  • Capt. Ben,

Have you done any fishing for cobia. If so any tips for the experienced cobia fisherman.

  • We have caught one on this show. I don't really fish for them much. This year we may go to Destin and film during the Cobia run. I would tell you more if I had it.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Well, if you would like another area to film for the cobia run come see me in Biloxi, MS. I fish with a group of guys that would like to be on a fishing show. I am new to the cobia fishing compared to the other guys on the boat, but fishing with them made an expert out of me quick.

  • I would love to. If there wasn't about $2,000 in expenses production and travel costs. Maybe one day if the budget get's better we will look into it. Thank you very much for the invite.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • they got some awesome big fish spot, but the fat guy don't know how to fight a fish properly for goodness sake

  • Actually he is a very good fisherman and has won many tournaments here in SW Florida. However, it was his first time with an Avet Reel and heavy drag on a 300 pound fish. Everyone is shocked when they get hooked up.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Thanks capt. My Mom lives in Sarasota, I will look ya up when I visit.

  • Fantastic! Where is this filmed? Great Show Incredible fish.

  • Sanibel, Ft. Myers FL

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • garintee my grandpa walma could do that but hes in michigan and he unmemployed

  • why is there a bait buster cast net in this episode i thought you had a black pearl cast net

  • True, but this show is over 2 years old. The owner of Black Pearl sent me that net back then

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • im sorry that wuz hilarious when he lost the second fish. hahahahaha.

  • when you fish for those jacks what size sinker are you using

  • We don't use sinkers when we fish for jacks. Sometimes we use sinkers to fish with the jacks, then we use 4-8oz sinkers.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Thanks man, I got a good idea with a ropefishin' technique Ill be out at the phophate docks with some 4 lb mullet this weekend tellin 'em choke on this, opps I mean Chew On This ha ha ha lol!

    Have a good one capt.

  • Captian will a senator 9/0 with the drag hammered down have enough drag pressure to catch a Goliath in the 200 lb size? Or is that idea a waste of time. I'd love to catch one. Do you have any suggestions for reels besides an Avet I can't afford a TRX or an EX. Have a guddin man.

  • The other way you will have to do it is Keep your finger on the spool the whole time and don't let them get any line off of it.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • what do you use to catch those jack capt

  • Thredfin or White Bait mostly.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Holy crap it's god in a fish form lol

  • Hey Mr. Chancy I live in Cape Coral Fl and there are alot of great inshore spots BIG goliath grouper that are very closeby I know how to get the baits for em and have tried many times with 4/0 sized reels to catch em and have had no succes in getting them close. So will a Senator 9/0 spooled with

300 lb leader and the drag hammered down be able to have sufficient drag pressure to even give me a chance? Also, I like your vids. Have guddin man!

  • Captain I have been fishing for a couple years now but im a backwater fisherman...and I use light tackle I want to purchase a avet reel and a rod to go along for like 250 pound fish...any recommendations? thanks

  • Yes I do. I would got with the TRX 30W first and if not that one try the EX 30W it is a little less hard on the wallet.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Hello captain, first of id like to say that I love your show, and I greatly appreciate you posting it on Youtube. I would like to also say that your show inspired me to purchase an Avet MXL reel, and it is in the mail on the way to my house right now. So chew on that!

    Danny

  • Great comment Danny. You should love that reel, I know I do. New shows will be coming soon.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • WHAT TV CHANAL IS THIS WFN?

  • No it's not. For some reason WFN and myself don't see eye to eye. They have the 1,000 pound Hammerhead show as a pilot and they have not gotten back with me since July.

  • Raptorian I would love to have you up here. I also hear you guys have some huge Snook down there.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • they need a fishig instructions

they are all doing by force

  • you need instructions. goliath grouper live in extreme reef and rock conditions. if you do not horse and pull and force the fish up as fast as you can, the grouper will bury itself in the reef, making it impossible to surface.

  • LOL that second ones a doozey.. lol Great show man Great Show

    Happy Thanksgiving.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • if they are all for conservation etc

why at 19:50 did he throw the hook in the water?

  • because the salt eats it away within like a week or somthing thats why when the catch sharks they cut the line not take it out

  • It breaks down in the water.

  • or the hook throw out of the mouth, normaly too for hart drillers

  • hi

first:the fish with living bait,i dont like that

second:they dont drill the fish, thats why often the line broke or the fishing rod, thats typically for amateurs

  • VERY NICE

  • nuckin futs

  • no i think he grunted

  • LMFAO did he fart at around 11:40? hahaha

  • who believes they get it back to the water is kind of dewy...I thing they filled up their stomaches like never before...yummy...i just grudge :D

  • monster hook for a monster fish!!!!haha

  • that's one big fish

  • ya i thought theyed eat pretty good and youd get some slabs but what about the blood line

  • CAN YOU EAT THEM BIG MOTHERS

  • you can but its illegal these days wish we could though heard there one of the best eating fish

  • Heh,you should notify the coastguard - that thing is a danger to shipping - it should have its own marker on the chart - holey, moley. I was surprised at how docile it was but I guess you wouldn't want that thing thrashing about. Awesome vid. Thanks for sharing.

  • i might mistake that fish for hooking the bottom my uncle had 1 on outside of the boyton inlet and it kept swiming under ledges. had to pop the line cuz it took and hour of fighting and moving the boat
