But having grown GMO (aka hybrids) and non GMO (aka heirlooms), I can tell you without doubt that GMOs are easier to grow, taste better, and produce earlier.

The USDA can do nothing while Monsanto and other corporate agri-thugs use their lawyers to get regulations overturned by the courts. In addition, they have the ability to buy off regulators with campaign contributions and lobbying. The hands of the USDA are tied.

We don't want this poison in our systems. I used to work in a refining plant where We received Monsanto's sludge. The health effects being exposed to this stuff was outrageous. I wish you could read the MSDS sheets on this stuff. The health effects are awful ! It looked like tar. Among the health effects Were organ failure such as kidney, liver, pancreas, Blindness, sterility, & brain tumors. (upon exposure) So if the sludge from making Round up does all of that consider what the round up does.

You have lawful remedy to farm without interference from the legal system if you know your rights and how to assert them. You are aware of the kangaroo courts so now you just need to learn your lawful remedy when you get called into them.

Monsanto plans to own all seeds the next frontier will be to own the farm entirely. Farms are being consolidated at a rapid rate, when these large farms change hands they generally go to even larger operations/corporations, if this trend continues its only a matter of time before there is just a handful of farms on the entire continent.

The average garden variety consumer is tricked by the poison peddler's. Take the recomendation for control of the colorado potato beetle. You first have to spray one spectracide and then another in rotaion to beat the pest's resistance to it. They have littles like every two weeks so that's your rotation schedule. Wheat has already been genetically modified away from it's "natural" counterparts. As has Maize, Bananas, Rice and nearly every other farmed product including animals such as cows and pigs.
Whilst I understand the concern is it that we as a species are pushing ahead too quickly with GM and that we should take it more slowly, or that your beliefs are no GM under any circumstances?

i have no problem with planing two apple trees next to each other and having them naturally make new types of apples. or choosing the largest corn cob and saving those seeds for next year.
GM is quite different to cross pollination, cross breeding and selective seed collecting. . have you not read anything or seen documentaries on how they do this stuff, and what effects GM plants have to lab animals, not to mention humans?
I've not been personally involved in any GM related activities but I have casually read reports from the scientific community on both 'sides' of the GM issue.
I am aware of the recent mammal study of GMO corn which has some rather alarming results and I'm looking forward to more studies.
What I'm interested in are people's views on pesticide use, the balance of yield versus plant defence and artificial selection versus GMO.
personally, i am opposed to the use of chemical herbicides and pesticides. these are just another carcinogen pumped into our food system. in an organic perma-culture setting there is no need for pesticides - non-harmful insects eat the pest insects.
the problem with this, is that many farmers farms are too big, or they are too lazy to plant a diverse crop range within their farms.
I think your conclusion was jumped to. Consider that it is far too risky and not economically viable to farm "organically" for the mass market.
As for "chemical" and "pesticides", I presume you are referring to a specific chemical (since even water and air are chemicals)?
I grew tomatoes in my garden last summer and used an organic fatty acid spray to kill the greenfly. Unfortunately it was a fight that even with ladybirds I couldn't win. If I was poor or a farmer I'd be screwed.

there are many people who grow up in the country next to large farms which are spray regularly. i know some of them... they are always sick, suffer from asthma and other illness's even tho they no longer live in these areas. do you think pesticides are harmless to humans?

It is important to define our terms. 'Chemical' is a rather loaded term that doesn't serve any useful purpose, and neither does 'Pesticides' given that almost all plants manufacture their own pesticides which target some predatory species or other.
I agree that living next to farms that are regularly sprayed could very well cause health problems. Personally I live near an airport so I can empathise only too well.

A concern that I have which might be unsubstantiated at this stage is the NK 603 (earlier mentioned 'roundup') leeching into natural water courses and killing aquatic life. This would be bad.

But having grown GMO (aka hybrids) and non GMO (aka heirlooms), I can tell you without doubt that GMOs are easier to grow, taste better, and produce earlier.

The USDA can do nothing while Monsanto and other corporate agri-thugs use their lawyers to get regulations overturned by the courts. In addition, they have the ability to buy off regulators with campaign contributions and lobbying. The hands of the USDA are tied.
What we need is a Constitutional Amendment to abolish "Corporate Personhood" and ban corporations from politics. Then the government can do its job and protect the PEOPLE rather than the profits of companies like Monsanto

We don't want this poison in our systems. I used to work in a refining plant where We received Monsanto's sludge. The health effects being exposed to this stuff was outrageous. I wish you could read the MSDS sheets on this stuff. The health effects are awful ! It looked like tar. Among the health effects Were organ failure such as kidney, liver, pancreas, Blindness, sterility, & brain tumors. (upon exposure) So if the sludge from making Round up does all of that consider what the round up does.

