  • By god what a performance here by the boys, absolutely outstanding!

  • this proves there WERE some very nice moments in the latter years....thanks for posting

  • I not only love hearing the songs but the reactions of the crowd which to me FEELS like I was right there with them =) Peace and love to all and keep that groove alive always =)

  • too bad Willie Wooo Hoooo was so close to the camera. where's the rest of this?

  • ..as a 5+ shows( I know, trust me I sat out many other shows for drugs ,ripped off,or just no tick.)this was the song I so wanted to hear, and I got my blessing in the form of INSPIRATION I believe at RFK 93 my last show,...If I'm wrong please let me know because I had also did the tour up in Nasauaa New Yorrk in the spring.

  • Is there anything better, ever, anywhere? I don't think so, thx for the post :)

  • Great song great show. I miss all the people I have meet and went to shows with

  • Simply amazing!

  • How could there be even 1 dislike on this? It's truelly awesome!

  • Happy Birthday Jerry We love and miss you man.

  • sometimes jerry was to high to get the lyrics right.. lol but he NEVER missed a note.

  • Jerry Garcia forever.....this is an incredible version.....playing his heart out for the last two years of his life...

  • Heaven at 6:16!

  • This si the song that got me hooked.. amazing

  • No question...an absolutely awesome Terrapin!

  • who dislikes this shit

  • Awesome! I love hearing the crowd as well. Makes you feel like your sitting right there!

  • Really beautiful. Shame, that the crowd is so loud recorded. It overtakes the band...

  • @oskarveliky HEY NOW ~ part of the raeson WE ~ being part of that crowd ~ were SO crazy loud is that the show the night b4 that was cancelled cuz of a CRAZY snow storm. The other reason? IT'S FUCKING TERRAPIN!

  • His job was to shed light and not to master! We'll always you Jerry, more than you could possibly imagine.

  • This why we love the dead, jam it out boys.i'm dead downunder & lovin it!

  • Statements just seem vain at last....

  • Woooooooooooooooooow!!!! Only word that comes to mind is breathtaking!

  • This is one of my favorite tunes. Thanks for posting it! I LOVE to hear the crowd!

  • btw, for those idiots that think deadheads wasted their lives, first off I travelled all over the country for more than 20 years(between 77 and 95)...if that's a waste...then i'm guiltily smiling at all that i saw and was a part of. second...dead fans are lawyers, doctors , former presidents and v.p.'s, foreign premieres, ambassadors, news commentators, senators, police officers, grandparents, parents, students, professors, inventors...shall i go on...

  • there's more fighting on this site than i ever saw at a dead show. in fact, with more than 250 under my belt between the 70s and 90s i only recall two, and one of them - they wound up smoking together afterwards. that was the legacy. if you don't get it then you are in the wrong place.

  • @tenjed4224 man you should have been at all good last year, there was almost a riot between furthur fans and bassnectar fans, as the latter was scheduled after furthur, and they proceeded to play for an absurdly long time. it was pretty funny, annoying as fuck though.

  • This night was one of the most magical ~ dancing through the halls of the Coliseum Club. Love the sound of Jerrys voice as it echoed all around us <3 Richfield

  • Love Jerry so much it makes me cry.... wish i could of gone to every show after my first, went to every one i could get tix for and a few i couldn't mostly in Cali and west coast states.... Wish i was there in 1965, cause that was when the party really started!

  • Oh damn I thought this was the dead covering Barrett's "Terrapin" that would've been cool. Anyone heard "Whatever happened to the baby lemonade?" Featuring Phil Lesh? If you like or respect Syd Barrett and Phil and you're into experiments (which if you like Barrett and Lesh you do) check it out on youtube. Its strange, not a ton too it but I found it to be fun and interesting and I'm glad Phil could rep Syd a little bit.

  • JERRY NEVER SHOT DOPE, HE ONLY SMOKED AND SNORTED IT. ALL OF YOU ARGUING PEOPLE SHOULD READ "GARCIA AN AMERICAN LIFE" BY BLAIR JACKSON" IT IS THE CLOSEST REALITY TO THE TRUTH AND WILL GIVE INSIGHT SO YOU CAN AT LEAST KNOW WHAT YOU ARGUE ABOUT IS REMOTELY TRUE. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WAS A TRUCK DRIVER FOR THE BANDS EQUIPMENT FOR YEARS. PLAY NICE KIDS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rowthewharf71 its all hindsight now

  • @madabox, thank you for uploading this. I have so many memories from this show; my buds and I from Indy were staying at the Red Roof Inn in Akron, got snowed in the first night, ended up going to the lobby for munchies for everyone. I wondered why the desk clerk was looking at me funny, and then when I saw the cop on my way back to the room, I realized that I had forgotten to take the joint out of my mouth! He just smiled and asked if I was keeping warm, then walked on, laughing.

