This kinda shows the limit of single cam SR5.. I mean SR5 is great and some plp can't afford GT-S but I kinda think it's a waste of factory making these instead of using the factory to make classic GT-S. Just an opinion.. Still, nice car
@Lkjbl - No. I bought it pre-made. In addition, I don't own the car anymore, otherwise I'd measure and send you some details. Here's a picture of it off the car, though.
Gracias!!
@quinngetsitdaily - Two things - first, there's minimal difference between the bottom end of a 4AGE and 4AC. The 4AGE revs to 7000+ stock. Second, if it did break, I was going to replace the bottom end with either a 7AFE bottom end to make a 7AC, or replace the bottom end with one of many nearly free 4ACs available from the local Toyota enthusiast community.
@TheHald - Thanks! After the work, I had it dyno tuned at a local shop. They were able to use a wideband O2 sensor to get the mixture dead on. It was a lot of fun after that. I sold this car in January (2011), so I don't have it anymore. The stock 4AC intake doesn't flow well enough to bother with more or a bigger carb. You'd have to make a custom manifold, or get side drafts to make it worth while. Thanks for the interest!
Um this car and setup aint ment for the drag strip further more it sounds fuckin awesome and bet it perform just as well cant wait to do this to my 4ac so i can watch the guys mouths drop when i take 1st place at a drift comp lol i live in cali so ill have to have a stock(smog)motor and fun(drift)motor lol.
@RICEFREAK - The car had a single cam 4AC engine, with a Schneider Racing 300F cam, with approximately .416" lift, and 300 degrees of duration. It had a MSD 6AL ignition, double valve springs, Weber 38DGES carburetor, and a custom exhaust mentioned above. The header was custom made by someone else, but and I bought it used.
@RICEFREAK - It was a custom made unequal length header, with about a 45° bend from the flange to about three feet of 2.5" resonator pipe, a two foot glasspack "muffler" and about two more feet of resonator pipe. It ended with a 45° bend sideways to a dual-outlet tip at the base of the RR fender. To clarify, this setup WILL NOT pass emissions testing, and was WELL above the legal noise limit in Oregon... so use this information at your own risk.
@JustinParcher woooOoow! Hmmmm I may do this after taking my car for a smog check. Did you change the carbs as well? My sr5 is totally stock/virgin. I'm planning to install new carbs in it and paint it panda. I already bought celica rims for it. Just needs tires. I'm a young poor guy haha. Thanks for the info man! It sounds like I need decent tools to make custom stuff like the header.

@ MrLione123 - I loved this car. Definitely had a CD with Initial D soundtrack music on it for this reason.

NICE MAN ! The header made a WORLD of difference ! Compared to your last vid I can see the rpm's climbing at a much faster rate. :)

I'd be worried about taking my 4ac to that high of rev's without doing bottom end work. How did you know it'd hold up?

It runs damn amazing! Great work!

@TheHald
By the way, maybe you should to put dual carbs there? I saw thet set-up somehwere, 2 cabs same as stock 4AC carb.
