Is that the kind of America you want. Pure competition slowly devolves into the Wild West. I think both state and federal governments have a role to play. The benefit of the federal government is that it can unify a nation and also it creates national standards. It is not uncommon to have a brief talk before the meeting and say "hey I could use this kid! will you allow your child to participate? we will take care of everything just ask this question when I point to you". I think both state and federal governments have a role to play. The benefit of the federal government is that it can unify a nation and also it creates national standards. These are not bad things in my opinion. I'm all for state governments though. I just don't think the federal government is evil.

Why must it be owleyez86, that every time someone disagrees with president Obama they are a racist? I was just simply saying that it is quite sad and a very low move to use a little girl as a plant in a town hall. I would also like to see the evidence for Bush sending teens off to "die for oil". For the record I didnt support Bush and I didn't mind Obama in the begining. I would advise you to stop playing the race card because noone is buying it anymore.

How is this astroturfing? Wouldn't such a girl be interested in asking a question of the president? If you can show that she was placed there by the campaign and then told what to say by the campaign, I'd protest as well. But it's not like she was prepped beforehand, like Bush did with that Iraqi soldiers interview back in the day.

Well, she was reading a written note asking about events that had supposedly just taking place as she walked in. Why would she need a written question if she was asking about something she had personally witnessed a short time ago and that she was curious about?

She hadn't "just walked in." I'm sure they waited about an hour or more to begin, and then waited to be picked for the question. All town halls, even the local Congressman ones are like that. If a young girl were to be asking a question, wouldn't you expect her to want to write it down if she were nervous? Adults do that all the time.

For the same reason that so many other town hall questioners read their questions - adults even. Katy Abram, the lady saying she didn't want a socialist Russia was reading. Was she a plant too? Also, I think you've never been to a town hall or presidential event. People wait hours to get into these things. Plenty of time to write a question. Your argument has fallen apart.

And, while I do agree that this girl didn't really know what she was saying, isn't that just her mom's fault for coaching her? It looked like the mom just thought that having her child volunteering to answer a question would boost her party's odds of answering a question, and it worked. Besides, if you were Obama, wouldn't you answer a young girl's question? I mean, people everywhere would want to hear the views of youth, and of course, he didn't know that she just had a paper to read off of.

Yes, ACORN and SEIU are paid by the Democratic party... They give monies back to ensure the Dems are in power, who then pays them back in legislation that doles out taxpayer dollars, and it continues back and forth. The taxpayer loses and unions/political activists profit along with the life-long politicians, the Chicago way.
ACORN sends employees to the town halls, they are paid hourly. ACORN has received 54 million taxpayer dollars since their inception, and stand to receive substantially...

They come to these town halls in buses, given food and beverages, and are handed matching professional signs to use. Sometimes they pay random people to hold up these well-traveled signs....

This brings us to Kathleen Manning Hall, who is a true believer by her own words, but benefited from the paid buses and her own clout. Just her getting inside is a joke, she traveled across state lines on an astroturfer bus with tickets in while local residents stand outside.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure all the questions were pre-approved by Obama, especially that question at that moment by that child. He was probably upset she didn't memorize it. Trying to only blame the mother is just ridiculous!

Eh...isn't astroturf when the political party pays an organization to go out and protest? If so, why would her organization have donated so much money to Obama?
Couldn't she have just gotten together a group of people that really care about their beliefs shared with the Democratic Party? I may just be niave, but, it's not like every group that protests with a single coached girl (which is the fault of the mother and the mother only) is purely astroturf.