  • 8:35 melts face

  • To eav0567, if you really went to over 20 shows like you said, then you SHOULD know what the grateful dead & jerry were all about. But with your"comments" it dont seem like you were listening. And by the way I zoomed in on jerry because its a jerry song, I would of done the same thing for bob. Inspiration move me brightly....... Fantasy and delusion, yea ok eva0567, Asshole!

  • mighty fine version!

  • Buttfullofmusic, how aptly put. My statements were not hateful, just not politically correct. Sorry I don't worship at the alter of political correctness. I've been to over 20 shows in the days I lived as these fools did. This is not your site. Grow up emotionally and see the truth in the real reality not just the delusional one in your head. Amazing you mention Jesus. If you really knew him, you would have reality.

  • @eav0567 How is insulting someone politically correct or not? If you met Jerry I am sure he would be an inspiration to you. He was a cool guy. Lots of people ruin themselves on drugs, and many people ruin themselves on much worse... Hate.

  • You can get the audio-mp3 of this tune at greatgrabber doht cohm.

  • Billy & Micky are tearing it up. Gotta love Terrapin!!!

  • pppppppppppppfffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The photographer zooms in on the lone figure of Jerry, leaving out the other members. How rude!!! Just like Jerry. Did what he wanted including abusing his physical body to the point of an early death. You look up to him? Your life is worth just as much. His music evoked emotions and nothing more. Fantasy and delusion; what a way to live just following these guys around letting them steal your potential.

  • @eav0567 Ur such an ass puppet. U dont know SHIT about Jerry Garcia. Go read another Rolling Stone article and get back to us.

  • @eav0567 fuck u pussy jerry garcia is a icon of peace and happiness he may have physically abused his body but what does that have to do with the incredible music he produced go jerk off to phill collins u ignorant asshole

  • @kalukskate12 Profanity? That says it all. Grow up, get a job longer than five years, and raise a family. You will be doing better than this jack-leg playing guitar and shooting heroin. At best he was a good guitarist. What about the plumber that installed your toilet? If it were not for him, you would still be crapping in the woods. Or the electrician, and hvac guy? All the people that gave you the modern life I know you are enjoying. What about them? No instead you worship this escapist

  • @eav0567 listen u ignorant ass hole im a 17 years old and im a hell lot smarter then u are now, ur like forty five and u commenting on yotube videos im sure u have gone far in life, what u said about jerry garcia was completely uncalled for jerry garcia is one of the most respected loved musician of all time no matter what ur stupid fucking opion is, so instead of starting fights on facebook read a book and get a job jesus christ

  • @eav0567 Oh play the game...existence to the end, of the beginning ...of the beginning

so turn off you mind relax and float down stream. Instead of pointing your plastic finger at me and trying to make sure that nobody escapes to Desolation Row. GOD BLESS THE GRATEFUL DEAD

  • @eav0567 Haha its funny. You said "see the truth in the real reality not the delusional one in your head". Okay heres one truth: No matter what YOUR opinion is the TRUTH is that Jerry Garcia is a musical legend, thousands of people attended concerts. So logically speaking, the truth would be that Jerry Garcia was a great guitarist/musician, and weather you like it or not this "jack-legged",dope using guitar player moved people and changed music forever. Can you say that you've done better?

  • To all you people who keep comparing Phish and Grateful Dead to agnosia: you talk in such general terms like it's suppose to mean anything to anybody. It's a little irritating to both Phishheads and Deadheads. It's music made by two different bands, to say they aren't the same: Well,..no shit sherlock. Go solve another mystery. Jerry doesn't miss you!

  • i was just a few row from the dude takn' this vid. good times

  • Epic

  • Speaking of the Corrina at this show, it was the best one ever performed.Super Heavy bass line. This show was brodcast live that night on WMMS Cleveland for the people who got screwed on the Friday show due to the blizzard. Awsome show- it snowed so hard that the roof caved in.

  • During this song this night I was completely spun and thought I was going to die this night... Jerry and The boys made it ok though... I was cool with it. But I knew I was going to enjoy the show... amazing night forsure. Thank you Jerry we miss you!

  • This lifted my shitty day, thank you!

  • Amazing, only 2 years before his death...he seemed so connected in this video. Quite the storyteller...

  • 93 was good times hmm ,boy how could I forget that year .....................heaven on earth, lovers come and go ... but the band keeps playing this is terrapin at its best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is a BJ Bootleg.....recorded from section 118 about half way up....

