  • My question isn't whether there IS or IS NOT a God.

I don't care. If challenged, I happen to think that this is no God, or Gods.

Even if 'God' appeared in front of me and said 'Hi, I'm God, Worship me' I wouldn't.

I mean, who would willingly worship a being that not only created Hell, is fine with people being sent there for all eternity to be tortured.

This kind of God must one sick SOB.

  • You can't define a supernatural being into existence. You can't define ANYTHING into existence.

  • @Perrine234 Exactly. This argument deserves to be ridiculed. Theism deserves to be ridiculed, not debated.

  • There is no proof for god. Faith is not evidence, and even if the bible's true (which it's not), god's been AWOL for about 2000 years. Where are the miracles? The amputees who've regrown their limbs?

  • Awesome! My first comment! I'm not going to take up my time getting into this with you. I'd have to say the ontological argument isn't the best for proving God's existence, but if you read up on it more or talk about it with someone more knowledgeable than me, you might give it more props.

  • I'm sorry, but that was just horrible. You cannot equate the concept of existence with actual existence.

If I conceive of a unicorn, and define it as the most beautiful creature that could exist, and a creature that exists must be more beautiful than one that does not, is it then fair for me to say that unicorns must exist? Of course not. Nor can you define God into existence like this.

The ontological argument is one of the most ridiculous arguments for God out there.
