Ive posted on this vid b4, Im doing it again. Bought this disc brandy new the day it popped in the 90's. I've seen them live. These guys were truly something to behold.
this is a nice rendition, but it doesnt come close to the electric. they were touring around here a couple years back and had been doing these accoustic sets, and it was rumored that the show at my local casino would be unplugged as well, but thank god they showed up with the heavy equipment and rocked it the fuck out. they opened with this song, and you could see half way through it, they kind of looked at each other on stage like, "holy shit, we got a crowd here".
@masterdeathify You are right. I put those peppers at #1 modern band. Radiohead is dynamical! The catch 22 is that there are several in the shadows, who are on "hiatus" to us, but only building talent and getting more in tune(this is easier to do out of the spotlight and only in light of what is real..to them). Weezer is one I really respect, as is Third Eye Blind. Soundgarden was great, as was STP and Pearl Jam. Anyone of them can get back together and turn music upsidedown again. Whos next?
@WingsOfTheMind I'm sorry, I missed alot of modern bands... but I had to come back and mention one I forgot that had huuuuge impact. The Smashing Pumpkins!!!! Oh, while I'm here... collective soul, silverchair, rage against the machine, and creed are very, very honorable mentions. :)
@masterdeathify HaHa. They were good like it or not. Oh and um Nickleback didn't kill shyt. Mabe Creed because they were good. But not not nickelinmypocketplease.
@masterdeathify Very Nice. Foo Fighters are not done either... I have a feeling. JanesAdd is one I will keep an eye on. Thanks, that date is in mind. Hope I can see them in Houston... if they come. I do like them.
@WingsOfTheMind My humble opinion, but anything acoustic & live is far better. It proves to me that they are musicians who created something using talents, not just machines in some studio. This whole video to me is like heaven even though its a simple recording of a song! :)
@aFaceInside There is no bass. There are no drums. The original feeling of coming out and like it or not its here... was gone here. They catered to knowing it was successful. That is why I say that. You can hardly ever do an original justice. In my "humble opinion" this is like half of the song. They excel at this acoustic though, don't get me wrong... but they excel at songwriting period. The original throws more vibes.
@WingsOfTheMind yes,the original "throws more vibes" (i like your humble opinion) but as i hate seeing bands perform live,-as they so often tend to disapoint- these guys played their song. it sounded like their song. it waaaaaas good. no doubt. like mamma said "if ya cant say nothin nice......" love
@ash2ash81 I like this video. The Toadies always have my love for what they did... no matter what they do. I give, damnitt!! This is great!!! You all happy? I still prefer the original to this. Call it what it is... opinion. We all have that right. Btw... your momma is a smart woman. :)
Respond to this video... @aFaceInside However.... I Burn would be badass on acoustic because it is about being purified. Acoustic is about simplicity which equals purification.
What a raw song! Just love it! Love the key the guitar is played in... Fabulous lyrics, I guess this is where the Toadies come from? The Water? It's very simple & has a nice Rock-n-Roll-feel to it.... Nice performance!!!
I come from the water really early in the lakes around the texas areas nothing like IT IS TOTALLY GOD COUNTRY!!! AND A PARTY PLACE SINCE THE LATE 60'S LIKE 69!!! love this band!!!
omgomg this version rules- but i heart the album vs also - hey they are playing TONIGHT at diamond ballroom in Oklahoma city but tickets are sold out - i'm gonna cry!!!
Im a musician, and ive always loved the fact that music is so very subject to a wide array of interpritation. One of the most subjective forms of art.
saw the toadies, civ, and brutal juice all in one show in winston salem nc 1994. best show I have ever seen
