  • sexy bitch!

  • we just finished seeing this today in our english class.amazing book and suck an amazing movie.the ending is so powerful and i completely melted for toby stephens

  • I love Toby stephens and I love The Great Gatsby

  • They both looks so great together!!!!!!

  • Is this man in every adaption of what I read!?

  • Excuse me, but please tell a pianist of this music and the name of the orchestra, the publication time; thanking you in advance.

  • very nice

  • hey he plays in Die Another Day with James Bond

  • it cant be legal to be that irresistable.... to get all of us girls to want him sooo bad.. then for us to realize we can never have such perfection..

  • This is a execrable version of the Great Gatsby (extremely bad, i'd advise you not to see it!!!) The Great Gatsby cannot be made into a brilliant film, great literary books can be like that.

  • SEXY.

All I could think throughout this movie was "He is so good-looking!"

    asidfjawe

    His smile.

    His sdfjioasi

    EVERYTHING.

    sorry lol

  • you should see Jane Eyre

  • hot stuff. :D

  • also...thx so much for posting this vid, it's great!

  • he is the most perfect guy in the whole entire world...sooo handsome and hot!

i havent seen this movie yet but ive seen most of his stuff and he can really act!.....cant wait to see it :)

  • Toby in uniform is like a dream come true. and that smile...

  • wow, he is sooo truly handsome!!! i loved him in this movie! <3

  • i like robert redford more

  • I haven't seen this yet, but I want to know,

is his performance better in this or in Jane Eyre? Cause I absolutely ADORED him in Jane Eyre.

  • nice vid nice music

  • toby stephens

    i love him

he was the perfect rochester and now gatsby

  • *sigh* I want him. 'nuff' said

  • How utterly HANDSOME he is! I saw him for the first time in the 2006 JANE EYRE series. He is marvellous there as well. Here he has a different haircut. He is just GORGEOUS!

  • This is one of the best Toby Stephens videos I've seen so far. GREAT WORK! I still need to get the DVD.

  • his eyes...his smile...mmmmmmm...

  • ohh...he's perfect...

  • He's so handsome. J'adore Toby Stephens!

  • The description was what made the novel so good

  • The movie to the book was great, and so was spark notes, but the actual book was a bit over-described. And I`m usually guilty of that myself sometimes...Sad story...I liked it though...

  • Love this book sooo much. And the movie is absolutely perfect. Couldn't have been a better Nick or Gatsby. <3

  • the only version of great gatsby that i admit as being the best, is the one with robert redford and mia farrow.....

  • i love this man!

  • Do you know if there's a region 2 dvd of it?

    I'm so desperate ...

  • good taste in your music choice.

  • Rudd was absolutely perfect for Nick.

  • Excellent video. Paul Rudd and Toby Stephens. I'm in heaven.

  • In response to celticcellocuts, yeah, haven't you seen the version of Moby Dick where they kill the whale and all go out for drinks afterward?

  • The end of this story STINKS! I have come to hate writers... I think they like to do it on purpose. They have you read a whole book, watch a whole movie, and they kill "THE" one. It's a cheap trick that costs us readers/viewers toooooo much time and money. Life is bad as it is for ourselves without having our fav people die in books/movies. I call for reform!!!

PS And movies change their course from the books most of the time anyway. They should have in this movie.

  • Oh my God.. you seem very angry with the world! I think that some writers are trying to be realistic. What i mean is, not everything ends happily ever after!

  • "Whatll we do with ourselves this afternoon? Cried Daisy, and the day after that, and the next thirty years?"

  • a really lovely movie.. the gap between Gatsby's extravaganza life style and his cowardness that leads him to make himself look like he accidentaly came across Daisy... also the look on his face when Daisy accidentaly ran over her husband's lover... T. Stephens is one of the best... thank you so much for the well-edited clip!

  • Isn't Toby Stephens british? Why is he portraying an American? Did he adapt his accent to accomodate the role, or was he speaking in his own voice?

  • nortenero, ever heard of actors? they play different roles and adopt different accents. He is Dame Maggie Smith's son. Are you AMerican? Is that why you are so DUMB.

  • Mr. nortenero, Toby Stephens is British. I can't see you point asking why he is portraying American.

Robert Redford is of Irish descent, he has portrayed Gatsby in 1974 movie. There are MANY actors who are not Americans, yet they portrait American Extremely successfully. Toby is very suitable for this role, you would know if you read the book and have some understanding of it.

  • apologies to any Americans, I didn't mean it. I loved reading The Great Gatsby and F Scott Fitzgerald is a fantastic novelist. What does it matter an actor's nationality? they are camelions by profession and paid to inhabit different roles. Sorry Nortnero for the offence. x

  • wow gutsby is so handsome and hot i wish he were my bf i would marry him lol :-P :-P ;)

it became my favourite book :-)

  • It must be a crime to be this good looking.

  • toby stephens.

i would marry him in a heartbeat.

Sucks that he has a wife.

  • he is so handsome

  • wow i luv this music n gatsby is hotttttttt <3

  • oh god i fell in love with gatsby in the book and robert redford played the part well [plus he was freggin hott!!] and this guy is so damn handsome

  • oh my god that's a perfect gatsby! i just read the book, and now it's my favorite. i'm glad they picked a really handsome guy for gatsby, i think that was necessary. my only complaints are, nick should be a little better looking, and daisy shouldn't have a high voice. also, FSF mentioned that gatsby was tanned.

anyway this movie looks great, i'll have to see it :)

  • I thought that Mira Sorvino's portrayal of Daisy was excellent, even though it was a departure from the novel. Sorvino played Daisy with more sympathy, humanity, and depth, and I can relate to that more than the completely Fitzgerald's completely superficial Daisy. In contrast, I thought Stephens's Gatsby was a bit bland compared to Robert Redford's electric playboy-swindler. Of course, I like Paul Rudd's performance the best.l

  • he is HOT!!!

  • Yeah, Mira Sorvino was all wrong as Daisy. But, Toby Stephens... can I just say WOW, WOW, and WOW!

  • She is really ugly.

  • didnt daisy have black hair? yea..i definitely do not like this chick playing daisy.

  • Me too.I don't like Mira Sorvino in this movie. But other actors are very good in it (especially Paul Rudd)exept the one that played Daisy's husband's lover

  • They are great:)

  • can someone please post this movie? i'm reading this book in class and i would greatly appreciate it if someone could put it up! this video is absolutely stunning and i would love to see the whole movie!

  • hi,

i iam also reading this book. did you you find the whole movie? i would really love to see this movie too.if you find some way, please let me know.

  • All I can say is.. whoah. Thank you, it was a pleasure!

  • Absolutely beautiful. I was hysterical, watching it... ;P

  • Beauty indeed, but she´s absolutely the wrong Daisy.

  • yea. i absolutely cannnot stand mira sorvino..she's awful. i was expecting someone way more sophisticated and classy or something. idk.

  • This is just beautiful!

  • This is such a beautiful beautiful song - I love Chopin. And the actor is, uh, pretty hot too. <333

  • It's a great pleasure to see TS-JE-P&P videos with classical music on YouTube:) That's absolutely my music taste too:D Btw,I love this movie very much! Toby was spectacular as always! 5/5! *sigh for pool scene* :P

  • I love the background music to your video. Isn't it the 2nd movement of Chopin's piano concerto #2?

  • Yes,it is.