I was next to BJ, the guy videotaping it....

he had a sony Hi8 on a tripod...pretty slick setup.

  • Thank you. I was at this show. Wow. Remember the fucking snow?

  • grrrr, lost my whole post! terrapin station is one of all time favorite jerry vocals, and thats a looooong list! this wasn't just a tear to my eye vid, it was practically bawling :*(

    this was the dead's only real attempt at a concept album and i can do without most of the songs, but side 2 (LP speak, i'm old) .effin hypnotic. jerry is our forever angel, singing sweet songs to rock my soul! proud and loud 46 yr old wife, mom, DEADHEAD (~);}

  • This is amazing - thank you so much!

  • That's a solid Terrapin or 93 , and I love the crowds enthusiasm!!

  • One of my all time favorites! Gives me goosebumps

  • More than this I will not ask

  • fucking crowd SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • best guitar player of all time OF ALL TIME

  • YO VINNY!

  • Love this tune always have

  • "His job is to shed light, not to master..."

  • Phish is horrible compared to the Dead.

  • I know its THE DEAD but I would love to hear a studio version of this.

  • Frankly you dont want to hear the studio version, the Terrapin studio album is my opinion one of the Deads worst, the production is over the top and strips the whole Dead spontinaity thing away, worse still is the DISCO !!! version of dancing in the street, which really must have had Pigpen turning in his grave.

  • @Fireperv Turning in his grave alright. He must be at least medium-rare by now!

  • questa è terrapin station una delle ultime suonate @@@purtroppo una chitarra cosi non si sentirà piu @@@una armonia un godere nel sentire i gratefuldead@@

  • 8"0)

  • 8"0)

  • Crickets and cicadas sing, a rare and different tune, TERRAPIN STATION!!!!!

WAs at this show as well.....woooooohooooooooo

  • truly inspirational, best terrpin Ive' ever heard. the crowd is lifted to another level

  • I was there!!! And this is my favorite tune:D

  • If there is a Heaven...Jerry BETTER be there!!!

  • I can't figure out... If it's the end or begining....

    Jerry's in fine form, here.......

  • Chills.

  • very good ladyw fan into terrapin still so much energy in the jams and build ups the changes still feel kinetic even so late in their time together

  • But lost in Love. And a girl is standing there. In the lion's den. I will not forgive you if you will not take a chance.

I love this song IT's SO TRULY (I can't think of a word) FROM Heaven! Jerry is so phenomenal. Terrapin Station's always lifted me UP when I'm Down!!!

INSPIRATION! The Audience is so Ecstatic Must of been so Great to see this live!!!

  • wheres the other 1/2 of the song?

  • I remember this show... and this song.

At the time, I was convinced Jerry was singing to me... and me alone.

    Good times.... sigh.

  • I am gettin old ................ fuck seeems like another life ago.....a foundation for a loose adulthood

  • And the whistle is screaming....TERRAPIN. chills every time.

  • go Billy Go!!

  • go Billy go!!

  • They spent their lives doing live concerts rather than just selling records. They drew people of all ages to their shows, and they spread their magic from town to town. They were a band for the people, and those people came to listen, and dance and enjoy the spirit of friendship and peace. No two shows in the same town were ever the same. A golden band, great music and a magic that will never be surpassed. Can anyone bring that magic back again?

  • @butfulmuzik Well said!

  • @butfulmuzik Friendship and peace? Are you kidding? These guys were clairvoyant musicians who allowed any old dead spirit passing by to inhabit their bodies and bring us sounds from the dead. Sheesh, what a bunch of schmucks. Nothing better to do than thumb their nose at everything orderly and productive while they and their followers just pour through their lives like water with about as much backbone.

  • @eav0567 Jesus, go see a shrink. Someone pissed in your cornflakes and you never got over it. Why do people like you go into sites of people you obviously dislike and write such hateful things. Get a life or get help.

  • Its funny how I got the chills right before I read your comment. Good music brings you back to when you first heard it. Man this song is just a wonderful story of hope

  • Every time I watch this I get chills, in a good way. God the dead will always rock! RIP Jerry, I look forward to smoking a J with you someday.

  • Wow, nice Terrapin - the drumming leading up to the climax in the second half of the song is absolutely PHENOMENAL.

  • One of the few highlights of this show.

    What about the encore???

I'd love to see that !!!!!

  • LOVED this show. One of the strongest Terrapin's I've seen live. The SNOW! So beautiful. Memories of LOVE. Love to you ALL>

  • @FunKills1969 not as good as the dozin at the knick shows but still powerful...

