The blue star is actually the sun as it eclipses the center of the milky way galaxy on Dec 20, 2012. It is a celestial event - a sign in the skies - to which the Hopi are looking for an indication that the end of the Forth World (our modern age) has come to an end. The sun will reach its apex in its galactic orbit on this date, and our solar system, including Earth and all the other planets, will shift on their axes, and begin moving back toward the center of the galaxy, instead of away from it
