@RoniisH Lol, far from it... If you think I look like a chav then I dread to think what you would call a REAL chav... Just because I wear a hoody and wear trackies doesn't mean I'm a chav you know.
It is blue, but remember diesels often spurt a bit of blue/black smoke out on a cold start. As long as there is none after 5 seconds running, its perfectly fine.
Sorry I never answered your question - It looks blue after starting, its more a mix of white/black against the odd colour background. I've done a few thousand miles since this video was taken with no ill effects.
Buy a set of Bosch Duratechs (best you can buy for a Peugeot, about £45 tops, never scrimp on cheap glow plugs) and make sure you fit them properly. Don't over-tighten the nut that connects the cable on or you'll twist the wire inside breaking it off.
It wasn't the injectors, it was the glow plugs. They just needed replacing and et viola, works like a charm now. The injectors are best done by a garage. They're very delicate and cost about £50 ($100) each to replace if you damage them.
ohh thanks, man im so afraid to take off the fuel rail though, its on an old 86 firebird 2.8 mpfi. but the engine ran like a bag of shit so garage you say? i know just a spec of dirt is enough to contaminate it.
You can remove them yourself if you can't get it to a garage but be very very careful with them and never touch the point of the injector. Wrap each one individually in bubble wrap (still not touching the point) and take it to the garage like that. They should only cost you about £25 ($50) to get checked, and not much more to be reconditioned if they are damaged. Injectors are not something that often just "go", they get bad over time and you notice smoking, roughness, etc.
I have a 106 1.5 diesel with a very hard driven 173,000 miles on it now. When i say hard drive, for the last 60,000 miles it's been driving pretty much flat out everwhere. Burnouts, red lining it through the gears. Glow plugs are almost 2 years old now and it still starts with 1 heat off the glow plugs after a second or 2.
It does cough a bit for a few seconds with bit of grey smoke but can't complain. Still hits 90mbh flat out and still does 60mpg.
No its not, lol. Its fine, the glow plugs were defective and the injectors needed a clean. It starts first time every time now with no issues at all. I don't know what you have to base your theory on when you don't know anything about the cars history or whats been done to it. There is nothing wrong with the gasket, its fine. I also posted the same on your other comment.
Those first few seconds are when most engine wear occurs. The pistons are not even perfectly round until they are hot.

So its just plugs, yeah?
Was it starting fine after you put glow plugs init?
Whats a Chav?
KeVinRuDDz 10 months ago
@KeVinRuDDz Yep that's all it was in the end.
A chav is someone who goes around in tracksuit bottoms, acting hard, beating up kids etc. Google can probably give a better description tho!

I'll see what I can do. I need to do some basic checks (oil, water, etc) soon anyway. No guarantees tho.
