  • Dude can people stop using lap tops when they mix and actually learn how to spin???? They didn't have laptops in the 70's & 80's......

  • Try downloading goldwave...

  • @ askadetra , if u read my description it says DETROIT INFLUENCED TUNES

  • Its an electrix filter. Its not controlled via midi. I just use it on the fly

  • Are you controlling the Electrix Factory throu MIDI? (If it's possible to do so). Maybe via laptop?

  • I would kill for that setup!

  • is that a friggin redline fx unit??????? Dude that is worth alot you know!

  • thanks for the mix

  • House, techno..... theese people dont know wheres difference. Culture die fast i last years.

    BRING BACK REAL TECHNO!!!!

Support Ben SIMS - Fuck Minimal!!!!

  • hey people, don't believe that all the four tracks are detroit techno. the first two are tech house that is a style of house. the last two tracks are really techno from detroit.

  • hey man these kid's now a day's don't know about this techno and house music,i started listening to this music back in the early 80's'' that tell you how old i am lol.''

  • I'd rather listen to electro house

  • Who are you people? First of all, techno sucks it like the worst music ever made. Its all computer and looses the human carisma Second, it's an abrieviation of technosexual or a person who prefirs to mack an electronic device rather than a girl.

techno: my computer vibrates just right for me.

person listening: dude your a fucking fagget

  • @deadmau5suckz stop trolling i saw your comments on more techno mixes which are great by the way.

  • @bustobasti1 hell yea man that sounds sweet cheers

  • Masterclass!!!

  • I think that minimal and techno are the most inspirational forms of electronic music because their subtle simplicity defines them from the other genres. You have so little to work with and yet it creates so much. Rhythmic, and hypnotizing.

  • Man how dodgy is that Efrat tune? It's like EXACTLY the same as Groove La Chord!

Dope set though man - great mixing and wicked tunes. Love that Skylark tune, used to play it heaps.

  • Hey DJ Keith could you send me a play list? I need this for my Ipod!! Damn

  • watch?v=mCrUQH9qBQk

  • excellent.

  • good selection shame your sync the tracks can tell straight away keep it real

  • @djkeith10 Btw, the tracks are not synced. If so, I would not need the turntables right? I actually prefer to spin real vinyl but every day it gets harder and harder to find the new stuff on vinyl.

  • @pdog305301 lots of detroit stuff running on the streets :) play em. nice mix

  • @pdog305301 I still use vinyl, I prefer the sound quality, feel, and there is skill attached to it! I would say its getting harder to get vinyl, but there are some tracks which are vinyl only still and I find that is what sets me aside from the CD DJs. I got told the other day by someone that it was good to see a proper DJ for once (he was fed up of seeing CD DJs).

  • @djkeith10 PAH! Shows what you know mate!

  • Trust me i know a lot mate

  • @djkeith10 I'm pretty confident you've never mixed vinyl

  • Отличный Fresh Sound микс. :)

  • I really like it.I feel very very verrrrrrrry good from japan.

  • I am 13 and i am better

  • @djvasoldi ur 13 and retarded. gg

  • @djvasoldi

Everyone is better using the auto beatmatch function :) but it's more about record choice and building a good party. I like manual beatmatching more than the new stuff btw.

  • @dusp2k definately. if your gonna label a video with detroit techno that shit better some be some real vinyl niggie and none of that time coded garbage!

  • first track sounds uncomfortably close to groove la chord :-)

  • Great mix, man!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what I want to say more.. that all Europe and an electronic music listeners in my meaning needs a serious support from your side in 'music'. A European television about the music like that one is absolutely undeveloped.. and not many will be change for now now..

  • ..so guys.. pdog and friends from a city - leave sometimes any tenminmix for walking somewhere in Europe real listeners who just calmly waiting for your sets.. this place is really cut off from original dj's sets..

  • In my younger age I was an owner of one -copied- cassette with Trezor's tracks & I knew that becomes from d-d-d-Detroit..ladies & gentlemen ..now I can listen to this short set & I think that is very fine, keeps up appearances.. I like it.. More what I can say - 3 hours for this dj and the set would be much much more interesting, that's what I think

  • Very nice....!!

  • Awesome dude, keep it up. One love.

  • shit, waste of time

  • great!!! just beautiful

  • the first track is copy of groove la chord. there are beefs between brikha and aber

  • watch?v=QHarxv_TyEQ

  • gheyyest shit evar !

  • stollen from an old track of aril brikha

  • watched again and liked it again. ;)

  • love it. now where's the mushrooms?

  • I was in a clothes store a few weeks ago and there was an awesome techno song on. i asked the person who worked there what song it was all she said was detroit...Any idea what song it might of been?

  • im feelin this mix for sure, its a different sound cause of those crazy filters - sounding dope man keep it up

  • Excellent mix! Hard to tell if its Detroit techno or Deep House but at the same time its minimalistic!

  • Super sweet tracks bro! thats is true detroit techno. if your intrested in a cd or track swap shoot me a msg, i spin the same style but with a lil bit of tech house and house :OP

  • f'in nice tracks. keep up the good work

  • NICE!!! Tracklist? :)

  • Btw dope mix I'm not hating I'm just trying to understand the differance

  • Man this sounds more like house. I don't see the techno in it. So I'm confused as a long time house listener and a long time techno hater. When I think techno I think like the heavy metal of electro. And this is more funky. I know Detroit is the home of techno and chi is the home of house but now I can't tell the differance and I can tell the differances between deep and dirty tribal electro progressive ect in house music.