  • I was there also... The blizzard show... i remember the scene was SO FRIGGIN' COLD that i was the only one of my group of five friends who actually got out of the car and enjoyed the scenery!!

    Heckuva show, though, Brownie!!

  • It was what it was . Or as we all say (it is what it is)

just let it be and enjoy. You will never see a Band just like this again (thats for sure).

  • theres magic in his voice - a dim lit world is bright - rip gerry

  • i Came to look for theGrateful Dead,thanks...Ill keep it in mind next time i want a...er...filthy slut..Anyways RIP Jerry the music+your memory will live on always..

  • I was at this show too! I remember having high hopes for this one because of the cancellation due to snow. 1st set Brown Eyed Women got a good reaction for the "snowed so hard..." line but the show was TERRIBLE!!!! except for the Terrapin and Stella and the high point of the show: breaking out "I Fought the Law" for the encore!!!

Do you have a movie of the encore???

  • the crowd doesn't get the meaning of the somg, does it? \

  • What is the meaning?

  • nicely taken footage from '93, in Ohio, that's right... they would have liked it

  • Wow! I was there, and I remember being snowed in at the hotel for the one that was canceled. This was a beautiful treat.

  • I've heard the audio of this version...and would totally agree one of if not the best Terrapin ever done live...and I've seen plenty! Still miss Jerry.

  • Yes, during the Storm of the Century and my birthday. The first night was cancelled due to snow!!!!!

  • yeah it was, i was there! I was pregnant with my daughter, she was born in april, we named her corrina, this was one of the most memorable times i ever had at a show, snowed so hard the roof caved in they did cancel the 1st night, Thank God I had a 2nd night tix...THANKS SO MUCH for posting the vid's of this show

  • I was there, this venue has been torn down, sadly. Good show for 93 standards.

  • I was there! Thanks for sharing!

  • This was an incredible show! Jerry in what had become a rare display brought us to tears.

  • ty for posting this

  • I was there!!!!!!!!!!1

  • was this one of vince's first shows i believe

  • no vince's first show was 9/7/90

  • Okay TY

  • Good call though... Vince's first show was at Richfield. I used to have the tape. They opened with Cold Rain and Snow.

  • Excellent camera work...thanks for posting. This brings me right back.

  • An excellent version of Terrapin, and believe me the boys really flub

  • my daddy rodied 4 them for a year this was the biggiest band hes ever rodied 4 and im vary proud im 12 and the grateful dead has a place in my heart comment my channel if u wanna talk

  • so I was trying to watch some Phish videos to see if I could rekindle the love and just wasn't feeling it then I stumbled across this video and it brought me to tears.. still miss you deeply Jerry..

  • @ascheylus yah-phish suck

  • @puff420puff420 phish is a great band and they put on a hell of a show but I agree that they don't have that same "spark" of something special that the dead had. i never got the opportunity to see the dead in person but just by watching bootlegs like this i can feel that kindling spirit. to get back to what you said though, i wouldnt say phish sucks, they are just different in their own way to which a person like you doesn't have the same emotional appeal as opposed to the dead.

  • I read an old shroomery post of Chinacat, and he sayes his daughter sayed that she wanted this to be her wedding song!

  • My favorite Live Song!

  • Melts just like Butter : )

  • If Jerry's guitar playing was declining during this time period, it certainly isn't evident in this video. Beautiful playing by one of the best. It's a bummer the song is cut short... I so wanna see and hear the rest of the solo.

  • W/o a doubt 1 of my fave Dead/Garcia tunes. I jumped outta my skin when they played this and Estimated Prophet, both from maybe my favorite Dead CD. A real classic.

  • I loved dancing at Richfield. Those dark open spaces in the top corners. Such memories. Such places they took us.

  • This was my last Dead show. The previous night had been cancelled because of the "Blizzard of the Century", which I think was the first time in decades that the weather had caused a cancellation. Unfortunately, this was probably the high point of an otherwise lackluster show. I believe this rated in Relics as one of the 10 worst Dead shows ever. While that's certainly arguable, it was the least interesting of the 15 shows that I'd seen to that point, and I never saw them live again.

  • that a bummer man. jerry never left a bad taste in my mouth and the last show i saw with him playing was the best one of the 23 i went to.

  • This is Jerry's "signature song" fer sure...,but Mickey & Billy absolutely rock out. Some nice drumming!

  • Incredible performance. Probably the next best Hunter song ever. Ripple being the shit. I always want, Phil, Bobby or Warren to play this song. xtremenortherner, you have it right. Jerry wasn't a rock star in his mind, but took us to places we had never seen, or experienced. No doses neede!..JS.

