is it me or chinese music has really got to get out of that "cute" phase of theirs and try new genres of music !! - it's starting to get redundant especially when most well known bands are over killing the genre. It's fine to have cute music but seriously try something else for once ! >.<
It's starting to. More groups and singers are leaning more towards the "cool" image and away from the "cute" image. HIT-5 is a notable group that does so. So is Top Combine (although they still do have cute songs on their albums). It's just a matter of influence over time. China was influenced in the 70s by American and influenced Korean music, which in turn developed into K-Pop. Now that K-Pop is more popular, it'll likely influence Chinese music (and hopefully American music.)
