Kathryn, thank you for the reply. I am aware of the irony of the situation. Can I just add that you are one of only a handful of candidates with election videos on YouTube who actually allow comments to be made to their videos. Some won't allow any comments and others will only post a comment after they have reviewed it. So far only none of them have approved my comment. So it shows that at least you have the decency to accept comments and not afraid to engage. Best of luck.
Delighted to see a woman & young person standing in the Seanad 2011 elections. But as someone who is denied the right to vote on who sits in the Seanad, while an exclusive few members of the population, here in Ireland and abroad, get to decide, in some cases with more than one vote. I see the Seanad as an illegitimate part of democracy in Ireland. It needs to be scrapped and reconstituted so all the people get to decide who makes the laws that govern the people and not just the elite few.
We agree with you on that Karl. It needs to be scrapped in it's current form and rearranged, parituclarly the manner in which people are elected to it. But ironically, to do that, such legislation has to actually pass through the Seanad!
