in a Corsa and not 640bhp in a 500kg F1car all be it an old F1car. It was never the intension to impress anybody at the event that is dangerous terretory to enter in a GP car ! (please see next post)
This driver turned up to the Jersey Festival of Speed this year and I must admit I was not impressed by him at all...... poor car control, only did 3 very timid laps around the 20 second circuit..... left the crouds very disapointed as they had been waiting 5 hours for him as he was suppose to be the "main feature of the show!"...
@JJMonty91 Perhaps the poring rain, Sick tyres, and road course in places only a foot wider than the F1 car
might have had something to do with the hold up but I supose a GP car driver of your experence probably would have ignored all of that and carried on regardless , and I do apolagise for the meer 95mph showing on the data logger up the 100mtr back straight I will try harder next time if I am invited that is. Have a nice day :-) .
Atleast it didn't go into a concrete wall at high speed, just some hay and a little fence at low speed, shouldn't take long to put right. Those cars are pretty animalistic anyway, even the best drivers can have off days.
Just to let you know the driver is a good friend of mine and the rear track rod snapped sending him off into the bales uncontrolably, so dont start assuming things then posting it online without the adiquate information,
And he wasnt showing off if your a motorsports fan which i know your not by the way your speaking youd know hes warmin the tyres up and this was a practice run .

This has been flagged as spam show
94.6 mph, ok fair enough - ashame that could not be whitnessed on the main straight!
Perhaps I was expecting too much but personally found 3 laps too little!
However if you do come over next year, then I shall take you up on that offer! (albeit with something to protect my face no doubt!)

@jadechrysler88 95mph?!?! On the Friday Drag Sprint maybe but no way on the Sunday! KPH I would believe however...
A tad over the top however with your forecast on the weather... there was drizzle in the morning but was bone dry by the afternoon.
A GP driver I may not be (though intend on becoming one), but like many other people there - was left disapointed.
Thanks for listening :)

I think he is jarno trulli because that car is a lotus
vipernimitz 11 months ago
Hmmm... i guess that with the small run-off area, that was pretty unrecoverable. Good thing he was going slow.
Maybe a Lewis Hamilton or an Alonso would have somehow avoid crashing the car, but has soon as the left (?) rear track rod failed... bye bye control!
Oh... and the crash seems pretty silly if you dont know what happened! lol
Looks like... "ok, full braking... then drop the hammer... oh shiiiit!!!!"

@CooperJamesRallyTeam Not being funny, but did they not consider that the track rod had snapped because of the crash?

@TandemDawgBMG Brand new? This is vintage racing at Goodwood. That car is from the 90s, the early 90s.

@964fan my bad i meant i wasn't paying attention to the year of the car i just saw the crash
TandemDawgBMG in reply to 964fan (Show the comment) 9 months ago
@964fan Late 80s, actually. It's the 1989 Lotus-Judd 101, driven by Satoru Nakajima (#12).
