  • Corporal Jason Dunham is my hero. In four years when I join the Marine Corps, him, Lance Corporal Chance Phelps, and Major Megan McClung are the reasons why I'm joining.

  • iam not american.bush may be an idiot or whatever you want to call him.BUT i do belive without doubt he loves america and the people and he is a very proud countryman....i dont like his politics but look into his eyes and you can see he loves his country.....r.i.p all the fallen no matter what side ..god bless america..

  • Semper Fidelis

    We Salute you

    Cpl. Dunham

  • Bush is such a dumb fuckin asshole. They shouldve had someone else present the medal. Semper Fidelis Cpl. Dunham.

    Pvt. O'Brien

  • Semper Fidelis, my brother.

  • he flew up to heaven

  • for my fellow brother who is letting now guarding heavens gate i love you and when my time comes i will stand with you

  • oh my god he said MEDAL OF HONOUR and CALL OF DUTY... come on wheres BATTLEFIELD and HOMEFRONT???

  • @b11k22 you fag......that was completely unacceptable. cut the video games shit out.

  • @b11k22 STFU DOUCHE BAG

  • @sholland7mar hhaaa take a joke!

  • God bless his soul ........... well deserved!

  • Cpl Dunham is a legend and his name will live forever in our beloved Corps

  • Semper Fi Jason, from SGT. Vormwald USMC 1980-1990

  • may this Marine go up to heaven and regroup with his fellow fallen brothers... he will be deeply missed in the Corps. RIP Cpl Jason Dunham. Oorah and Semper Fidelis

  • God bless this Marine and know that he is at his post! "If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven's scene, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines". Semper Fidelis!

  • Abraham Lincoln handed out lots of Medals because he was in a brutal war he was about to lose and would do anything that could help improve moral, even in the least. Even Caesar would use Medals as a way of rewarding his troops and showing that he was grateful for their sacrifice. In reality, it was a manipulative method of control similar to giving kids gold stars for coloring in the lines. The modern Medal of Honor means more though, so I agree with you.

  • May god continue to watch over all my fellow soldiers and keep them safe

  • Bush's delivery of this citation was really immature. He asked "Former marine? Or marine?" Then mistaking the Navy for the Marine Corps, he said "I didn't mean to insult you.", with a shitty smerk on his face. As commander in Chief, he should not have said anything disparaging about any branch of the military. Lincoln would never have dreamed of doing so. Mr. Bush seems to do it so effortlessly. Bush would put a Medal of Honor on his dog if Carl Rove told him to.

  • @proconsulaugustus are you sure? President Lincoln put metals on the chests of 850 people that did little or nothing to earn it.

  • @busterdog321 Also, if you could travel back in time and watch Abraham Lincoln or Julius Caesar at the awards ceremony, it would be a much more dignified affair, with the whole Battalion/Legion in formal attire, standing at attention, they would fire cannon in salute, the president would make a fine, grim speech, nobody would crack a smile but their hearts would be beating out of their chests with irrational pride. Followed occasionally by a formal party with a 5 course meal, wine and red roses.

  • @proconsulaugustus idk. times change. shits diffrent. ive watched obama do the same stuff on his Medal of Honor ceremonies. i liked bush. obamas ok. (cant talk to much shit when you work for the president) but hell if we went back in time maybe lincon stumbled on the gettysburg address. who knows, once bush started reading threw what the Cpl did...he didnt joke around. so its good to go.

  • @busterdog321 So all I'm saying is Bush is a douche by comparison and acts like a little kid who just sniffed a whippit. Chuckling and slouching and forgetting his lines. Thinking he is charming because people are laughing. I wish he would throw himself on a grenade and earn himself a medal. I'd be happy to pin it to his fragmentation-filled body. Just kidding. GWB is okay. Very incompetent president, but mostly a happy, clumsy sort of fool on the inside.

  • @proconsulaugustus you are a jerk. have a great life.

  • a verse for his family

He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart Psalm 91:3

  • Dunham i salute you for what you did and you truly did sometihng most men would never consider to do you have put yourself before others and gave your own life for you fellow Marines that truly gives you the honor that can only be bestowed by this Medal

    Semper Fi

  • YUT!!!!!!!!!! 3/7 kilo represent!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This wasn't a polished Hollywood presentation - like we saw last night. This was humble and honest... as it should have been. Whatever you think or thought of President Bush, he delivered this the way it should have been delivered. Simply and honestly - and without pontification or rhetoric.

Life is SUPPOSED to be simple - not orchestrated and rehearsed. Words are supposed to be honest and stumbling - not polished and practiced. Speeches come from the heart - not the teleprompter.

  • Semper Fi, Always Faithful my fellow Marine!

  • Once a Marine, Always a Marine, Semper Fi

  • Who put his Finger down for this video?! It's a shame! Best whishes and RIP from your friends in Germany!

  • How could anyone possibly 'Dislike' this? CPL Dunham will be remembered by Marines for generations. It's men like him who exemplify what it means to put others before yourself. Semper Fi

  • who ever voted for bush is a dumb fuck! thanks for fucking up our country

  • @wytboi310 how did Bush fuck up this country if anyone has fucking Obama has.

