Hats off to Arturo for not falling into the trap so many do and playing it too fast - as if somehow more music can be squeezed from this piece by sheer velocity.
you know im 14 years old and i barely started this song three weeks ago, its a very delicate song and requires lots of practice and concentration; the interpretation and the speed in which the melody was played makes me think: '' How can composers play that fast and not get a single mistake?'' really nice and smooth Thumbs up for whoever plays this song and thank you Chopin for giving your knowledge to the world. Any people who say this is dumb or gay has no musical soul. thanks and see you soon
Rubinstein plays this waltz very well, in my opinion. I was not too fond of other people's versions of this song. Some too fast, some too slow, some with strange pacing and rhythm. This is just right.
I've heard various versions of this over the past 50 years but I'm not sure I'd heard Rubinstein play it before. When I heard this recording a little while ago, I decided I just HAD to learn it. (I guess for some reason I hadn't realized just how much feeling could be put into it.) It'll take a while to get it smoothed out, but I just played it through for the first time. Even in practice, it's a great piece.
Merci.
Although Rubinstein and Chopin are gone their music lives on ringing in the modern concert halls, filling the practice rooms of our schools, and even as these romantic composers intended in our homes. Being taught to our children, to be taught to our children's children. You want to change this cancer that is growing in our art? Then learn this music, for God's sake teach it. Pass it on so this beautiful piece of art continues to live on. In our generation. In the future generations.
Rubinstein truly loved this waltz. How wonderful it is to make music. As musicians we give the world a gift. Just to express our own inhibitions through beautifully composed pieces like this one. It is a honor to be in the presence of such intimacy and talent. Hear this music in a live setting people!
Love the ending with the Chopin "Hi!" And the music ain't too bad, either! It is beautiful and makes me weep b/c peeps are capable of such beautiful creations.
wow to the people who said this piece is "garbage" and dared to compare chopin with lil wayne: you just totally embarrased yourselves by publicizing your ignorance and low standard in music to the youtube world. I am embarrassed for you of your stupidity. I am not hating on hip hop: it is one of my favorite genre of music. However, I believe that this type of "boring" music is the most sophisticated. Disrespecting classical shows how much class you have.
@luvinariza i'd say some of Eminem's lyrics is more sophisticated, but i agree with everything u just said. If a wayne fan came on here it was obviously to trash it. i must say to that person they're at a lost.
rubinstein the best ,,,e' un suono allucinabte bello bello ...nn ci saranno mai piu ...cosi come in italia nn avremo mai piu attori come toto',fabrizi ,e defilippi
@ReginaFarfalla By technical terms, yes if you want to think of it that way. But by the terms of people who play music and like listening to music it's a song. I realize that a song is "a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung" but if you heard a bird chirping a tune or a melody and a friend said "Oh, that bird is singing" or "what a lovely bird song" (which they probably wouldn't) you wouldn't correct them and say "No it's a piece" would you? (I'mnottryingtofight!)
Wonderful recording! Thank you for sharing this! And I love how the pictures go with the music! Very nice , shows people do care and take time on what they post to make it as elegant as possible! Amazing!
Really "TRBWS"? How can you say that? It makes you sound SO intelligent, among those listening to classical, you suggest "real music" like lil wayne? Find a rap video to leave your comments on. This music is written and performed by geniuses.
@doctordrums8 Eh, more or less. I only find a few classical songs superb. I just stumbled on this one after listening to AC/DC all day haha. Relaxing. Now back to Bon Scott and my game of solitaire.
hey there mr. dunnededunnedunne, i loved your video so much! it is so delicate, unique and simply hilarious. just like the waltz is to my ears. you brought a smile to my face. thanks.

@luvinariza
it takes years of skills to master a piece like this. some people will never understand how sophisticated classical music really is.
Nowadays people can make a beat in a day. But before it took skills and great virtuosic men like Chopin to make such great music.
Only time will tell who's greater. So far classical music is far far ahead.
