tape echoes are very clean and hi-fi. Idk why all these new companies make imitations calling them dark, dirty, gritty. I understand tapes can wear out etc. but its still a very clean and clear repeat as compared to BBD.

Well, not all of them are clean and hi-fi, really. I depends on the feedbacke slope of the design. The EP-4 could get quite dark, as you can hear.

(don't tell anyone, but I'm kinda regretting selling it - I hope the Binson is gonna take its place rightfully. I'm doing a new recording of the RE-501 soon to capture the sound better. You've gotta hear this thing, Alex, it's so lush in real life!)

There's no 'the' Echoplex. There are 4 (actually, more) Echoplexes. ;)

I had the EP-4 and EP-3 (I still own the 3, but am not sure if I really need it).

A demo of the EP-3 will follow in the upcoming week, just as the demo of the Strymon El Capistan vs. the Echoplex EP-3 and the RE-501 and the Binson EchoRec B2 (which will come later, because it's still being fixed).
