This album cost me $3.25 in 1972 - and I still love it! I'd love to know what the problem critics had with Heep actually was ... 'pain came and took her away just when I thought she was here to stay'...
This is my most favourite Uriah Heep number. I bought this cassette when I was a young sailor and it made a lasting impression upon me. The standard of musicianship is just outstanding especially for its time. They set the standard Thanks for the wonderful memories..
like they say- "they don't write 'em like that anymore" - this band does much to confirm my belief that modern rock reached its absolute zenith in the period between 1965-1978. Better still, the "cream" at the core of the "zenith cookie" (damn, I'm wierd...) were the best stuff from 1968-1974. No other music will ever do as nice a job of creating image while entertaining.
@MrJBDesign - yeah- I guess I'll always miss those days, but I can play the songs anytime I get frustrated, bored, whatever-- can't seem to find album art like that anymore, either...
@akibubba1 Again you are so right! Yesterday night I put together a collection of my favourite Uriah Heep songs of the years 1970 until 1980! Made a playlist of it. Great! :-) I will check out their new album too. Best regards from Germany to you!
@MrJBDesign Interesting- my family was originally from Germany about 100 years ago. Definitely one of the better bands to do a play list of. Some of my playlist would include: Time To Live(Salisbury),Look At Yourself(Look At Yourself),Sunrise(Magicians Birthday),Poet's Justice(duh......),Tales(Magicians Birthday),Return To Fantasy(Return To Fantasy), etc,etc...later Heep is ok too(I have Fallen Angel among others), but the early stuff will always be my favorite.
Saw these guy's Live with KISS at the vets addotoriam in DeMoins Iowa about 35 yrs ago. there visions came true in my life. Gods Gotta love them . i do
I hate to burst bubbles but the title of the album was in reference to recording terms demons=producers wizzards=recording enginer after dim witted protest and album burnings huriah heep kept on with the faux cultic themes in thier titles for spite
Thanx for the post, Children! This was one of my fav songs on this fab album&so glad you posted it!The artwork on this album was AWESOME, huh?We had a GREAT era of music, didn't we?We were spoiled..the crap out today is just sad

Excellent job by Lee Kerslake. I wonder how they could let him play such simple things like "Easy Livin'".

This is when they were in their prime, the confidence of the delivery, the sharpness
of David Byron's vocals. Being a bit of a Heepster myself, the Byron era will have a
mainstay in my music library.

A living tribute to Ken Hensley's song writing skills, I believe! As regards David Byron, needless to say, it is sheer talent.
