I played as a DB and you have to make hits like that to put fear into wide receivers. It was a perfectly timed hit as you can make without a pass interference call. Bottom line...speed kills and the Gators have it!

With my previous post said, when Major Wrights substatial contact (The kind of contact that makes for a legitimate pass interference call) is made, the ball is fully covered by Johnson's right hand.
I suppose if you removed human officials, and had electronical sensors on all the pads, and balls. that it would have been pass interference by 0.00025 seconds. If you pause it just right, you can see Major starting to barely make contact when the ball is about half a foot from hitting Major in the back of his helmet. But unforunately in this day and age, we still have old obsolete human officials who will never call that PI.

With my previous post said, when Major Wrights substatial contact (The kind of contact that makes for a legitimate pass interference call) is made, the ball is fully covered by Johnson's right hand.

I suppose if you removed human officials, and had electronical sensors on all the pads, and balls. that it would have been pass interference by 0.00025 seconds. If you pause it just right, you can see Major starting to barely make contact when the ball is about half a foot from hitting Major in the back of his helmet. But unforunately in this day and age, we still have old obsolete human officials who will never call that PI.

It was pass interference and even excessive contact, leading with the helmet. It was a tough call for the ref to make, he hit him about 0.5 seconds before the ball got there. What a hit though.

As anyone can see in that video he led with his left shoulder. In football you're coached to drive yourself through a player which is exactly what he did.
Darthhvader, what Florida teams are used to are championships. 10 in the last 26 years as well as playing for at least 4 more during that time. If it helps you cope with their success by calling them dirty whatever helps you sleep better at night.

I think it's clear as day he led with his left shoulder. Yes, his helmet makes contact with Johnson's chest as well just like a good majority of tackled have helmet contact. If it was obvious as some of you have insinuated they would've thrown a flag but since he led with his left shoulder there was no infraction there.

obviously bad angle to see, there was a picture of the hit with a better view and the ball didn't even touch johnson until after the hit. also helmet touched first, my friend, not shoulder. but anyways this should be a good season for both teams and good luck to them.