  • Hey you should check out Gov't Mule's version of Terrapin Station to hear Warren play it.

  • Actually I have seen Warren & Co. perform this twice. Once at Mountain Jam and at Red Rocks. Warren owns every song he plays, his or otherwise. He was incredibly good this year with the Dead.

  • Comment removed

  • This is amazing, thank you so much.

  • Briandrum, you said it brother. Jerry singing "shining star" was my first dance with my wife. His voice says it all.

  • no band will ever be this incredible...period...

  • richfield was a mess that night ,crazy stuff

richfield col. is no longer ...

  • Watching this performance brings a tear to my eye,I'd almost forgotten just how much FUN it was to see Jerry & Co play one of their mind-bending concerts!

Some musicians/critics always say a lot of sh*t about the Dead,& Jerry in particular.Usually when they rant about

    Beck,Clapton,& Page being"rock gods",I always have to remind some of them about Hendrix,Harrison,& Garcia! Jerry never liked the superstar image,here he's dressed casual,being just another musician "playin in the band";

  • wow!!!!

  • Grate Post! Brings back memories....

  • Blizzard of 93, previous night's show canceled. We were camping at Sea World. Barely got our cars out of the woods and made it to Holiday Inn in downtown Cleveland. It was OUTRAGEOUS! Filled to the gills with Hippies, Marines, and black Southern Baptists. What a party! Wind and snow was blowing sideways, the Holiday Inn just let everyone come inside. I-90 closed, I-80 closed, I-76 closed.

  • i was traveling on my own through sardenia in italy and i ran out of money waiting for my ferry to north africa so i went up in the hills to sleep for a few nights. i was damn cold and i would wake up every few hours to restoke the fire until the day rolled in. listening to this on my walkman made me feel lucky to be where i was. singing along with songs about the miles. my eternal gratitude...

  • Went with a ticket and no room to stay in-- awesome show!! Mad scene at hotel with hippies washing each other in indoor pool. Thanks to whoever put me up! GD 4 EVER- Kieran

  • one of the most memorable runs.

  • Bob was coming out of Corinna.

  • I love how it seems like Bobby was forcing Corinna, then Jerry takes over w/Terrapin.

  • INSPIRATION...move me brightly!

  • I live up in Duluth, MN, & I recall when jerry passed, they had the memorial ceremony on KUMD, the university station, they have GD hour every Sat. at 4p. I make it a point to tune in when I can, LUVIT!!

  • awesome

  • Man I miss The Dead

  • 16 years to the day!!!!

  • i was at this show wow 18 yrs old sneakin out

  • I love this song - thanks for posting. Saw one of the the final Terrapins at Three Rivers and so glad I caught it. Just something special about being there and catching the scene that was the Grateful Dead.

  • Awesome.

    Simply Awesome.

Shame on youtube fro the stupid 10 min. limit

  • This is my favorite Dead video on You Tube... LOVE the crowd (captures the joy of being there), the sound of the drums, and Jerry is RIGHT ON! And frankly I think many Terrapins from '93 are better than from any era, and I saw my first at my first show, Englishtown 9/3/77. Thank you, Jer...

  • i AGREE..I WS AT THIS SHOW...THE STELLA IS JUST OFF THE HOOK AS WELL!!

  • I agree too, well, at least on the way this video captures the 'essence' of being at a show...I'm still a sucker for anything and all thing's Brent...

  • Wow, I have chills. I remember the blizzard and the show. Thank you so much for this.

  • RIP beloved friends, your spirits live on in my heart, and will roll along with me like a rainbow in my heart, throughout my eternity~

  • I was upstairs and nothing sounded good! Had an excellent time in the hotel bar the previous night during the blizzard, though!!!

  • I remember this being the first night I think, and the sound was lush and amazing. I wandered a lot though, pretty sure I was in the upper deck at the beginning and it still seemed clear and distinguishable.

  • I hate to say that I was one of the people who rushed in after somebody popped open an emergency exit, but, I was one of the few who didn't get caught. Incidents like that always made the band look bad, but if I had to do it again, I would still be seeing one of the best Terrapins ever.

  • What a treat after having night one cancelled from snowstorm - a monster terrapin

  • very very nice.

  • Billy and mickey are on !!! WoW!

  • Great version

similar to Greensboro 89--one of the 5 best things i've ever seen in concert-lights above stage set up differently--no circle--just a hundred lights in a couple lines that lit up the Coliseum like the frickin Cape Hatteras Lighthouse as he gave us all "INSPRATION"--it was mind blowing

  • Any Soldier Field shows? Days Between, Childhoods End? 95...

  • Brilliance. Not much more to say.
