  • I got several of his books, and after " Zany Afternoons" I just had to have " thin ice " , his autobiography. Bruce was fascinated by the US in the twenties and thirties, or should I say "OF "the twenties and thirties. And especially , by NYC. He always wrote about the rich people in that town like the Astors, Big Jim Fisk, J.P. Morgan and their ilk. He did that extremely well and in a very humorous way.

  • just incredible.

    Bruce, you've invented my religion!

  • Those wonderful days of the Battle of Britain in 1940 when a Meschers ME 109 bursts into the house of commons and buzzes around, just to piss off Churchill." - Such a brilliant, zany sense of humour. : -)

  • ''The Zeppelin Shoot - They Fell So Much More Gracefully Than Grouse,''

  • make me regret my lack of artistic appreciation. if more "art" was like this-thought provoking, entertaining and COMPREHENSIBLE, i would be more into art.

  • 99% of the 'art' you and everyone else sees, has been designed to make you want to buy something.

  • you mean if more art was dependent on bourgeois humor to attract and entertain? there's certainly more pop art that caters to what your brain can handle. no point in knocking down art that flies past your head out of insecurity.

  • it is rather bourgeois, isn't it? I do enjoy it in any case.

  • He's a great artist, such an awesome body of work!

  • pretty kewl

  • brilliant

  • Very cool.

  • He is great!

  • This guy's work is awesome. I dig it.

That final animation on "The Ascent of Man" reminds me of Sid Meier's Civilization series : )

  • I VERY rarely give anything 5 stars.

The fact that 90% of videos have 5 stars just makes the whole rating thing pointless. So I do my best to give all videos accurate raitings.

  • Wooot~~!!! That was hilariously awesome

  • This guy is brilliant. Or maybe I am pulling meaning out of things that are just for fun.

  • 4:02 Wait until the DUI drivers start smacking them into each other, and they start dropping on houses!

  • this is the best ted talk i've seen so far.

  • red winez bad fer you

  • Red wine has resveratrol and other properties that trigger your body to fight aging so you age slower

  • genius!

  • yeah this was par at best. 3 stars

  • Fantastic! Love the different styles of artwork

  • What a great sense of humor this man has.

I've always had great respect for the people who can actually express the way that they feel about the world and mankind through artwork.

  • NICE!

    I love the ending,

    how humanity acclimatize through time.

  • This was really interesting.

  • I think I'm starting to understand the generational thing. In the end it has to do with approaching technology with a victim-like mentality. Everything from the world war tanks with its resulting devastation, to innovations displacing workers presumed as a problem to capitalism (not really mentioned here) and the scene with the escalator collapse.

  • Warren Ellis writes about stuff like this, including the ever popular exclamation, "Where's my jetpack?"

  • Enjoyed this one very, VERY much!

    Thank you!

  • They all were good, the escelator was the best ! :D

  • Obviously, the predictions presented here are the worst of the worst; the most uninformed, uneducated and emotional of their times. There's been a whole lot better futurology on offer than this for almost a century and he's just picking the most bizarre, out of line and laughable examples.

  • I'm guessing that's the point - it's a future that never happened, and he's sad, because if you look at it, it seems to me that these "dreams" came from his childhood cartoons, like the Jetsons. He never said that this is how the future is gonna be like. But whatever, that's just what I got.

  • ...and 'dats why we like 'em so shut it.

  • Um, he's an artist. He made all of these up.

  • this guy, to me- is a genius.

  • best video ever

  • neat stuff. I love his artwork.

  • Entertaining presentation, i really enjoyed this.

  • The end was almost worth waiting for...

  • good art and ideas, poor speaker. :(

  • You are mad if you think that was poor speaking.

  • Makes me wonder about the optimism of today...