  • god bush is a non english speaking fuck! its ashame that such an amazing man and marine had his cerimony held by bush.... anywase..... rahh!!! tuffellhunden

  • @demonof90 Fuck you. Try Socialist Hussein's "uhh..ahh...ehhh...rebuild 'murica..ehh...founding father Saul Alinsky...eh...ahhh...." Fuck you and Obama

  • god bush is a non english speaking fuck!

  • bush is an idiot..."i dont know if you say former marine or marine" its called doing BUsh....

  • its sad that many people deserve this honor, but never get it, due to a lower rank, many fine soldiers and marines have lost their lives or risked their lives to save others or just to better the situation they are in. cpl dunham is a hero no doubt, and to not hesitate and jump on a grenade is a true testament to the man he probably was. more dedicated people just like this need to be honored for their timeless devotion to god and country. support the troops regardless of ur opinions on the war

  • how can this guy play the videogame if he's dead though?

  • this is what makes me want me to be a marine Semper Fi !

  • God bless him

  • medal of honor is based on REAL SHIIT! call of duty is maaa fake

  • whats everyones most popular gun? i adore a rpg myself. it's easy to be able to rip up nearly everybody with it! my roommate calls me a newbie for using the gun but who cares. i'm kind of unique i guess! however , at the least i didnt have to pay for the game. i down loaded it absolutely free on mw2forfreeYinfo (replace Y with . ) yesterday

  • Semper Fidelis Corporal Dunham!!!

  • Please watch over us all veterans Jason

  • Thank you Cpl. I have 2 more months here left as a civi before I leave for bootcamp and hopefully after those 13 weeks will be able to call you a brother Sir. You have not only saved the lives of those marines under you, but continued the bloodline of the Marine Corps, and have strengthened the resolves of young men and women such as myself to never quit and to say movitated and dedicated and never quit and finish the hardest bootcamp america's armed services has to offer. Semper Fidelis

  • @jsilence418

you consider two or three posts a lot?

two of which i used to turn it around on the previous comment that i replied to. one them being you.

  • @jsilence418

i would gladly given the opportunity. of course, that sailor or marine would probably know that marine corps is a department of the navy.

  • @Townidiot951

the marine corps is a department of the navy, as kcmt01 said.

    who's retarded now?

  • @StillersFan33 Well considering the USMC isn't a department of the Navy...*facepalm* The Marine Corps and the Navy are both directly under the "Department of the Navy" And are completely equal and their own branches. Most will just nod and agree if you call the Marine Corps a division of the navy for arguments sake, but they are seperate. There have been several legal attempts to rename this "Department of the Navy and Marine Corps" so people stop maiking this mistake but that hasnt yet happened

  • To all you ignorant nitwits: The Marines are a department of the Navy. That would be the Men's Department.

  • SALUTE !. CPL Dunham was a great man, a great Marine. He will always remain a hero in my eyes. I enlisted in the US Marines on July 1 2010 and ship to MCRD Parris Island June 1 2011, and it is CPL Dunham i aim to be like.

  • @TheMarineKid17 DUDE NO FUCKIN WAY THAST MY EXACT SAME ENLISTMENT AND SHIP DATE!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT OLL PROBABLY BE IN MY PLATOON LOL

  • @GeneralFoX5 nice inbox me with ur facebook or myspace

God Bless you and your family.

  • "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived." -- George Patton

  • Respect

  • did he go through everyone in the audience in the begining

  • Rest In Peace. Semper Fi.

  • Semper Fi Marine...God rest ur soul and stand your post while angels sleep

  • United States Marine Corps. ..... holds more Congressional Medal of Honor recipients than any other branch.... that says something.

    Urrah!

  • The highest reward for a man's toil for becoming a Marine is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it.

    The change is forever.

    Oorah!

  • What an honor for a President to award such.....this is nothing Zero would ever even think of doing.

  • I was a Devil Doc serving with 2/4. I love all Marines everywhere! Thank you for your sacrifice Cpl Dunham! You served with Honor and Bravery! May you be with god and the angels.

  • you are never a former marine, you are ALWAYS a marine

  • @DeRocco21 oorah to that!

  • @DeRocco21 I've heard it said that the only ex-Marine is Lee Harvey Oswald.

  • @moogamax thats a negative there is no such thing as an ex marine lee harvey oswald is great example of the worlds deadliest weapon

  • RIP CpL Jason Dunham

  • Respect from a muslim in Singapore.

  • this man is the defining example of how to live ,it sickens me that , a hero such as this wil be forgotten by most, while actors and musitians , drug addicts and cowards are lionised, it is a sad reflection on western society, that values its fools more than its warriours,

  • Friend of mine from 3/7...lived the good life fought the good fight and died doing what most men wouldnt. Semper Fi Marine..

