I agree, music is much more then writing a lyric (which Elvis didn't do) as well as just covering other people's songs. That's what Elvis did, and his voice wasn't even that powerful. He had a 2.5 octave range, which is not bad, but not good enough to be a king. Mariah Carey and James Brown have more octave

Also Wikipedia isn't always correct, It's only correct about 90% of the time.
