Forget the Apache, this helicopter was designed to fulfil the same mission as the Cobra but be able to take more punishment, which it can, yet also be able to take on the roles of the apache. When the cobra was introduced it was the first of its kind, a dedicated ground attack helicopter, the Havoc is Russia's answer to it. The Apache came later ie after the Mi 28 had been designed

Have to go with the Apache, it's combat record speaks for itself. In the first Gulf War alone it destroyed 837 tracked vehicles, 501 wheeled vehicles, 66 bunkers and radar sites, 12 helicopters (on the ground), 10 fighter aircraft (on the ground), 120 artillery sites, and 42 SAM and AAA gun sites. Not a lot of other helicopters could of performed in such a way.

Forget the Apache, this helicopter was designed to fulfil the same mission as the Cobra but be able to take more punishment, which it can, yet also be able to take on the roles of the apache. When the cobra was introduced it was the first of its kind, a dedicated ground attack helicopter, the Havoc is Russia's answer to it. The Apache came later ie after the Mi 28 had been designed

The apache would be less maneuverable and slower, as it's purpose is almost entirely from the Cold War era..and that is stopping hordes of Russian armor from crossing eastern europe, therefore the electronics are more advanced on the Apache, as it was meant to pop out from behind a tree line, can locate a dozen targets at once, and prioritze which ones to hit first....
the MI-28 is completely different as the Russians didn't have to deal with defensive purposes (NATO's policy) but more on attk

Size:It is bigger,and that's the bad thing.Its size makes it an easy target.Luckily,Mil was smart enough to make it survive hits from almost any caliber normally encountered in the battlefield.
Range:The Apache has a better range,sorry.

wrong the mi-28 gun is 30mm and even bigger then the apchees cannon. (mi-28: 30 × 165mm, apchee: 30 × 113mm)
also the mi28 is 40km/h faster then the apachee. mi28 operational range is 40km larger. also the mi28 aa rockets are MUCH more capable featuring a 360 detection range.

@natsplit Wtf? The Apache's top speed is 227 m/h, Mi28's is 199 m/h. And Apache has a 295mi range and Mi28 has a 270mi range .And AA rockets mean nothing, they are ANTI AMOR helicopters, they take out tanks and other vehicles. If we're taking out helos, we'll use an A10, not an Apache.

@Prometheus19853 The AK--47 use the 7.62x39mm. The M14 use the 7.62x51mm. Also, many ignore the fact that the M-16 and M-4 had been modified to fire .50 cal. Giving it much more firepower over the AK-47. Yet, the M-16/4 still have great accuracy.
@19Jassa85 Russian technology was based off the Germany as well. Post-Cold War strandard US combat rifle is the M-14. The Soviet is the AK-47. The AK-47 resemble the German STG-44. While, the M14 was built off both the US M1 Garand and M1 Carbine.

Have to go with the Apache, it's combat record speaks for itself. In the first Gulf War alone it destroyed 837 tracked vehicles, 501 wheeled vehicles, 66 bunkers and radar sites, 12 helicopters (on the ground), 10 fighter aircraft (on the ground), 120 artillery sites, and 42 SAM and AAA gun sites. Not a lot of other helicopters could of performed in such a way.

@Prometheus19853 50 cal can down the havoc. cockpit dude. propeller. intake. besides apache is equipped to handle 50 cal . the havok isnt. get your facts straight before you open your mouth. and knife fighting is primative. why fight with knifes (i know its not literal) when you can blast them from afar with no threat to your self. seems like a pretty easy choice to me but hey we're from different places so we think differently. your entitled to your beliefs im entitled to my facts. just kidding

it have a good chance for the Apache.... other than that... its just another target waiting to be" locked on" in the
crosshair of the Apache and shot down....

@Prometheus19853 Well, in this case it being second hand is rather true since they made it to be better than the Apache, didn't really work out. And comparing a Hind to an Apache is ridiculous, the Apache is far better, decades newer, and designed as an Attack Heli while the Hind was originally a transport modified to a gunship.
