  • just listen the paice's drum tremolo............

  • the last minute of the song= musical insanity ;)

  • this is a completly underated and forgotten album. I loved it when it came out. heard Lars from mettalica say it was his first album and thought I haven't heard that in years. thanks for posting these great songs from this great album.

  • Yep...bought the 8-track in 1971. Well recorded album.

  • The best drum performance ever made... try to play it

  • DP Mark 2 created their own genre, not style but an entire genre of which only they played. It could be called: HARD rhythm and symphonidelic jazz ROCK. When these five were together it was pure magic. All the songs on the first four albums were group compositions Each of the five were the equal of anyone else at what they did

  • Great song for ever

  • Never thought Purple get so psychedelic. Drum beat in combination with that hazy guitar riff is like making out with multicolored cloud.

  • @DzedajO Have to agree, the most psychedelic song Purple ever made. Great for listening while smoking some herbs.

  • @Perebynis I couldn't agree more with you, dude.

  • really a great album between 2 masterpieces

  • why hasnt this turned up in a video game yet??....amazing drums, guitar and bass work..

  • Faved for my subscribers who will actually understand those lines "now I have become a fool, because I listened to the mule."

You don't find out you've played the fool until you wake up....

"Now I have become a fool" is the part where you realize you've been duped your whole life with an illusion called "normalality."

  • i first heard this just before seeing the allman bros in iowa city, iowa back in 72.I believe it sounds as great now as it was then.dropped a hit before the concert,,outstanding!!!!!! both deep purple and the concert!!!!

  • my favorite album of all time really it never got the popularity it deserved but i believe that more specialized people appreciate this one!

  • at 200 - 240 it sounds like somthin jim morrison would do in the song the end

  • Ian Paice is BETTER than Neil Peart!!

  • @jeffreygaudreault Debatable. But quite possibly.

  • @jeffreygaudreault debatable. both are amazing, one underrated, one overrated.

  • @jeffreygaudreault Ian Paice is Better every drummer.

  • this for me is the ultimate rush, spaced out of my mind, thanks for this tune i have still yet to land...........

  • Ritchie Blackmore is BETTER than Jimi Hendrix!!

  • Fireball was a milestone in DPs career:-)

  • @rojblake82 Servalan should catch you and teach you that the truth regarding this track is the converse of what you say.

  • @rojblake82 You are Crap rojblake..Go suck your own Dick...:-)

  • @frodeify You are cheeky matey.

  • @rojblake82 if you say so. go on, name billions of ways that its crap and come back to me when your dead and i might but probably wont consider your proposition.

  • Fabulous track. They should've done an entire album of that funk break. That break is one of the most explosive bits of music ever recorded. Fireball is their best studio album, but that's because Machine Head sounds lame compared to the high energy versions of the MH tracks on MIJ.

  • @CultureJudge This track the mule is absolutely crap and the lines another slave to the mule are alien and pathetic I have not listened to this track for over twenty years and do not intend to again. The rest of this album is ace but the mule is the worst track of all and it is one when I heard it would say no it is terrible.

  • My brother bought me '' Machine head '' for my 14 year's birthday , i discovered DP , THANK to my brother to introduce me to the heavy rock music , i ' m always please him .

  • I bought this album when it came out, and remember friends saying they thought it was their worst one.. I disagree, and think of it as one of their best, and is still the only one I continually listen to even now..

  • t

what an album man. eddie c.

  • this is arwsome man. eddie c.

  • great song 2 get high 2

  • @mrghin22 ...Are you saying that you didn't get 'into' DP until you went to Germany in 86-87, and that you had cassettes of DP, and that you went with thousands of other people to watch this DP?

  • There's an unbder-rated drummer! Ian Paice could play the hell outa those drums.

  • Yes I agree with you,It was the first rock album I bought.I still play it once in a while, when I"m in the mood for the band.

  • Hey Ledzep69Man thanks for uploading these songs!

  • @anonymouslolxD yeah thanks alot love deep purple and zeppelin

  • @TheFMBM1 sì è Gillan.

  • Gran bel pezzo, ispirato al personaggio più nero della trilogia galattica di Asimov,lo stesso Isaac avrebbe sicuramente apprezzato il sound.

  • Fireball album is awsome , and side 2 is my fav. For me The Mule is just a waste on Made in Japan album , if you're not fascinated by drumsolos. Original Mule is a fantastic piece of music.

  • Paice is genius he have two left hand !

  • Wonder who the Mule is. This song builds up towards the end.

'Almost sounds like it should have been on In Rock its that heavy.

    PAICE AND LORD GO BALISTIC.

  • This is an incredibly under-rated album. I bought it in 1971when it came out & still have it! I think Ritchie's lead guitar work on this song is up there with Jeff Beck. I love the break at 2:41. Back in the late 60's/early 70's the individual members in each band stood out..., whereas today everyone sounds like a session musician, all the same. For instance each drummer had an individual style that stood out, like Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, & Ian Paice here.

  • @Smudgefizz yup I love Ritchie blakmore's guitar at that part and Ian paice is one of the best drummers ever

  • @Ledzep69Man Couldn't agree more.

  • @Smudgefizz I completely agree. I was trying to explain that to my nephew.

  • @Smudgefizz Totally agree with your excellent comments, did you get to see MK 2 Purple in their early 70's pomp? Yeah Fireball is a great album, encapsulating elements of prog/funk and even a bit of country with Anyones Daughter. Gillan always cites it as his personal favourite album in interviews. Blackmore however doesn't regard it as highly, which is strange, as his playing on it is fantastic.

  • @Smudgefizz You are so right about that break!!!Man,I listened to this album when I was 6 in a Greek village on holidays cos my bro was like 12 when he got it.I have tried for years to find that break.I am 45 and I still remember I got goosebumps listening to that while I played air guitar standing on a outdoor mule- drawn flour mill. How is that! The song is called The Mule!!!!!I was going thru the whole album when you pointed out the break. Thanks man.Im stoked!!!

  • @Smudgefizz one of the best albums of all time, yes extremely underrated by idiots who thinks they know everything. this is a classic and always will be.

  • @Smudgefizz Hmm. Mitch Mitchell is an odd addition to the list of boyos you mentioned, but OK. I agree with you on the Blackmore guitar break along the bridge. Dynamite.

  • @Smudgefizz

I have no problem with anyone mentioning Jeff the God Beck, and the Great Blackmore in the same sentence. All other guitarists are just other guitarists. That means you EC, and Page.