  • @ayokae If it ain't Detroit Techno, its not techno, what you heard as "house" was probably actually techno. Anyways I feel lucky to grow up to this music and in Detroit. New school stuff which I'm into now, but still that old school flavor. I love it. Don't listen to everybody who says this is progressive, tribal, etc, its all hoopla(Bullshit) Go to DEMF this year and be overwhelmed with the sound made in the very city. Enjoy.

  • @ayokae This is as pure as techno gets. If you don't live in the Midwest or the East Coast, throw out your definitions because they're wrong. No offense, but yeah - this is PURE, straight techno. No pre-fixes, no sub-genre. Techno.

We're very protective of the 'T' word in Detroit because it's bastardized by people positioning Trance, Hardstyle, Progressive etc as 'Techno' when it's not.

  • @aidanday yeah i feel the same way about house. i say house and they think trance hardstlye shit. what i listen to has a feeling. this is one of those feelings. good music. much love to the d for helping put this electro shit on the map and pushing good music

  • @aidanday Man, you are so true !!!

    techno greetings from belgium!

  • great mix!!!

  • is the first track from aril brikha? at least it sounds like him

  • it sounds very similar to groove la chord. it's shlomi aber - efrat.

  • Loved it to death, keep up the good work

im working on getting dj gear as well, i only have software now :S :S :S I WANT HARD WARE!!!

    good work man

  • Thanks I appreciate that.

My recommendation is if you want hardware buy second hand. With the technology available nowadays, decks will soon be obsolete. A good midi controller will take you into the future if you want to go that route. Then again there's nothing like a pair of 1200's and a mixer.

  • Well where I live, it's all gonna be over eBay, gonna get the mp3 turntables next, i have no vinyl so i might as well use my iTunes collection lol

  • I've always wondered about how the mixer feels while they're mixing since it seems like there's lots of concentration going into what you're doing. Do you feel that you get as much enjoyment out of what you're making as the people you're making it for? Or maybe slightly less? Or do you ever get bored while you're mixing something, but continue anyway because you know its what people want to hear?

  • I don't necessarily get bored mixing, but I like create music by doing creative mixes. Anyone can get two similar sounding records and blend them together. That to me is boring. I like to always keep things interesting by using effects and using loops. I guess I may have a little bit of ADD. There are sometimes that I don't blend too because the tune deserves to shine. Mostly the Detroit techno tunes I mix like that. I play music to please myself and people equally. It's all about balance.

  • Excellent mix

  • very nice mix man how is that vestax pcv275 ? do you have a record out ?

  • clean but still warm..sonic ! btw do u have any fdbck 4 tractor pro ? keep it alive chief !..

  • I Love this mix.

Excellent song concept and stellar mixing.

  • thank you for the kind words.

  • Thanks for the track id btw (pdog).

I notice your using M-Audio Torq (by the vinyl) anyone got any feedback on it. Want to take it out to gigs that dont have cdj's. What it like for stability etc etc...

Im a turntablist turned techno so want to be able to scratch and juggle etc, is it good for that ? Got a nice quick laptop btw.

    Thanks.

  • Its pretty stable now that version 1.5 has been released.

Its good for any kind of mixing or scratching you want to do. I recommend you check out the torq dj forums for tips on how to get it to work as tight as possible.

  • Great MIX, my friend.... : )

  • Thanks, your mixes are quality as well.

  • Whats the first track ??

  • Shlomi Aber - Efrat

  • Nice mix!

  • hi from scotland lovin this detroit sound by the way

  • cheers mate.

  • Yea me too. Like Groove La Chord more...

  • can you tell me your djing equip? what are those rotary knobs

  • 2 x technics, vestax pcv-275, m-audio torq w/conectiv, electrix filter factory and pvdj grabber(dj sampler).

the rotary knobs are the electrix filter factory. I activate it by foot pedal.

  • nice selection mate good luck for the comp ,,have a look at mine if ya like

  • Raw, loved it!

  • I am agree with your comments, the first detroit techno tunes is still remaining in the air.

I am far away from detroit but it is one of my best influences.

    Great mix!!!

  • Thanks Aquiles. So when is your next mix?

  • I am testing the mixmiester fusion & maybe I will do it with this software. Really funny!

  • sweet mix

  • thanks for listening.

  • and what a nice soundquality!!! 5 stars...

can i ask u how you recorded that??

  • I recorded the audio separately with Audacity. I then synced the video and audio together with Quicktime Pro. I then exported it to divx w/mp3 audio.

  • Great job man. It brings me joy to see DJs like and play Detroit. Back in the early 90s everyone ran from it.

  • Detroit Techno is timeless. Now in the 21st century everyone gets inspiration from Detroit.

  • In the early 90's Detroit Techno had a distinctively URBAN sound...like sould-music produced with computers. Now, it's simple, minimized & diluted....But this is a bangin' mix! TOP FLIGHT!!!

  • Good job
