So, after having a 15 year crush on Billy, I felt I needed to add to this. I didn't take the time to read but I'm sure its already been mentioned: Outside the established fans, the Pumpkins are going to be hard pressed to find a fan-base without Guitar Hero. When was the last time you saw them on MTV or VH1 in a video or not? They had that Ford commercial last fall with a quick clip of a song, but I don't think that penetrated the market. Guitar Hero=Good!

dont just like everything he does because its him. some people make mistakes in their career . he tried with zwan, it didnt do that well. he tried his solo work, that didnt do well either and now hes done a "sort of reunion", which lets be honest is just as much a zwan reunion as it is a pumpkins one only instead of playing the odd zwan song at their gigs they play the odd pumpkins one (which they dont seem to enjoy at all). im not angry at the guy im just quite gutted about it all.

It sucks you missed them with the original line up because they were a great band then. But, still go see them today because Billy still is a great guitarist and put on one great show here in Las Vegas recently. I was your age when Siamese Dream came out and that album and MCIS is the soundtrack to high school for me. Get a ticket next time they come to town and you won't be disappointed.

I think we are making two different arguments. I think Zeitgeist is shallow compared to their older stuff. Lyrically, thirty-three is one of their best songs (along with Martha, 1979, and perhaps real love) But just because Billy will get money from this deal, it doesn't mean that he truly believes in the influence of rockband to get people to listen to his music.

Billy Corgan and co. have had a weird fashion sense when performing on stage ever since the Machina years (99-2000). Before that they looked pretty alternative, but then went to a more gothic image in 1998-99 for Adore. Ever since, Billy has commonly worn a drape, dress, or kilt of some sort. But my favourite outfit is his Zero shirt and silver pants from 95-96.

That's funny because 93 was the first year I took acid. The early 90s were the best years for me if just for the music. I miss the music from that era and have listen to nothing but since then. I met Billy in 2000 in Minneapolis and he signed my MCIS record and shook my hand. His bass player at the time was really cool and talkative to me.

Yes, I met Billy and Melissa Auf Der Maur in Minneapolis in 2000. I just saw the new Pumpkins at the Palms here in Las Vegas. They put on one hell of a show and I would see them again for the 4th time again. Billy and the rest of the band was very cool to me.

Sure I did. Back in 2000 in Minneapolis where I'm from. I actually have a signed copy of Mellon Collie on vinyl. I didn't meet them in Vegas at this last show, but they put on a free show in Minneapolis in 1998. It was one of the best concerts I've been to and I remember they started with To Sheila. Still one of the best bands out there.

Yeah - Billy wore cheap throwaway thrift-store dresses back in the Gish days, and it was awesome. now he's very much wearing a tailored space-dress costume that I'm sure is trying to convey a point, but personally I just think looks really ridiculous (like his costumes during the Machina days). As a fan, I overlook his fashion choices, but because his music nowadays has NO HEART at all anymore, the costumes don't help.