Everything on earth and probably off earth is contract. You write the contract (the law) live. If someone makes a claim, then make them stand on their claim. If you start arguing their claims, then you give their claim merit and abandon your position. Keep putting the burden of proof on them. In the 1980s, chemical salesmen told us roundup became "neutralized" the moment the product contacts the soil. Roundup is not biodegradable. If corporations like monsanto would be held responsible for the mess they leave behind, they would go out of business.

Not all GMO's are evil, GMO's supply cheap food to most of the world. If we burned all of the GMO seeds tonight, it would cause the starvation of MILLIONS! Organic food is a high maintenance, low yielding crop. The organic market doesnt have the seed stock to feed the world. WE CAN'T FEED THE WORLD ON ORGANIC ALONE!!!! WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION!!!

Monsanto plans to own all seeds the next frontier will be to own the farm entirely. Farms are being consolidated at a rapid rate, when these large farms change hands they generally go to even larger operations/corporations, if this trend continues its only a matter of time before there is just a handful of farms on the entire continent.

The average garden variety consumer is tricked by the poison peddler's. Take the recomendation for control of the colorado potato beetle. You first have to spray one spectracide and then another in rotaion to beat the pest's resistance to it. They have littles like every two weeks so that's your rotation schedule. If your organic you intro duce Nematodes and lady bug's to pig out and they reproduce every year. Do we really need roundup on the consumer level? It's killing was is good.........

Wheat has already been genetically modified away from it's "natural" counterparts. As has Maize, Bananas, Rice and nearly every other farmed product including animals such as cows and pigs.
Whilst I understand the concern is it that we as a species are pushing ahead too quickly with GM and that we should take it more slowly, or that your beliefs are no GM under any circumstances?

i have no problem with planing two apple trees next to each other and having them naturally make new types of apples. or choosing the largest corn cob and saving those seeds for next year.
GM is quite different to cross pollination, cross breeding and selective seed collecting. . have you not read anything or seen documentaries on how they do this stuff, and what effects GM plants have to lab animals, not to mention humans?

I've not been personally involved in any GM related activities but I have casually read reports from the scientific community on both 'sides' of the GM issue.
I am aware of the recent mammal study of GMO corn which has some rather alarming results and I'm looking forward to more studies.
What I'm interested in are people's views on pesticide use, the balance of yield versus plant defence and artificial selection versus GMO.

personally, i am opposed to the use of chemical herbicides and pesticides. these are just another carcinogen pumped into our food system. in an organic perma-culture setting there is no need for pesticides - non-harmful insects eat the pest insects.
the problem with this, is that many farmers farms are too big, or they are too lazy to plant a diverse crop range within their farms.

I think your conclusion was jumped to. Consider that it is far too risky and not economically viable to farm "organically" for the mass market.
As for "chemical" and "pesticides", I presume you are referring to a specific chemical (since even water and air are chemicals)?
I grew tomatoes in my garden last summer and used an organic fatty acid spray to kill the greenfly. Unfortunately it was a fight that even with ladybirds I couldn't win. If I was poor or a farmer I'd be screwed.

there are many people who grow up in the country next to large farms which are spray regularly. i know some of them... they are always sick, suffer from asthma and other illness's even tho they no longer live in these areas. do you think pesticides are harmless to humans?

It is important to define our terms. 'Chemical' is a rather loaded term that doesn't serve any useful purpose, and neither does 'Pesticides' given that almost all plants manufacture their own pesticides which target some predatory species or other.
I agree that living next to farms that are regularly sprayed could very well cause health problems. Personally I live near an airport so I can empathise only too well.

I think I know where you're coming from and I think we agree. I just want to be careful; there are a lot of people out there on YouTube that would ban Dihydrogen Monoxide since it's used in industrial pesticides, nuclear powerplant cooling and an overdose can kill you :)
Trying to watch some of the anti-GMO videos on YouTube requires crawling through lots of pseudo-science and the message - the facts - can get easily washed out.

I am not referring to any study commissioned by or for Mosanto, but of course these are Mosanto products under test.
I haven't actually heard about GM pine trees nor effluent/byproduct leeching from them. If you have a link I would be grateful but I will look myself later.
A concern that I have which might be unsubstantiated at this stage is the NK 603 (earlier mentioned 'roundup') leeching into natural water courses and killing aquatic life. This would be bad.

...clearly monsanto should stay away from the 3rd world, and the first world. do you not know about the terminator seeds that monsanto secretly dropped by plane into india when they refused their bullshit crops? what happens is they terminator plant cross pollinates with the normal plant, leaving any new seeds formed by the plant 'dead'. the only way to get seed is to buy more/ how does that feed poor starving people? it only makes them poorer.