  • this man is a great americal solider and i am honored to have this man in the front lines and when my time comes i will do my best to defend my country and i will give my life to uphold the american way of life. GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • hes not a soldier

    he is a MARINE

    their is a diference

  • I was station at Al Taqqadum Iraq the part of base I stayed on was named after Cpl Dunham.

Everytime we went on patrol he gave me strength to carry out our mission. There is nothing I can say to him or his family but Thank you Cpl Dunham because of you I made it home!

    "Semper Fi"!

  • First let me thank you for this video and your viligance in keeping the ass---- from demeaning this special tribute. Second, an observation. I've viewed several Medal of Honor presentations here by both Pres. Obama and Pres. Bush and I'd encourage all Americans to do the same. It is striking to me that in all the Bush presentations he is either choking up, or fighting back tears unsucessfully. View the Obama presentations and it seems for him to be just an awkward moment.

  • @murphjy Bush should be choking up, he is the one who sent them off to war. Bush is not bad with small groups, but hopeless on a national scale. Anyways, these presentations are where Bush is most comfortable.

    RIP Marine

  • Thank you to all who serve from one grateful American.

The Distinguished Service Cross is the second highest honor given by the Army. The Medal of Honor is the highest military honor given by the United States Government. It was established during the Civil Ware and there have been only 3446 awarded so far.

  • hey does anyone know the difference between the medal of honor and the distinguished service cross? like what makes you qualified for the distinguished service cross but not the medal of honor?

    And wow. what a hero.

  • Nowadays, there is an unwritten rule that you have to sacrifice your life to receive the Medal of Honor. No one since Vietnam has lived to receive the MOH. That's disturbing.

  • there is nothing i can say. this is very sad.

  • A true president right there, and a great hero. Get your facts right.

  • oorah.. my brother and family..

    semper fi..

  • true hero.

"i feel how weak and fruitless of any words of mine, at an attempt to beguile you of a loss so overwhelming...solemn pride to lay so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom"

-abraham lincoln's letter to a mother who lost 5 sons in the civil war

  • semper fi(always faithfull) to my cadet dunham i will miss you brother

  • why wsent this on the the news?

  • Usually MoH are covered for 5 minutes at the most on the news.

I find this disturbing. Instead of talking about someone brave enough to give their own life for the cause of freedom, the news talks about celebrities, who have done absolutely nothing for their country.

  • @BXAssasinatorXS Well celebrities have boosted the economy of the country, however yes they cannot be compared to hero's such as cpl Dunham.

  • I Am A MCJROTC Cadet At NFHS in Fort Mill SC OOORAH Devil Dog RIP

  • Semper Fi, Devil Dog. Thank You.

  • Semper Fi Corporal!

    Rest in Peace brother.

  • God Bless You, Corporal Dunham! I know you're up on high, having a cold one with Chesty. Watch over your brothers and keep them safe. Men like you are what sets the Marines apart.

    SEMPER FIDELIS

  • why the hell are people talking politics on a video that is meant as a dedication to one of my fellow Marines. quick decisions by people who have never seen the battlefield kill other people. react with responsibility commander in chief.

  • RIP, from Scotland

  • bigbad182 i am the same age and belives semper fi

  • Im 14 years old and my goal is to complete Marine boot camp and join Marine Force Recon. Since I was very young I knew that I wanted to be a Marine. Seeing the heroism that

Cpl. Dunham showed only hardens my willingness to join and serve.

  • President Bush there is no such thing as a former marine we are all marrines forever.

  • @bigbad182

oorah man me too, since i was six.

  • @bigbad182 'Since I was very young I knew that I wanted to be a Marine'. dude, even if you don't want to make it a career, a few years worth of service will be imeasurably valuable. hit it up, man.

  • @bigbad182 a little advice to the young strong hearted boys who serve, remember you are not a soldier as a killer, you are a defender of free peoples and your country, and must shoot back only to protect the man next to you whatever it takes, that is all, semper fi.

  • @kodoman66 thank you for the advice

  • @bigbad182 your gay!

  • @wytboi310 my girlfriend would disagree

  • The Medal of Honor is awarded for sacrifice where no reward is promised. Many don't even live for the ceremony.

I pray that this medal is never bastardized like the so-called Nobel Peace Prize (no blame to our president - just those who picked him and Gore). If your "a normal kinda of fella", like me, you'll see to it.

  • the good die young.......

  • no words of mine can at any point fully describe how i and the rest of the Marines, feel about the honor and respect we have for Cpl. Dunham, as well as the dedication he has shown what a true marine is. I wish the best for his friends, family and fellow marines, SEMPER FI Dunham.... You earned it.

  • 3/7 No Shit !!

  • You know I almost lost faith in my beloved Corps. I look at all the young pups getting out of their respected mcrds and you greet them in the typical Marine manner and they look at you like you are stupid. Semper Fi is supposed to mean something yet a lot of the newer Marines have forgotten it. LCPL Dunham embodies that saying and because of him my faith in beloved Corps is renewed and stronger than ever. God Bless LCPL Dunham. God Bless!!

  • Semper Fi Cpl. Dunham, like the hymn says, he's guarding the streets of heaven

  • We shall forever hunt.
