  • this is the first type I made my 9 month old. it was fairly close to this one and I loved it....thanks for your talent

  • Just finished my second crochet project...THANK YOU! I only had to start over about 11 times before it all came together :) I was having trouble knowing where the ch 1 hole was... But then I realized....it is between the V....piece of cake after that! Love your videos...

  • Thank Teresa...you have a great talent

  • thanks Teresa you are fabulous!

  • Just beautiful, but what size or age is this hat for?

I want to crochet one for my 16 months baby, would please help me ?

I am so thankful, bless to You.

    Zizi

  • You talk lower and lower!

  • aww this hat cam out ADORABLE!! i love it so much that im making another one thats yellow! i made one from a color i believe is called Petal Pink from red heart. And the best part is how fast you can make these!!thanks Teresa your videos are amazing and i love how you take out so much time to help others! you've been a real crochet hero to me and helped me learn. you take time to snawer questions. your AWESOME!!! Thanks i really am happy that you make these videos!

  • hello i seem to have accidentally started working counter clockwise while you are working clockwise !! my project is curving the wrong way!! what do i do please answer asap! also the cap looks better the way i am working on it so should i continue or will it look bad inside out? and to clarify things when i work the little string from the beginning when you first started off is on the out side

  • @laffytaffylalala I am working counter clockwise as well. This is the right hand version so I am working to the left.

  • @tjw1963 oh i am right handed i wonder what happened...

  • I want to make this for a 3 yr so what hook would i need to use

  • @specialCraftsandmore Hats are made for head sizes. The easiest way to make a cap larger is to use a larger crochet hook. You can also work in more increase stitches to make it larger. There is going to be some trial and error in making the cap larger variables such as your personal crochet style, hook size and yarn size.

  • helloo.. but do u have to have a 4 chain ??

  • @joanhur10 How many chains do you want to do? More or less?

  • @tjw1963 well i want to do more maybe 6 chains

  • Man, I ended up with a mutated snowflake...I just cant get this right lol

Great tutorial though! love your vids! :-)

  • @Luezur You end up with a mutated snowflake from the hat pattern? Hmmmm.... I appreciate the comment.

  • Thank you very much for your answer! ;))

  • hello i love your videos,i just want to know if i want to make the cap a lottle bigger how can i do it? thanks

  • @lelian20 Use a larger crochet hook to make a larger hat.

  • Thank you very much for uploading the video. I would like to know what should be done to increase the breadth of the hat, for bigger heads. Please reply.

  • @nizamsclt You can work in more increase stitches and rounds.

  • Hello Teresa! First lest me tell you how much i love your videos! i've made my first crochet with them.

Please Theresa, i will love add ruffled edge on the circle you made a video about, but i have difficulties understanding the steps. it seems to me trhat your making double crochet all way long, i just don't understand howw it happens do create ruffles.

Thank you very much Teresa! ;))

  • @mfang82 To make a ruffle, you are working, several stitches in the same stitch or space. For example, if you work 5 double crochet in one stitch, those 5 double crochet will start to pucker. If you make 5 double crochet in each stitch around, you will make a ruffle.

  • @Ok thank you very much Teresa! please, i wanted to create a ruffle around the circle you posted a tutorial about, how shoul i proceed please! thanks so much for your extra good job!

  • I want to thank you once again Teresa for keeping current with the new styles and all you do!! It is an exciting time in the textile arts, crocheting, knitting, macrame, different types of yarns, plarn for ex. I am always looking for things to inspire me and to get my creative juices flowing and thought I would see what you are up to. How you are doing well and get help with this large amount of work. You are a real blessing to many! God bless you greatly!! Joni :-) From Iowa!

  • @JoanB2009 Hi Joni, I am happy to hear from you, hope you are doing well and staying warm! I appreciate the comment, thank you!

  • I love this video. So far I have made two hats in one day. I definately will be showing these off. Thanks so much for this video, it has taught so much. Now on to the next project for sure!

  • I am having a lot of problems. By round 3 my work starts to curl in. I have watched the video 5 times and restarted my work 5 times and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I suspect has to do with where I am putting the V stitch. You say to put it in the CH1 space but they all seem to look the same to me so I just started going by eye and "skipping to double crochet" and going into the next hole. But it still is not working. Is there a trick I could try or something?

  • @Hawte222

I seem to be having the same problems. So, on round 3, it is unclear to me how many v-stiches there should be in total. When you say to put the V-stich in the chain one space, does that mean you "skip" over what looks like a double crochet? I am confused because I can only watch or listen to the video. Is there a written pattern to accompany the video???

