every people have something dear to them, that makes them not want to give up, it makes them want to try harder to achieve their goals - and it could be anything: a book you read, a movie you've seen, a love interest or some kind of passion (drawing, cooking, whatever)
i think he just couldn't find anything that made him appreciate his life
I'm pro choice in all aspects of life.I admire u for ur willingness to accept his choice. U seem like a very understanding person. I'm sorry for ur loss.
agreed michaeldhda. i feel and see it the way you describe it. until we scrutinize the demon inside us will it ever go away, but i feel once i conquer it, am i so used to feeling depressed that being depressed makes me happy?
The older we get, the harder it is to blind ourselves to life's cruelties. I respect the man's decision. May he rest in peace, for he never would have found it here.
I, like everyone else, have entertained this notion in my life- I don't think I would have guts enough to pull it off, short of a terminal illness. Anyway, MY theory; You have this DEEP,personal problem that has been eating at you your entire life. There are times when these demons are dormant & incubate inside you. Then, one day, SOMETHING SNAPS. The problem(s), are awakened, & grows to the point where you have NO enjoyment in life whatsoever. No one UNDERSTANDS. You become detached....
I think the state of mind that you're talking about... the feeling of utter loneliness is what people who commit suicide are trying to escape. I guess some people can't snap out of it. It makes sense that so many teenagers commit suicide, because they have difficulty understanding of the potential for the future because they've had no taste of freedom and what not. Anyway drinking is also a nice way to nurture those hopeless thoughts.
I dont believe in committing suicide. If anything, people who want to die should just do anything that they want to without any fear. They should have a "nothing to lose" attitude. Then maybe they'll enoy life more and feel less depressed. That's what I try to do.
good way of looking at it...but the reason they commit suicide is they believe they cant do that...be a very interesting world if they did that instead of commiting hary kary
I guess that it older people commit suicide for different reasons than younger ones.A young person may have problems at home,or get picked on all the time,or lose a girlfriend, etc.,whereas an older person may have loss of functioning and pain from illness.Sorry about your father.
I'm sorry for your loss Manque, i can tell from you post that this is still with you. Have you sought some sort of counsel for yourself to deal with this loss? This post is a sign that maybe you need this, no offense to you. 76 is a full life , i believe that it's okay if your ill in a terminal sort of way, but should try to live if it's depression that has you wanting to commit suicide.
well i can tell you what ia think about suicide. Peopel think its becasue of sadness.. well not at all.. If you feel empty or a real boring life than you can comit suicide too, i tried it 2 times first time god helps me.. and second time he not only helps me he also gave me some ways for fill my emptiness... which i call youtube :-)
One of my freinds killed themselves last year and he was 18. My best friend tried to kill herself when we were 15 and i found the suicide notes...and my mom used to say she was going to when i was younger. I just think its a terrible waste cos anything could happen in the future and things could change for the better so it upsets me to think of what people who kill themselves might have missed out on. I can undertsand why they would do it though.
I'm sorry to hear that and it is so true what you say about things getting better but I suppose their mind set at the moment the want to kill themselves doesnt allow for them to even contemplate a happy future or even that their life will get better..ty for you comment
