Morden's story is kind of sad. His wife and daughter were killed in a terrorist attack on the jump gate at Io. He old sided with the shadows because they promised that they would end his wife and daughter's suffering if he did. The shadows tricked him into thinking that they were in eternal pain, and that the shadows could save them. Sheds a whole new light on his character.
Nice video, and Ed Wasser was excellent as the subtle Morden. A thin veneer of being charming and personable, backed up by cold ruthlessness and The Shadows underneath.
I spent the whole day with Ed after a convention. He was with a friend Ike who was going to produce a film called the Mop Tops, and wanted background info on the Beatles so I took them to Liverpool and we did the Beatles tour. Ed was such a cool guy to spend time with and such a school boy mentality it was great. We took pictures and he sent me a signed one in front of Strawberry Fields. Brill memory. Thanks for the video
That sounds so cool, I really did love Morden as a character and Ed pulled off an excellant job as him...he should have been a Cylon or something...he would have been awesome on that show
When he came to the conventions in Blackpool I was head of security and all I can say is this guy has one hell of a sense of humour, he took my radio off me one time and started saying some pretty sexy stuff in to it to one of security girls on duty, oh boy did she blush, I had to swipe it off him and tell him off. He wrote some raunchy stuff on a photo to me another time. Sent a letter to him not so long ago.
Morden was a truly sinister character. I absolutely loved the scenes where he visits the narn and centuair ambassadors and asks them "what do you want?"
Morden is a tragic character...and he chose to be part of the Shadows...the Vorlons and the Shadows are equally bad...Vorlons respect discipline with no freedom and the Shadows respect freedom but respect chaos as well. Morden lost everything when he went on the Icarus. The Shadows were his way out.
"What do I want? I want to live just long enough to be there when they cut your head off and stick it on a pike, as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I want to look up into your lifeless eyes and wave like this (waves) can your associates arrange that?"
@manwhoooo Indeed, and ironically, Vir was the only one who actually got what he asked for! :) 11 months ago <------ correction: Vir was the only who actually got what he asked for and was satisfied with it.
Molari and G'Kar spent the remainder of their lives grieving for answered wishes. You could even say the same about Clark...If the Shadows never left he would have never been unseated
Londo got his "Renaissance of Power" for the Centauri, albeit at a high price that almost destryed his homeworld!
G'Kar got what he wanted: the destruction of Centauri Prime, which was done by certain members of the Alliance in series 5 under the machinations of the Drakh!
Awesome vid, a fitting tribute to a great character

This was a great video and truly fitting for the best "villian" of the series.

About time this song was associated with Babylon 5!
By the way, in order to have given this clip a 10+, perfect, THE CLIP SHOULD HAVE ENDED WITH MORDEN'S HEAD ON THE PIKE!
Anyhow, BRILLIANT EDITING AND CLIP!

@brav0wing

Great Morden tribute. I'm still not sure wether I like him or not, but after the Day of the Death, I think I actually do XD

Fantastic video! One of the best fanvids I've seen yet, for any character. The song was perfect. :)
Ed Wasser played the sexiest villian in all of scifi. *drool* I just wish they didn't kill him off in the 4th season. ;n;

I always liked Vir Cotto's rebuttal:
"What do I want? I want to live just long enough to be there when they cut your head off and stick it on a pike, as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I want to look up into your lifeless eyes and wave like this (waves) can your associates arrange that?"

Actually, they all got what they wanted, but the only person happy with what they wanted was Vir. ;)
