Well at the gig in vicar street that night he said " thanks for everyone who came to the pre-core and to dispell any rumours the food at kevin street garda station is excellent" which would lead me to believe he was arrested

He wasn't arrested. He was escorted away for everyone's safety. The Independent (a better source than the arse-rag Sun), were told by Kevin Street Garda Station Police staff, that "We didn't arrest him. And we CERTAINLY didn't feed him", (in response to Black saying he was fed 'some sort of Irish Stew', by the Gardai).
