that is not a distorter but a terminator.
this is not to work against you but with you.
the purpose of that is to terminate that port so no outside RF can enter your system and breakdown your phone, internet or if signal is high enough your tv experience.
contact your cable company for a 2 way splitter if you are not using that port.