  • I have learned so much from your video' s and now I'm a crocheting nut!! I do have a question? How do I know what size hat to crochet to fit approx child size. IE, baby, toddler, youth, young adult, adult....etc

  • @SuperJokerjoe I have head size estimates posted on my crochet blog. If you are making your own pattern, there will be trial and error.

  • I absolutely love how you teach and all your videos! I have learned soo much from you! I'm adding this ruffle to a blanket I'm making for my pastor's wife!! God Bless!!!

  • @marcipruitt Thank you so much for your kind words! Please share a picture or video response on completion of your project.

  • at first, i didn't understand what is double crochet stitch, etc. etc...they are all foreign to me..but I've learned as you give the instructions. Really, thank you so much for being such a great help to me and to other people who want to learn the art of crochet. Now, I can't wait to make this hat..i'm so excited already for the 3rd project!

  • @pieaumentar I will send you a playlist that has the basic stitches. Each video will help you become more familiar with the basic stitches.

  • teresa, i just want to thank you for posting these crochet instructions.i'm pregnant with my first, due this march and finishing my 2nd project: baby booties in white using your instruction. I've done my 1st ever crochet project which is a pair of red booties also using your instructional videos. I've just done some adjustments since I can't find same size and kind of yarn you're using. I'm from one of the islands of the Philippines.

  • Bless You!! I grew up making granny square blankets, but had no idea how to make any other crochet item. I have waited forty years to learn new crochet skills. I have tried to work patterns from books, but I seem to miss a critical step along the way. I am so THANKFUL for your videos!! I have been making hats and working all kinds of new stitches.

These are easy to make and turn out perfect each time.!!

  • @basketchick43078 I appreciate the comment, thank you! :)

  • HI Teresa, I've just noticed that in your written instructions on row three you have not noted that you need to do the CH4, DC and then commence the v stitches.

***You are such a legend and I can't thank you enough for your videos. If it wasn't for you I would not know how to crochet as I do not have anyone to teach me.

You are helping the world continue to do this beautiful craft by hand. Thank you.***

  • @DehliaP I could have an error in the written instructions. I will check it out, thank you for letting me know.

  • Really precious!

  • @sosweetlittlegirl99 I had a hard time finding a doll.

  • thank u teresa! i tried making the cap and it looks pretty good.

  • @getlosted You are welcome.

  • what am i doing wrong???? the whole hat looks likes a wavy doily !

  • what am i doing wrong???? the whole hat looks likes a wavy doily ! and i have been fallowing directions perfectly! im so frustrated!

  • @theratmomma It is possible that the hook may be to large, the yarn may be to large or you naturally crochet loose. Maybe try one size smaller crochet hook to start.

  • @tjw1963 thank you so much! I have a deadline because my friends baby is going to be born soon and I thought this would be a perfect gift. Have a nice day!

  • And this was my first project using one of my new hooks. ^_^

  • very cute this is on my list if stuff to crochet defenitly=D

  • Can you make a tutorial for the adult version of this please?

  • I can't believe it !! I'm actually DOING IT !! AWESOME!!

  • @daisykatz2004 Congratulations. I wish you continued success with crochet.

  • @rockmaniac06 Yes, I will send you the link.

  • Thank you! I love this hat! I would like to make it for pre-teen/teen and adult. How would I go about doing that & changing the pattern directions, etc.? Thanks for your help! Chris

  • Thank you very much! I like your videos because they are very easy to understand and learn with them. Regards from Norway.

  • Love it. Regards

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw no realy u are an experte in crochet.

thank u sooooooooooooo much dear Teresa

  • Hi Teresa.. love this it is sooo cute making a few for my baby. Just have one question on the written directions I think it says that the v-stitch is dc ch2 dc but the video says dc ch1 dc. Which would you suggest using? Thank you :-)

  • Oh how cute is this hat.....I have some 'summer weight yarn that I will use to make a few one for my Great Granddaughter Ari and two coworkers daughters......thanks T for all that you do for crochet!

  • I making this for my friends little girl whose turning 1 soon ^_^

  • This is so cute and right on time! I just saw a little girl at my job wearing something like this and was determined to make one myself! Great job

  • Hi Tjw I love this one , I would love to make it for my friend`s 9 months old daughter, But I am not sure if it`s ....ect....... As always; Thank you very much for your videos and your Generosity, God bless you.......

  • @1971malak Thank you. You would need the size of the baby head. If you think that the estimated size is to small, you can use a size larger crochet hook to get a larger size cap.

  • i love your stuff !!! could you put a written symbol pattern for this? it makes it soooo much simpler for me to do it :) thank you again for your skills

  • very amazingggggggg, all of your work is very wonderful, but may i ask you : i want to make this hat for my self how much i'll increase the chain??/
