Listen everyone, this guy didn't animate that short. The company that handled the animation is Rune Entertainment and it wasn't even meant for a competition. Rune is also responsible for both of the animated music videos for Hail the Villain. Search them up on youtube.

It's a cool video and a cool animation, but it doesn't make sense really or even remotely fit the song. The animation even gets choppy when he tries to sync up the mouths with the lyrics. I get the impression this was a video edited together from previous animations he'd made, and that's not what this song deserves.

Your completely right, it's obvious, you can see how he tried to fit the singing in with the animation by just stopping the clip & repeating it. Look at 0:35 for example, why would the train stop suddenly then go again?!

I have no trouble with the look though, and he is a good animator, but use an animation to fit the music next time.

this is the first time i have seen this but i don't like it. the animation is really nice but I hate the concept and how the characters just sit there while they mouth the words to the song. it's boring, and stupid and lacks imagination. this dude is just showing off his drawing skills it looks like.

That's because it WAS made for something else and later was cut up, spliced and put to the music for the competition. Which isn't fair towards the rest of the competitors, but also, I think, violates the rules of the competition. There are so many great ORIGINAL animations made SPECIFICALLY for the competition over at aniBOOM, it's really a shame this clip made the semifinals.
