something i forgot to add did you notice those nice little lines at 09:28 they are caused when the teeth get bent probaly in this case about 7 or 8 teeth.
and wet wood is more flexable than wood that has been dried for 6 weeks in a kiln.
the debarker wont help if you hit a nail buried in the tree, but it would be a good thing to have for surface debree. My theory as to why the cuts could be off is the band could be a little loose
I've got hundreds of hours running three different Wood-Mizer mills, they will cut excellent lumber with an experienced operator. You had a bad experience with one sawyer and are bashing the Wood-Mizer company because of your one experience. That is foolish and uneducated. As far as quality goes, I'll put any of the Wood-Mizer mills I've run, the fancy one, or the older manual mills, up against any portable bandmill on the market.
Woodmizer is far TOO OVERATED!! If you look closely you can see the saw head bouncing up&down, Look at the finished lumber closely,,you can see the wavy finish, I had a guy saw for me with a woodmizer and some boards were 1" at the beginning end and 1 1/4" at the other. Theres alot of better machines out there, Check around before you buy a Woodmizer, Look at some of the 2&4 post heads You'll see what i mean
@BIGART1950 Overated? maybe.... This particular mill is fully loaded and automated with accuset. It is capable of 550 board ft per hr. However, if you had a guy cut 4-1/4 for you and it was wavey it was most likely a dull blade. I think what you may be refering to here as the head bouncing around? This particular mill is equiped with a debarker, it clears a path for the leading edge to prevent debris from dulling the blade therefor prolonging the life of the blade. A great feature I must say!
how much are wood mizers like that? are there better ones? Faster?

@BIGART1950 There are many reasons for the saw to be bouncing up and down. He prolly was using a dull band.
