  • its really sad to see race horses of the age 4 or 5 die on the track or injuries involving

racing... its a shame really... i think they should get rid of racing all together.. life for the horses would be so much easier... and they would live a long happy life without having to run their guts out everyday. but nice video BTW!

  • @sparklestalks Thank you =] I agree with a lot of your comments on the racing age and how many die young, and I remember when Barbaro and Eight Belles lost their lives, and it's a relief to see some changes coming into the sport that should have been done a long time ago.

  • @GoneWest1984 i think so to! i wish there really wasnt as much human involvement but thats not really possible.... i miss barbaro so much its said to have seen that horse go.. and a horse with that much talent to... but some trainers are making a change for the better which is good but some of these trainers dont really care, which really pisses me off.

  • @sparklestalks I totally agree, and it's like that in every horse event/industry. I'm involved in the walking horse industry, for example, and nothing sets me off more than to be compared with people who abuse and sore their horses. Not all of us are like that, and the injustice of being lumped together with them really sets me off. Because there are those of us who sincerely care about our horse(s). And not just for a quick buck or blue ribbon.

  • Nice video. You have to go back to Ruffian to find a filly like Zenyatta, though Zarkava and Rachel Alexandra belong in that league as well. The big difference between Zenyatta and Ruffian is Zenyatta was handled a lot better. What were they thinking, running Ruffian in that idiotic match race only two weeks after she had won a 1 1/2 mile race to complete the filly triple crown? Zenyatta is now likely to live happily ever after in Kentucky.

  • Thanks. Yeah I agree. Zarkava most definitely belongs in this group and Rachel Alexandra does too. I know! I totally agree. I hate how they say Zenyatta has faced nobodies. It takes a special horse to remain undefeated and take on the best the world has to offer. Hopefully next year Rachel Alexandra will have her chance against the best. I'm glad they gave her a rest, and Zenyatta got to prove exactly what she's made of. =]

  • @GoneWest1984 Life is Sweet pretty much stuffed that "Zenyatta beat nobodies" argument when LIS won the BC Ladies Classic. I'm also glad they gave RA a rest after the Woodward. The Woodward was such a great game win but it was an all-out effort from RA. I'm looking forward to seeing RA run older filly and mare races against LIS, Careless Jewel etc. and against older G1 males. RA should be even better as a 4yo as she fills out and adds muscle. I'll still miss Zenyatta though.

  • Oh yeah. I'm glad they gave LIS the chance to shine. Yeah I can't wait either. I think Careless Jewel should have better luck next time since she'll be older and has hopefully matured in the sense that she'll be calmer and less rank. I agree, RA more than deserves the rest after such a hard campaign. Yeah I'll miss her too. I'll also miss Sea The Stars as well. He didn't have long enough to shine in my opinion.

  • I believe Zenyatta is as close to Ruffian than any girl ever has been. :)

  • thats what i thought when i first saw zenyatta and her legacy is just as impressive in my opinion as Ruffians. they are both Queens of racing! Girls rock.

  • yeah i agree. i don't think that there has been a filly/mare that has come close to Ruffian until Zenyatta....... They are both so special.. BUT they are both are un-defeated and will always stay that way.. :)
